  1. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 16, 2009 -> 09:20 PM) Wasn't Aardsma awful with the Sox? WTF? Is it our coaching? Bad luck or ? Just a young pitcher with good stuff getting it together.
  2. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Sep 16, 2009 -> 08:53 PM) Trivia question: What is the most hits a team has had in a 9 inning game without scoring a run? A: The record for most hits by one team while being shut out is 14, set once in the NL and once in the AL. On September 14, 1913, Chicago Cubs ace Larry Cheney threw a complete-game shutout against New York, despite being beaten up by the Giant hitters. The Giants had a hit in every inning, but had only one runner reach third base. Cheney was helped by three New Yorkers getting caught stealing and one being thrown out trying to stretch a single into a double. The Giants’ dubious record was matched on July 10, 1928 by the Cleveland Indians, who somehow could not score against journeyman Washington pitcher Milt Gaston. Gaston, who two years earlier had allowed 12 hits while shutting out the Red Sox, survived six leadoff hits and five Indians reaching third base. per the baseballlibrary.com
  3. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Sep 16, 2009 -> 08:53 PM) Trivia question: What is the most hits a team has had in a 9 inning game without scoring a run? Has to be 10+.
  4. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Sep 16, 2009 -> 08:51 PM) He's already got 2 hits, what else do you want? A productive out wasn't asking for much.
  5. Way to get the runner home from 3rd with less than 2 outs Rios.
  6. Dye and Rios both with 2 hits. Figures the rest of the team is snoozing.
  7. Not a good birthday for Beckham so far.
  8. 3 hits this inning but the base running blunder by Q = train wreck.
  9. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 16, 2009 -> 08:12 PM) Gameday says Gavin Floyd left due to an injured foot/ankle. Stone said hip.
  10. Rios 2/2 and 2 outs on the bases for the Sox.
  11. Runs this inning . If Dye and Rios can get hits runs are not far behind.
  12. We're going to be out of this game soon if Gavin doesn't settle down.
  13. 3 hits the last 2 innings . 1 DP , 1 caught stealing. Can we just play the game without wasting hits especially from Dye and Rios.
  14. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 16, 2009 -> 07:40 PM) Rios strokes a single. Will he steal with us down, 3-0? Doubtful.
  15. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 16, 2009 -> 07:35 PM) CQ still has a lot to learn about hitting IMO. I am not just saying this cause Gavin is getting lit up. But he's 11-10. Why do we all assume our rotation is going to be unstoppable next year. Gavin is not Tom Seaver. Danks is not Sandy Koufax. They are good, but why are we assuming next year will be balls out excellence?? I remember during the spring people expected Gavin to regress. He hasn't been bad at all. Not good on the road but he's still young and hopefully that will come. He seems to go deeper into games than Danks does.
  16. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 16, 2009 -> 07:31 PM) CQ and Lexi both need to play winter ball. Hope they do it. I don't care if CQ gets hurt. He needs work. CQ just needs to be healthy . He need rest and rehab not more playing in the offseason.
  17. Alexei and JD with hits and the requisite DP by Q.
  18. Lets go JD make it a bloop and a blast.
  19. We got the Mariners right where we want them .
