I know it's early in the year, but we need offense soon. It's too much pressure on a pitching staff to expect them to keep teams to 2 or 3 runs per game. -

QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 17, 2005 -> 07:17 PM) Anyone else have an opinion on Iguchi bunting in the first inning down 2-0 after the leadoff hitter was walked? I think it's too early in the game to start playing for one run, especially with the ball seemingly jumping out of the park. Really looks like a bad idea now. -

QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 17, 2005 -> 07:12 PM) What has happened to Garcia's stuff? Even last start, his fastball seemed a lot slower than in seasons past, and he's not throwing his splitter/changeup like he did last season. Just compare the stuff he has now to the first start he made for the Sox vs the Twins last year. There's no comparison. Since he put on a Sox uni., the guy has made me very nervpus. Seems to give up the long ball and get into a lot of jams. His numbers don't tell the whole story. C'mon Freddy. -
Not to mention that when you first learn how to drive, your foot is kinda clumsy. It takes a while to learn the feel for gradually accelerating. In fact, ever time I get into a different car, it takes me a little while to learn the gas pedal. She probably still had a clumsy foot, accidently floored it and the Mom didn't have time to get out of the way.

what is the responsibility of mods and adnins?

QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 17, 2005 -> 03:47 AM) Excellent point. I'm not saying Crede sux or he won't work out, I'm just saying to say he might tbe better than Valentin and that things could be worse....well big f'kin deal. Valentin is no loner with the team for a reason, beacuse we're trying to improve,
-
QUOTE(qwerty @ Apr 17, 2005 -> 03:22 AM) Um, how about we compare crede's average to our other starters? Middle of the pack, if not in the bottom half.
-
QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Apr 17, 2005 -> 12:52 AM) it was asian invasion at the cell today. That's a good thing, very good.
-
What's the point of this thread? I'll play along. Let's assume Valentin is worse than Crede, does that mean we should be happy with Crede? Cancer is probably worse than herpes, but I guess if you have herpes, you should be thankful and happy, cuz cancer is worse.

QUOTE(CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Apr 16, 2005 -> 11:55 PM) I read more negative stuff in the threads about our players than i would ever read in the Cubune. Everyone's a critic. Crede sucks, Garland sucks, Willie sucks, Timo sucks, this guy sounded bad in an interview. Paulie's a jerk Shingo sucks. You're all like a bunch of whiny lil b****es. Nothing's ever good enough for ya. I'm ecstatic . The Sox are winning and pitching great. The glass is half full not half empty. Try to remember that next time. I guess it's not possible for a guy to pitch a good game and be a dick in a post game interview. I didn't crack on his pitching performance, just that he was a dick afterward. I'm ecstatic too by the way.

QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Apr 16, 2005 -> 09:51 PM) It's so cool that morons like Harold Reynolds have to eat s*** now that the Tigers are stinking up the joint. He'll never bring it up again. -

MB works so fast, some people probably spend more time in travel than at the game. -
Upcoming starters for next couple of series

I like it that Mark and Freddy throw in Oak......the west coast is so good to us. -
QUOTE(AirScott @ Apr 16, 2005 -> 04:12 AM) yeah, I know. that's why it's Jose Valentin, and not Trent Durrington and Jeff Cirillo in the poll. Did the Sox consider permanently replacing Crede with Valentin at 3rd?
-
QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Apr 16, 2005 -> 04:12 AM) and your nuts. you should not be reading that much into what he said, he was just casual as he should be after pitching a gem and getting a W Well then I'm not alone, the sports news anchor is nuts too, because right after that clip played, he sighed and said "ooooookay then" and moved on to the next story. Agree to disagree.
-
QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 16, 2005 -> 04:05 AM) I saw him interviewed on CSN, yes. Is that what you're talking about? I saw nothing wrong with anything he said, too. Said he wasn't thinking about the no hitter, which I don't have a problem with. Said he didn't really think about it once he gave up the no-no/perfect game. Again, I don't think he's thinking about that -- he's just thinking about getting outs and getting the W. Fine. The clip on the news that I saw (re-read my original post) made him sound like a jerk, IMO.

Crede plays 3rd. Valentin plays short. We had both.
-
QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 16, 2005 -> 03:56 AM) Oh, GIRLand, where have I heard that one? :rolly Ha Ha. What a f***ing joke. If Jon had a perfect game, you'd b**** at him for not striking out enough guys. Jesus H, gimmie an f'n break... Take it easy. He threw a good game, where was that disputed or even brought up here?....only by you. Have you seen the clip I'm referring to?
-
QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Apr 16, 2005 -> 03:48 AM) Meaning if Buehrle or Garcia said this it's a non issue. No, I'd still say they came across as jerky in that particular interview. . It's different with GIRLand because he has said stupid things in the past.
-
QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Apr 16, 2005 -> 03:45 AM) Where were you when Buehrle was perfect through 6 or 7 and made comments about how he was walking around the dugout telling people he had a perfect game going. What's your point? I have no problem with Garland saying he and Mark were talking about it, that's not what bothered me about the clip.
-
QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Apr 16, 2005 -> 03:45 AM) If it wasn't Garland that said that he would be getting laughs at what he said or it wouldn't be brought up. huh?
