  1. The usual subjects who think everything is a disaster.
  2. Lots of pitchers in baseball not great every day, some are only very good or good. Peak value happens after sustained success. This is not a sprint. This is baseball .Do try to keep that in mind in your haste to do whatever you're trying to do.
  3. Always looking ahead to a definitive future when the reality is things can change in a literal heartbeat.
  4. He may have a small blister that is affecting certain pitchs.
  5. Getting something for Dominquez while he gets some saves seems to be a priority. That's both thinking wins and future. Getting any young pitcher to pitch well in crucial situations prioritizes winning and development also. No need for him to close. He's pitching great just how they they're using him. No need to force anything. Its about building his innings and if that's pitching a couple of good innings in the 6th and 7th then that's good enough to kill 2 birds with 1 stone.
  6. Baby steps, just keep getting better. More wins in Sacramento and KC are a welcome sight. Schultz up and dealing . Sox "ll get Hays, Teel and Shane Smith back and start winning at a better clip. Murakami power stroke coming alive and getting national attention. Colson swatting big flys too. It's all about perspective.
  7. Never knew you fantasized about Sosa in LF so much. Another imaginary scenario that you claim makes the Sox look bad. Can't you find enough as it is without making things up ? Just like you made up the Sox causing pitching injuries once there were so many Tommy John's. Conpiracy theory much ? You think you see things that no one else sees but there's no evidence except in your addled mind.
  8. So back to Schultz. Schultz added 40 lbs in the off season. According to Bannister , "We added back the cutter. The cutter had additional movement, more than it did last year. He changed the grip on his sweeping breaking ball. It's getting better later action right now. "
  9. Ask JR ??? 2029-2034
  10. Why do you keep acting like JR hadnt capped the spending and Robert's salary being gone was not the only way for Getz to spend another $20M ? Have you not been paying attention to the reality of this team.I understand why youre not willing to accept it but why question another fan about decisions that are not in his control ? Wish casting wont make JR spend more than he has budgeted.
  11. It seems to me there is a simple reason he didnt get tried in LF but as fans we are not privy to every decision made. That does not mean the Sox didnt think of it. Who knows maybe Sosa didnt want to or he's just not athletically what they had in mind for the position. Neither are most of the guys you mentioned and Benintendi. However , the Sox started 1-5 and what are they now 6 and 10 so playing .500 because of a big turnaround by the pitching staff and perhaps better defense including the OF. Certainly wasn't because of the hitting. They miss Teel, Baldwin ,Vasil ,Hays maybe even Periera. They actually have 5 OF who can play better defense than a guy with limited athletic skills and they might throw Antonacci into that mix. Some of the people suggesting he be tried in LF are the ones saying he had no value. If you think he couldve had more value playing in the OF that notion is rather odd. He was probably mentioned more than anyone besides Beni who had no defensive value. It's just hard to imagine that a guy with the Sox as long as Sosa was here (9 yrs) wouldnt have been tried in the OF if he had any desire to play out there or exhibited any of the skills necessary for it. Hell some people are bothered that Antonacci is playing LF even after he displayed the right attitude and said he'll play anywhere he's needed. The whole positional versatilty argument is odd here amongst fans. Most organizations draft a lot of middle of the diamond types who are the ones with enough athletic ability to do that. The Sox have done it a lot more than they used to. In general thats a good thing. Sosa likely just didnt fit the modern day profile for it nor is he particulay skilled at getting on base.
  12. Not just once but constantly.I guess they figure Andrew Vaughn did it very poorly why not Sosa. Just another imagined shortcoming by the fan geniuses along with not teaching outfielders to call flyballs which kids are taught from the time they get on the diamond.
  13. Can't blame him. Maybe if the team can tread water through the injuries and keep it close to .500 and within 5 games of 1st place then if those young guns are ready you bring them up maybe to start or whatever . But like with the hitters you don't want to waste service time when it serves no real purpose. Most of them aren't ready now. I think they want them coming up in waves maybe after the trade deadline. Antonacci is basically less than a month into showing them he has a bit of power and learning a new position. Schultz , Smith & McDougal need to show they can keep it up with the good games overshadowing the bad ones which there will be in Charlotte. That can't be helped. Braden Montgomery is also only in his 2nd pro season like Hagen Smith. Maybe the 3rd wave is Cholowsky, Bonemer, Oppor while the rest are all gaining experience hovering around .500 or higher in 2028.
  14. You were watching the game when they brought in Dominquez weren't you ? Maybe you turned it off after he walked a guy but the rest of that inning went well. Struck out Witt on 3 pitches to end the game.
  15. I don't know why you bother. This place is a s%*# show. Nothing will do but perfection. People act like collisions don't happen in other organizations. Most collisions happen when 2 guys are going hard to the ball. That's called hustle, giving effort. You're arguing with people who call themselves Sox fans but act more like Cub fans dwelling on every little thing that will give them satisfaction that everything the Sox do sucks. Acting like puppies crying through the night, crying every time a reliever let's someone get on base. No posting about I hope those kids they are all right. Just another chance to berate the organization. Drunk posting like it's some badge of honor. Taking glory in football sample sizes . No sympathy or even empathy. Nothing except their own suffering matters. I sure hope the Ishbia's don't read this crap. Wouldn't surprise me if they called the whole thing off . We don't deserve an owner with money who might be willing to build a new ballpark who might have a grand vision of a White Sox resurrection in the heart of the city. Not an ounce of patience in a game that requires it especially when we all know whats going on. But sure lets all act like the front office isn't on Pork Chop Hill. Tactical futility at it's finest. We won the game but you'd be hard pressed to find many kind words in that game thread.
  16. He wasnt as bad as he's been. He made progress. He put up 3.2 innings of zeros. Was striking a lot of guys out. His command wasn't great but guys couldn't even square him enough to hit it fair.
  17. This lineup from this year is a bit different than this lineup from last year.
  18. Sosa did a very Sosa thing getting that 2nd run in.
  19. I always find it funny when people say positive regression. That seems to be a term that comes from sports. But why not just say progression or progress ? Not directing this at you .Its just one of those things .
