  1. Bullpen was stellar today only giving up 1 run in 5 innings. Vasil pitched 3 and gave up the 1 run but got the win in relief of Burke to pitch the 5th, 6th and 7th inning. Gilbert and Booser pitched perfectly in the 8th and 9th and picked up a hold and a save. The BP also only issued 1 walk in those 5 innings after Burke issued 5 in 4 innings. Thaiss gunned down 3 runners , 2 stealing 2nd and picked off a runner at 3rd who strayed too far down the line on another attempted steal of 2nd with men on 1st and 3rd with 2 out ending a Marlins threat in the 4th. Meidroth went 2 for 4 with a single and double and got a nice force out at 3rd on a GB in the hole. Props to Rojas for managing to find the base while on the move and catching the throw while moving backwards. Palacios was on base 3 times going 1 for 2 with 2 walks. Robert and Vargas were rested for the 2nd day in a row with various ouchies.
  2. Teams saves .Brandon Eisert also has one.
  3. Tim Elko's 1st Big League hit was a 3 run 💣in the 6th that led to the Sox 4-2 victory. White Sox win the rubber game of the 3 game series and also win their 3rd series of the year . The Sox also won their 12th game of the season and Cam Booser picked up only the 2nd Sox save of the year by pitching a scoreless 9th inning. Memorable Mother's Day !
  4. Didn't exactly call it.I think I said it would be nice if he hit a 3 run HR early. 6th AB in his 2nd game will do. 🙂
  5. Sox got a run so that means Burke ,will give up at least 1.
  6. I noticed that also in the box score.Probably due to weather since it wasn't mid inning when he was removed. Didn't have the best control. 41 pitches, 21 strikes, 2 walks ,4 K ,0 hits.
  7. He didn't get the 2 high pitches that were both showing up solid white on that TV strike zone. The low one was the most egregious . Definitely in the zone .
  8. Last 2 pitches are strikes with ABS now a walk.
  9. No Robert, No Benintendi, no Vargas. Tauchman, Lee , Workman all playing in AAA all supposedly back soon. Not sure of Benintendi status. They just invested in Workman , so he can't stay in the minors. Tauchman will come up too. If Lee isn't called up they use his last option. Elko not likely to be around in a week -10 days from now .
  10. I didn't see it myself. One of our posters said it early in the gamethread.
  11. I also don't like the use of hyperbole towards my opinion to make your point. I have never used the word savior nor has anyone else to my knowledge. He deserved a shot with his current stats. That's it. You can say what you want if you think labeling a prospect as he is what he is then that's up to you after a mere 2 full and small parts of 2 other seasons . It's not like his plate discipline was terrible in your larger sample size. His career OBP is .348 I understand the reluctance to support a 26 yr old 10th round pick because chances are that kind of prospect succeeding is the exception rather than the rule. Chances are you'll be right if that's important to you. My fandom is about allowing prospects to develop and supporting them when they deserve a shot on the big club that's been filled up with AAAA type failures getting shot after shot and hoping they create a bit of excitement on a team with very bad offensive numbers . I know your not the only one who needs him to prove it. That's fine . He's been treated as organization filler by those who do Future Sox too. It goes with the territory when you start your professional career at 23 after being a 10th round pick.
  12. I'm not going to pretend I have any knowledge of how JR runs things or his bookkeeping or how he allocates his money . Obviously 26 MLB players all making varying amounts adds up to something as does hiring new staff for different departments that have to do with baseball operations and drafting players domestically and internationally and buying machinery. equipment, maintenance and transportation costs is a lot of people and things to pay for. Maybe Getz has tough choices to make if he spends $5M getting new toys that's $5M he can't spend on players. Every player on the 40 can't be a prospect who's developed enough to at least earn an opportunity. There's just not enough talent around to not pay somewhat reliable veteran talent. Also while rebuilding you can't bottom out so much that it dries up your revenue streams because your product is so bad fans and advertisers and TV people won't pay for it.
