  1. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 18, 2005 -> 12:07 PM) I saw a picture the other day of him standing in the outfield wearing red under armor, he looked pretty lean and cut. Not to menion the Puma commercial. I found a screenshot from the puma commercial. Yes, he is lean and cut, holy s***. airbrushing.
  2. QUOTE(knightni @ Aug 18, 2005 -> 11:50 AM) Not if playing CF is contingent on him dropping his no-trade clause. He'd be a moron to demand that. In fact, if I was as injury cursed as he is, I'd welcome a DH slot.
  3. QUOTE(AirScott @ Aug 18, 2005 -> 11:56 AM) why not put him in LF, and platoon Everett, Griffey, and Pods at LF/DH? that way, Pods recovers quicker by not playing the field as much, and Griffey isn't fielding everyday, cutting his chance for injury. Fine, whatever. I don't see how it could hurt the offense. I see a huge potential upside. By the way, this is moot, he ain't coming.
  4. So, basically bench depth going into the post season is a problem? I don't let Griffey play the field, I DH him and platoon him, Carl and Dye.
  5. Tell me this, how can adding Griffey make the O worse than it is right now?
  6. QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Aug 18, 2005 -> 10:35 AM) merci The train ride itself is about 40 mins. from the time you step on until the time you get off the El. Give or take a few minutes depending on where you get on. The blue lines makes numerous stops in the loop.
  7. QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Aug 18, 2005 -> 08:35 AM) How long does it take to get from the Loop to O'Hare via the El? Roughly 40 mins. maybe less.
  8. QUOTE(Wong & Owens @ Aug 18, 2005 -> 09:33 AM) Package Rowand and some prospects for Ichiro and Guardado. well, thank you for the warm welcome, Mr. Rourke. And that's a fine midget you have there........ Well done.
  9. Where can I find that 'we're going to go down swigning with the guys we have' quote? Thx.
  10. QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Aug 18, 2005 -> 09:47 AM) Well, that's a WHOLE lot different that what this thread was trying to claim he said. Think before you post is a good policy...yep And candlesticks...make a nice gift. I started this thread so I have to assume that comment is for me. Take your own advice and re-read my original post. I didn't claim anything besides what I heard on the radio this morning.
  11. Take it easy people. As I wrote, it came from the mouth of Tom Schaer or Schaerer who does the updates for them at around 6:45 this morning on ESPN radio 1000. I haven't found the quote myself. I was just wondering if anyone found it, or had heard the same thing.
  12. This morning on am 1000, they said that Konerko was asked about the Sox needing to acquire a bat. He said the Sox would rather blow the division or lose in the 1st round of the playoffs with what they have, than to add a bat. I didn't hear him say it, they didn't play a sound bite and I didn't find it in the paper. Anyone else hear or read this?? Please add or delete this if it's in another thread. If it is, sorry in advance.
  13. Nice, now throw in a bat and we're suddenly a lot better.
  14. I don't know what they think this will accomplish. 'Juanito' is still going to swing for the fence on the first 3 pitches in every at bat, regardless of game situation, pitch count or pitch location.
  15. See, I never thought Kapler was really THAT huge, but he did have a good physique by bodybuilding standards. He was lean, cut, symmetrical and evenly proportioned.
  16. Sarah Michelle Gellar is a good answer. She looks like a rat.
  17. May I ask, whyClemens would be so shocking? The guy has gotten bigger and bigger as he's gotten older and older. He's over 40 and still huge. How about the 'intensity' on the mound? Intensity is one thing, throwing a broken bat at Piazza for no reason could be roid rage.
  18. wow, but I'm not surprised by Roger at all.
  19. QUOTE(Texsox @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 01:59 PM) See, he really is hot I don't if it's the 'comb over' hairstyle or the Michellin around his waist that clinches it.
  20. QUOTE(Texsox @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 01:52 PM) :puke pic here Sheeeeeeeeit, that's the BEST I've seen him look. try this: http://pochinokoya.com/actor/philip%20seymour%20hoffman7.jpg
  21. Great pitching matchup, we've lost 4 in a row and people are questioning Mark in big games. No better time for a gem Mark, do it!
  22. 2. Promiscuity 3. Ha, you're funny 4. Carmen Electra 5. How many times have I told you, you can talk to me, just don't stand in FRONT of the tv. 6. 7. I shove my fingers down my throat and puke 1st 8. Never, a really good pair just kind of dissapear while you have it on...except for the waistband. 9. Beer 10. His knew his wife was waiting at the 'promised land'
  23. QUOTE(Colorado Sox Fan @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 11:48 AM) How are we even going to get that far? I'm just curious how we believe the Sox will beat the A's, Angels, Red Sox or Yankees in the first round? [Disclaimer: I have been a Sox fan since 1967, I am not jumping off the bandwagon, I will always be a Sox fan, I realize the Sox have the best record in baseball (at least today), the sky is not falling, all rights reserved, copyright 2005, no purchase necessary, need not be present to win, one entry per family, see dealer for details, opinions subject to change without notice] Call me crazy, but I still only fear Oakland. We have playing at our absolute worst for the past week and are STILL in every ball game. At our best, I can see us losing a game here and there, but I like our chances in a SERIES against almost any AL team. Guys will get healthy and other guys will start hitting again. We knew this stretch would be tough, we just have to ride out the slump.
  24. ''If somebody offers us a No. 1 starter and we make a trade, [the media are] going to say I lied,'' Allen said. Translation: Griffey is available at the right price. I wonder if Sammy's translator is available to help Jay.
