  1. Bumping Girland down to the #5 slot is the best thing the Sox did this off season. They basically gave up on him. I expect 12-14 wins, I won't let him frustrate me any more.
  2. why is the time off on when people posted a message? Posted at 3:00 Am about a game that is on at 2:00 in the afternoon??
  3. QUOTE(T R U @ Mar 20, 2005 -> 01:47 AM) well i was talking about eating whatever without gaining weight.. my weight I was using for my BMI example I get it.
  4. Wow, this is rich, or I must be misunderstanding the article.. First of all, if you're engaging in any form of sexual activity (with another) person, guess what? YOU'RE DOING IT, PERIOD. Second of all, are there really girls out there who will not engage in vaginal intercourse, but will do anal instead?............and afterward they will still consider themselves virgins? That same woman will climb into bed with her husband on her wedding night and claim she's pure? Hilarious.
  5. QUOTE(T R U @ Mar 19, 2005 -> 02:04 AM) Im like that too... im 6'1 210 and my waist is 34 but when I do a BMI test it says that I am obese because of the fact it doesnt take in account muscle or stuff like that, so its not the best tool That's hardly the same thing, it's a 30 lb. difference. I'm thin, you're big. I'd be happy at a lean, muscular 195 lbs. But hey, it beats being fat, especially when I look at other men my age. 23 BMI, life exp. 81.6.
  6. if it's an all ages show, good luck. Kids will get ther at like 9:00 AM.
  7. wow, this turned into a ballganme. Score? Inning?
  8. Tough one. I gotta let it marinade over the weekend. Just in the 2 minutes I thought about it, my brain overloaded.
  9. just got here, does Duque look like crap again? Keep B Mac nearby.
  10. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Mar 18, 2005 -> 06:06 PM) This thread refuses to die Now that we're on to BMI I just want to add a few things. Don't become a slave to this number. It's not a one size fits all. I have a BMI that fluctuates around 25. I am 6'3" 210#. I have a 46-48in chest, 36-37in waist, & 36in inseam. Am I overweight? Everyone who knows me thinks of me as being thin. All of us have fat & as we get older the biggest battle is the stomach & lats (luv handles). I think that applies to both sexes. Your metabolism is like a big oven. When you're young it runs at very high temps than can burn fat quickly. As you get older the temp keeps dropping & you have to run the oven longer to burn the same amount of fat. As a general rule for real men if your chest size is 25% bigger than your waist size you're not overweight. For real women it's probably a similar function between hips & waist size but don't quote me on this. By definition real men are those men who can at least bench their own wt 3 times How many times can you bench 210 lbs.??
  11. QUOTE(Queen Prawn @ Mar 18, 2005 -> 07:13 PM) My legs are much better than they were. Not much looseness anywhere on 'em. Now if I can get my arms to comply, I'd be happy. My midsection is slowly coming along, but I have to do the pilates a little more regularly. I'm no expert, but I see the kind of workout the trainers at my gym make women do. It's mostly weights, with enough resistance to able to do 4 sets of like 12-15 reps. Supposedly, this makes you more cut and defined and doesn't add muscle bulk. I'm sure they do cardio too.
  12. QUOTE(YASNY @ Mar 18, 2005 -> 07:02 PM) Maybe. He is still on record as endorsing steroid use. I understand and I have not read the book either. From what I've heard though, he endorsed the use of roids, only if it's supervised by a Dr. To me, that seems like a big difference than just saying he pro roids.
  13. QUOTE(Queen Prawn @ Mar 18, 2005 -> 06:51 PM) Brian - is that you?! lol Brian is just like that. Drives me up a damned wall. I started working out about 4 months ago and watch what I eat. It wasn't that I was getting fat, I just wanted to tone up. It is driving me nuts that I work out 4 days a week (at 1 - 1.25 hrs a time) and while I have toned up, I'v only lost about 6 lbs. Like you said, don't worry so much about the weight. Are you getting toned?
  14. QUOTE(YASNY @ Mar 18, 2005 -> 06:58 PM) Chaos. I agree with all of your post with the exception of Canseco being the guy to head a task force. In his book, he basically endorsed steroid use. He changed his tune yesterday after hearing those parents say their piece, but I can't accept that at face value as a change of heart. At least, not enough to have him be the leading spokesman for an anti-steroid task force. Actually I think he said he wrote the book 2 years ago and over that period of time, he has changed his mind about a lot of things.
  15. QUOTE(The Critic @ Mar 18, 2005 -> 06:40 PM) Literally?? You stick your face into a bucket???? ( NOTE that I actually am not 100% sure if horses stick their faces into buckets to eat, as I am not now NOR have I ever been a horse....a pig or mule, maybe....but it sounded funny to me anyway....on the advice of my attorneys, I respectfully decline to continue this joke..... ) Refusing to talk about the past eh? Good move.
