Someone move this over to the Andru Jones thread.

QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jul 3, 2006 -> 12:02 PM) 3 months hell...........this thread is great comedy TODAY. We'll never learn em' :headshake

Anyone else at work today? : (

In fairness to the starters, we knew thay wouldn't all have '05 years again, that's why the offense was improved.
-
Any idea when this comes to Chicago? I know a few people who would LOVE it.

QUOTE(pcullotta @ Jul 3, 2006 -> 09:23 AM) I understand what you're saying but I'm not sure those are fair comparisons. In 2002, Joe got into 53 Games and hit .285 with 12 Homers and an OPS of .826. In his first full season, 2003, he hit .261 with 19 HR, 75 RBI, and an OPS of .741. For Aaron, in 2001 he got into 63 games and hit .293 with an OPS of .816. Jon's first full season came in 2001 when he was only 6-7 but he had an ERA of 3.69. Currently Brian's OPS is at .579 after 62 games this season. Again, I don't want this to turn into a BA bashing thread but I don't think you can compare BA to Garland, Rowand, or Crede. All three of them performed much better early in their careers. I understand what you're saying and I don't hear you bashing BA. I like the idea of seeing Rob M. in there more often, but I'd be dissapointed to see the Sox give up BA entirely. However, if there really was a reasonable offer on the table to get Jones, it would be tough to turn down, so we'll see. The Sox parted with a good and very popular CF in Rowand. I'd have to imagine they're less in love with BA.

What's up with the Roberto Hernandez talk? Did he leave here on good terms??

QUOTE(pcullotta @ Jul 3, 2006 -> 09:00 AM) And when do you anticipate that will be? I don't want this to turn into a BA bashing thread because I like Brian, but how can you just assume his offense will come around? Might not, but I know that Garland, Rowand and Crede were given more than half a season to get their s*** together. Why wouldn't the same time frame be offered to BA? Because suddenly our starters don't all have ERA's under 3.00?... or because suddenly the Tigers are in 1st and won't lose?? Hardly seems fair or consistent. Back to the point, rumors start when someone looks at a team's weakness and says: "hey, you know (insert all-star player's name here) might be going to the Sox." How many times have we printed up an Eric Chavez Sox jersey in the past two years?? Sure anything is possible, but I'd be surprised to see the Sox give up on BA right now.

Interleague play; is it growing tiresome?
LosMediasBlancas replied to mr_genius's topic in The Diamond Club
I like it, then again I'm in Chicago. In Chicago it's a great thing, overall around MLB? I'm not so sure. -
Jimmy makes the squad !! This must all be a dream. The Sox win the WS, then pick up Thome, then he has a solid first half, then he dongs off fat f*** Zambrano, then he makes the ASG. If he changes his mind and decides to participate in the HRD, you might find me in a padded room.
-
Gee, it's almost like I've heard this rumor before, but I can't rememb....oh yeah, every time Rowand was struggling at the plate. When BA comes around on offense, all this Jones talk will die. I'd like to hear rumors about pitching. The pen needs one arm at least and the starters need a good kick in the ass for the second half.

QUOTE(Rex Kickass @ Jul 2, 2006 -> 01:12 PM) I saw The Devil Wears Prada Friday. It was funny for 45 minutes. Then you say, "Okay, I've had enough" but there's still an hour of the movie left. My wife and I saw this on Friday also. Nothing happened in that film that I didn't see coming a mile away. I understand it's very different from the book too.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 2, 2006 -> 08:02 PM) We weren't going to sweep the Cubs. As much as this one stings because of some odd things that took place, I'm satisfied with 2 of 3 because this series worried me a lot coming in. I'm always happy to win a series, but think about how close we were to losing it. I'd like to know how many times this team has given Buehrle a lead, only to see him give it RIGHT back. Our very good pitching staff gave up a LOT of hits to one of the worst offenses in baseball.

White Sox vs. Cubs July 2 Game Thread

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jul 2, 2006 -> 10:53 AM) Paul is 6-14, with 3 HR's and 5 RBI's Jim is 3-9, 0 HR's with 1 RBI I know, it'd just a little personal thrill to see Jimmy go deep off of Cra-Z. -
Scratch Scott Williamson from the list

White Sox vs. Cubs July 2 Game Thread
LosMediasBlancas replied to DBAHO's topic in 2006 Season in Review
The Cubs finally have the line up they've wanted all year. Mark better check nuts and step up. You guys know how I feel about Cra-Z, for the Sox to pound his big, fat, cry baby ass would be the icing on this weekend. I hope Jimmy is in the line up, but I doubt it. -
My favorite is he kept saying they played a great game. Really? They gave up 15 hits, what was great about it. The Sox won but gave up 13 hits, that's not playing great.

QUOTE(zenryan @ Jul 1, 2006 -> 11:53 PM) hahaha, sorry england One of the worst teams I've ever seen get that far in the Cup. I'm surprised a depleted Portugal was able to beat them.....but I'm glad they did. Someone might wanna tell Rooney that he should use some of that energy on scoring or setting up goals instead of yelling and making pit bull faces. See ya. Brazil should be ashamed of itself. Now it's an all European Cup, yawn. Go Germany.....I guess. -
QUOTE(Reddy @ Jul 1, 2006 -> 11:15 PM) the one i hate the most is john miller calling iguchi 'Tada Iguchi' he's done it all year and it just pisses me off How about him calling Ozzie, Ozzie Smith over and over again?

QUOTE(hi8is @ Jun 30, 2006 -> 09:14 PM) my friends saw them play recently and before the band took the stage, they BLAIRED a sample over the speakers... it said, "These White Sox Fans...." the sample was looped repeatedly and became louder and more distorted.... the band then, as the sample got louder.... came out one by on and took the stage. thats pretty freakin cool and thought you all should know, if you not a fan of radiohead or dont find this the least bit intresting... then... uhhh.... sorry. not really. Was the show your friends saw in Chicago?
