QUOTE(hi8is @ Apr 18, 2005 -> 03:51 PM) 90 MPH??? how about 97? =) That one comes at his 2nd at bat.......and it also hits him in the rib cage.

I want to see the 1st pitch to Hunter be a high and tight 90MPH fastball....and when he strikes out and has to walk back to the dugout, I want to see AJ block his path and give him a little shoulder too. :finger

QUOTE(Steff @ Apr 18, 2005 -> 03:35 PM) I've been twice and I loved it. Loved, loved, LOVED the zoo... You should try to get to LA also. Catch an Angels game. The stadium is really nice. Wow, everyone has told me their Zoo is overrated. I heard they have just as much as Brookfield......and don't have dolphin shows.

Ozzie vs. Frank, round one?
LosMediasBlancas replied to Al Lopez Ghost (old)'s topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ Apr 18, 2005 -> 03:20 PM) Bruce Levine was on Silvy and Carmen just a little while ago and said this is being taken out of context...the Language barrier keeps getting Ozzie in trouble. Levine said he was there and said about Frank was Frank back in the day and couldn't wait to get him back in the "New" clubhouse...take it FWIW though... it is Levine after all... I used the language thing as an excuse for Ozzie before, not this time. He went on and on and had plenty of time to clean it up and all he did was s*** on it some more. I just had a thought, I'm gonna start reading and listening to some of his quotes to the Latin media to see if there really is a 'language barrier'. -
Ozzie vs. Frank, round one?

QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Apr 18, 2005 -> 02:43 PM) Well, that is true. Frank has heard the same crap before from Manuel and others. He's risen to the occasion and proved people wrong before. Time to do it one more time. You're right, but there is only so much he should be asked to take. If he doesn't fire back, I will have gained a TON of respect for him......more than I already have. -
I know he's not serious, but is that a joke?

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 18, 2005 -> 02:34 PM) I just checked on line and best available is Sec 152 row 26 FWIW, so the bottom bowl is already pretty close to full. A good way to check, is to see what's best available upstairs. Filling the lower bowl and a few upstairs will not be 30K.....I don't think. How many people does the lower bowl hold?

The official site says 9:00 am, wich seems wrong, but maybe they changed it. Yeah, good tip, I've mad the mistake of getting there at like 6:45, then I'm in line til 7:30. This is for someone I know who wants to go tonight, thx.

QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Apr 18, 2005 -> 02:18 PM) I don't have a problem with what he said. Because it's not directed at you. If you were Frank, how do you think you would you feel? -
what time does the box office open on game days? any tips for getting good walk up tix for tonight?? Need 3.

Fisherman's Wharf= Nay Pier=tourist trap. IMO . Someone mentioned seeing a lot of Asian people and that is SO true. All I saw were Asians and Caucasians, ZERO black or Latino people. Just an observation, no biggie. Overall, the city seemed very safe. I saw maybe one small area in SF that looked 'rough', we were told the rough areas are in Oakland, just accross the bridge. At the time we were there, they said that SF had more million dollar+ homes than any other U.S city. Maybe I have that wrong, but the Victorian style homes out there really are colorful and amazing. Ride the trolley, we made the mistake of thinking we could walk all day. Ha, with all the super steep, hilly streets, our legs were on fire in like 20 mins.

'The Art of Rolling'-- byThe Blue Van....the entire disc kicks major ass.

QUOTE(retro1983hat @ Apr 18, 2005 -> 01:46 PM) They should get Hooters to sponsor it and call it the Hooters Wet T-shirt Shower! If it was away from kids, like in the bullpen bar, then maybe. But not near FUNdamentals.

Ozzie vs. Frank, round one?

QUOTE(Kogs35 @ Apr 18, 2005 -> 01:49 PM) any1 think the media is behind this? the sox doing well media hating the sox? yes we know ozzie has a big mouth and a big ego. just a thought I've tried to give Oz the benefit of the doubt before, but this time he flat out blew it. JR and/or KW need to sit him down and tell him to shut the f*** up. They hired him, and said they loved his attitude and how he 'shoots from the hip', etc. Now they have to fix him. -

How can Frank not reply to this?....and if he does, the media will say that FRANK is the pouting, spoiled, selfish baby. I hope Frank takes the high road on this one, but if he doesn't and fires back at Ozzie, I will TOTALLY understand. -
I'm having breakfast and listening to the WBBM news on the radio this morning. They were talking about the Sox new clubhouse chemistry and how good it is this year. Then they play a quote from Ozzie in which I thought he said something like: ".....and it better stay that way when Frank comes back. He was a big part of the bad attitude last year". Tell me I was still asleep, or hallucinating or didn't hear him right.

4/18/05 Official Game Thread: Sox vs. Cakes

The offense has to get going pretty soon, or it's gonna be a long year. We need Pods and Frank soon. -
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Apr 18, 2005 -> 12:15 AM) Yosemite is awesome. If you have a shot LCR, you should go there cause my personal stance is San Francisco is one of the worse cities out there. Its filthy and there is nothing to do besides Fishermans Wharf and Alcatraz. I swear you can see the whole city in a day's time. wow, I didn't dislike it as much as you did, but I agree, it felt tiny. Because of the layout of the city and the ocean, it gives the impression that it's huge. Once you've been there for 2 days, you realize that it's pretty small. I didn't think it was dirty, but we did get bored quickly. We went in May and I was freezing, apparently they don't get really warm weather.

QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Apr 18, 2005 -> 12:19 AM) California Question, Part Deux... Has anyone ever been to San Diego, because im tentatively planning a trip to check out the Sox while they are down there...1. Does this sound like a good idea? 2. Should I plan on my entire week there or should I take a drive out someplace else while im down there? Thanks and Chisoxfn I'm expecting a response from you!! WOW, I already have the same trip planned and purchased!! I'll be in SD for 5 days, including the 3 days we play the Padres. I plan to do 3 days in SD and maybe driving into Mexico, past Tijuana and to some of the coastal towns that are a lot less touristy. I try to avoid all the touristy stuff when I travel, so I don't plan too much. I just get there and feel it out for myself.

Some f***ing pedestrians shouldn't be on the street either. I can't tell you how many times people have run between my car and the car behind me when I'm parallel parking.
-
tip: It's a lot cooler, temperature wise, in SF than you might think. Personally, I liked SF, but became bored with it very quickly. I think we saw almost everything in like 3 days and then found ourselves looking for ways to kill time. Alcatraz, GG bridge, tour of Victorian homes, clam chowder, good seafood places, etc. If you're a wine lover, go through wine country and all the vineyards.