  16. QUOTE(Steff @ Mar 18, 2005 -> 06:36 PM) I eat like a horse..literally. Always have and have never weighted more than 122 lbs in all my life. I didn't start working out to lose anything. I've just always done it. But I will admit.. if I didn't do it I do wonder if I would get fat.. Not gonna stop to find out though. LOL. Who knows. I know there have been a few times where I've stopped for like a month or two and have dropped like 10 lbs. and gained no fat. It's all genetics. There are people I see at the gym who work out hard, eat well and can't seem to lose.
  17. I'm not bragging here, cuz I'm just plain lucky genetically. I'm the guy everyone hates. Eat whatever I want, thin as a rail. 6'1", 180 lbs, 32 inch waist. In fact, I have to eat a LOT, drink protein shakes and work out just to build mass so that I don't wither away. I think if I didn't, in 2 months I'd be down to like 140 lbs. :puke Maybe I should juice.......... trying to get us back on track.
  18. QUOTE(Steff @ Mar 18, 2005 -> 04:29 PM) I didn't say Jose couldn't take it.. I said I didn't like it. As well as my other comments... my opinions. I gotcha.
  19. QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Mar 18, 2005 -> 04:43 PM) After re-reading it, you guys are right....this statement is worded very vaguely and could be explained if hard evidence came out against him. Interesting...not that any statement would ever convince me he wasn't putting roids into that balloon head of his. He was also careful to say "...everything that I've HEARD about.....". Very slick and great comment. Mac should have said the same thing and he wouldn't have gotten roped like he did.
  20. QUOTE(YASNY @ Mar 18, 2005 -> 03:27 PM) Oh hell! ... I can't remember the name of the movie, but Danny Devito answers the phone with this classic: "No, Debbie can't come to the phone right now. She has my dick in her mouth." Hangs up and says "I love wrong numbers." is it "Ruthless People"???
  21. QUOTE(TheBigHurt35 @ Mar 17, 2005 -> 09:46 PM) He didn't say "illegal according to MLB's rules" and steroids certainly have been illegal outside of baseball ever since he's been playing. In fact, I believe that steroid use has technically been illegal in MLB as well. MLB was simply not allowed to test for it under the terms of the CBA. Exactly, he left the language vague so that it's open for him to able to clean it up later, if he needs to. That's not a statement that can be proven to be a lie. By the way, I'm not suggesting Sammy is clean.
  22. QUOTE(Steff @ Mar 18, 2005 -> 04:18 PM) I think they burned him good on his quotes from an 02 SI article. I also think he was a asshole for attacking Jose when Jose didn't say anything about him in his book. Made him look desperate and brought it to my attention that he was trying to make the hearing about discrediting Jose and not about making the penalties tougher. I also think he was disrespectful when asked why should congress believe that they would do anything now comparing it to 30 years ago... "well, I wasn't around 30 years ago..." No s*** sherlock... the question was easily answered with a "because it needs to stop". IMO, of course. I had no problem with any of it. Schilling was gonna have his say. If Jose can dish it, he better be able to take it. You wanna talk, let's talk. About the 30 years ago, again fair answer. He was indirectly saying that those were different people involved, so that's why he should be believed.
  23. QUOTE(Steff @ Mar 18, 2005 -> 04:09 PM) I don't see that as a compliment. A lot of people would agree with you. It seemed like Schilling was the only guy they couldn't corner and they seemed to realize it. He and Canseco actually looked the best. Palmeiro did OK. Mac got torched and Sammy looked plain lost and stupid.
  24. I keep hearing how Schilling looked arrogant, rude and slimey. I didn't see that at all. He was the most eloquent speaker and chose his words very carefully and didn't get suckered into a corner like the others. He seemed to impressed Congress, they even joked that he sounded like a politician. He's a player rep, right? The guy doesn't want anyone else involved and feels baseball can fix the problem itself. Maybe that's naive or just plain stupid, but he seems sincere in believing it.
  25. QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Mar 18, 2005 -> 03:53 PM) In Canseco's book, he believes the whole Andro thing was a hoax, to have people think that was what he was doing. It would draw attention away from steroids. Canseco says that if you are doing steroids, you would not do Andro. Kind of makes sense to me. Plant that in your locker, and people go, oh, he uses a supplement for working out... That's an interesting angle I'd never thought about, but Canseco is speculating. I know guys who have used Roids and then use other supplements to try to maintain, so that they don't have to always be on juice. One thing I've learned about roids, is that for every guy who tell you to use them one way, you'll fidn another guy who tells you that you are doing it all wrong. That's part of the danger.
