QUOTE(Steff @ Apr 19, 2005 -> 12:30 PM) Only if they're wearing this.. If she was at the game in that custome, the last thing on my mind would be the intros.

QUOTE(Steff @ Apr 19, 2005 -> 12:17 PM) The voice is serious and so matter of fact.. I was LMAO.. I've heard it and I love it, I wish it didn't hint at 'the other team in town' but it's still great. Aren't they supposed to kick you out of the park for throwing things onto the filed? I would imagine, this includes HR balls, no? This is what the Sox need to do, make an example of the idiots who do it. The tradition is lame, not to mention dangerous.

One thing I've noticed about AJ is he very, very rarely has gone to the mound to settle our pitchers down. Bad luck tends to come on a roll, as a catcher you need to get out there and ice the offense. -

Ozzie vs. Frank, round one?
LosMediasBlancas replied to Al Lopez Ghost (old)'s topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Apr 18, 2005 -> 08:46 PM) FWIW KW was on ESPN 1000 and he said he walked into Ozzie's office and Oz said he felt sick to his stomach with the way his comments were interpretated. I didn't read the article or anything that's just what KW was saying. wonder who has Ozzie been listening to that gave him that impression? -
Tori H, Carlos Lee and Frank all at 8 mil, hmmm.
-
wow, the optimism is overwhelming.

what does Mark B make?

I skimmed over some of the other threads in this section, how is it going with visiting fans?

Ozzie vs. Frank, round one?
LosMediasBlancas replied to Al Lopez Ghost (old)'s topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 18, 2005 -> 06:52 PM) When Everett played centerfield, I remember hearing about how experts had never seen a player turn more routine singles into triples due to terrible range and instincts. Everett has absolutely no range in the outfield...he even helped us win a game in Montreal last year when he was in the outfield for the Expos. I like Everett as a hitter, but he should never play the outfield again. He makes Timo look like a gold-glover out there. The other option is Dye, who is not hitting well at all and looked comatose out in the field yesterday. -

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Apr 18, 2005 -> 05:14 PM) Exactly. I've liked KW and Ozzie while they've been here. However, Frank's going to trump them in my book. I'll always be in Frank's corner. I'm no insider, but I've heard and read on other boards, that the people (shareholders, JR or whoever it is) who really make decisons for the Sox will make sure that Frank retires in a White Sox uniform. If that's true, any smear campaign by KW or Ozzie is a waste of time. -
QUOTE(hi8is @ Apr 18, 2005 -> 03:59 PM) id rather just us kick their asses score 7 runs off loushe and shut em out I'd rather have it all, actually.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 18, 2005 -> 02:48 PM) Actually I just remembered a tidbit from Soxfest that might shine a little light on this. Saturday nite at the fest a few of us hung out with Ozzie Jr for a while, and listened to some of the stories he was telling about the teams his dad played on back in the day. One of the stories he told us was how Frank was a much better player when mad. He said many of the players used to say stuff to him before games just to get him pissed of and focused into the game. I guess they used to always bring when someone like Bonds or Griffey would have a big game, and then ask Frank what was wrong with him. This might be more of the same from the Oz. This sounds like just getting him ready to go. Wow, his kid was spilling stories to you huh? Apparently, oral diahrrea is hereditary. -

Just read another Ozzie gem, he says Crede 'doesn't show up sometimes, that's not what you want'. To me that means no effort, but I guess because of the language barrier, he probably meant 'the results aren't what we'd like to see from him so far'. This guy is becoming a P.R. blooper reel. -
QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Apr 18, 2005 -> 04:22 PM) The zoos in San Diego and New Orleans put the San Fran zoo to shame, but it's still a kick-ass experience. I figured that, I've heard Chicagoans say that the SD zoo is overated, that it's the same if not worse than Brookfield. IMO, unless you have a ton of time, any big zoo is not a good idea, as it tends to be an all day experience.
