  1. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Aug 15, 2011 -> 06:07 PM) YESS!! 600!! And more importantly the 3 RBI increases the Twins lead to 9-5.
  2. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 15, 2011 -> 09:20 AM) can we keep the beard His last appearance pitching for the Sox he had shaved his beard off.
  3. 8 out of last 10 and Danks 5-1 with a 2.29 ERA in his last nine starts.
  4. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Aug 13, 2011 -> 07:24 AM) Ozzie shouldn't have to tell his pitchers to retaliate. The pitchers should have enough f***ing balls to protect their team mates without having to be told. The pitchers are between a rock and a hard place here. Knowing the Sox don't score any runs means 1 HBP can be the difference between a win and a lose. That being said, f*** that and win some friends in the dugout and reach out and plunk someone.
  5. To those people who told me Stewart belonged nowhere near the starting rotation......
  6. I'll go out on a limb and say Reinsdorf won't hire a pricy manager.
  7. Think anyone will be brought up because of Dunn and AJ being out til Tuesday ?
  8. Death in the family. Condolences to the Dunn family.
  9. runs,runs,runs,runs,runs runs !! get some !
  10. there's the 2nd of 5 i predicted before the end of the year.
  11. Bath's and game threads. I see the excitement created by the Sox win is running rampant
  12. Who are these guys knocking the ball all over the park ?
  13. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Aug 8, 2011 -> 03:32 PM) Would it be harsh to say anything less of a sweep of the O's would constitute as complete and utter failure? Yes
  14. QUOTE (mmmmmbeeer @ Aug 6, 2011 -> 08:21 PM) I'm with you on this. I notice that often Alex is in the front of the line at the entrance to the dugout to congratulate teammates...certainly not something I'd expect from a guy who is just there to earn a paycheck. Good start for Rios after 2 games 5 for 8 with power. Maybe Frank's visit had something to do with it.
  15. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 7, 2011 -> 07:28 PM) You better come up with something better than that to help save Ozzie's job. That's for sure. I want Ozzie gone as much as the next guy but also want the Sox to go on an incredible run. Can't have your cake and eat it too.
  16. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Aug 7, 2011 -> 07:19 PM) Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Come on guys, we have seen this act time and time again this year. They get to .500, and then lose a few games. Then, they get back to .500, only to lose a few games. Repeat. They aren't fooling me, and they aren't going to make up 5.5 games in the last two months. Do you really care if they fool you ? So what if they do. What have you lost ? Hmmm that's weird. I go to art.com to look up the Serenity prayer and now there's a banner of it in the ad space.
  17. If his thumb is bothering him at all they should not let him hit at all and treat it. He is way too important to let him play hurt.
  18. No problem. I can only respond to what you wrote but it does seem like people take it so seriously. I follow the Sox religiously and have for a long long time but they're not a reason to get more than momentarily upset. I'm not particulary religious but some Soxtalkers could use this. God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, Courage to change the things I can, And the wisdom to know the difference.
  19. QUOTE (JoshPR @ Aug 7, 2011 -> 06:57 PM) I would love a Rockies type run, that would be awesome, but I ain't getting high hopes just to come crashing down when they get beat by awful teams Nothing wrong with having high hopes for your favorite team. If they do good you ride the wave. If they suck you have to shrug it off , not come "crashing down". As much as we all love the Sox we shouldn't live and die with them.
