  1. Never a big fan of loading the bases when u have 2 outs. I know it wasn't a great matchup for Eisert but go after the hitter instead rather than taking away his ability to pitch inside.
  2. Let's build some mo off that gun down by Quero ! LFG !
  3. GameDay said he took 4 balls. Next thing I know it's strike 3. I got the game on TV .TV is a batter behind game day so I wasn't paying attention to the actual pitches on my screen.
  4. I have make sure I tune in for the 1st inning magic .
  5. Give him a chance. I don't think he a 30-40 base stealer. Improvements he could make is probably chase rate.Im good with how he's been doing. He getting used to the big leagues. He's doing fine.
  6. But not an original White Sox and he hasn't exactly endeared himself to fans either.
  7. This isn't 4 years ago when he was the big shiny prospect. All they have to do is look at attendance to see there aren't any fan favorites except the young guys who come up and do well. Quero jersey sales will shortly be the most popular. So no I don't believe you. He's just the most recognizable name next to Robert and it's very likely both will be gone next in less than 8 months.
  8. You can't get into a ball park with a pitchfork ! Try a plastic spork !!
  9. He's been getting some player wins with the young guys. Wouldn't hurt to try for 1 more. It isn't a loss if Vaughn is sent down. You can call him back up if Elko flops and he shows he can hit again which shouldn't be that hard for him in Charlotte. Maybe that WTP becomes HRP down there .
  10. You do know that small sample defensive stats stats for super utility guys are almost always bad because you need a large sample size of plays to get a true read on a player. Even when Vaughn was playing LF in the midst of all the Vaughn fawning, people where saying ooh he's not doing so bad out there. He's like an average LFer. I was like you people gotta be kidding me. There is no way he will ever be a full time OF who is average defensively. The more he plays the more he will be exposed. Point is you need bigger sample sizes to get an accurate defensive picture and even then his value is in his utility ability to play the positions passably with his offensive switch hitting ability . Everybody has flaws . Let's not blow them up. We're trying to avoid the players with lots of flaws and little upside.
  11. I think Sosa's actually been fine at 2nd base. He's made a lot of diving plays, gets up quick, makes a strong throw, turns the DP well. I just think it's funny when Harold yells if he does make an error like don't ever play him at 2nd ever again. People need to let go of their biases.Btw Kelenic passed through waivers again and back in the Braves system.😋
  12. Make a point then don't make up stuff and say Sox are on a list when they aren't when you give a link to that list. And saying the Sox could've had 15 of the 25 on the list is a big fat nothing, when all other teams theoretically could've had them too.
  13. Possibly. Maybe he's still clinging to hope for trading Dalbec, Rojas, Vaughn , Robert, Tauchman, Drury, Karinchak and whatever other relievers perform decently. There's just a bit too much veteran deference right now. It's great Baldwin and Meidroth, Sosa, Smith and recently Vargas seem to found some sturdier footing but there's more that needs to be done if they want to get some more fannies in the stands once the weather warms up. Right now the line they're walking looking for turds to turn into silver is a little too fine for my liking. Elko isn't that much younger than Vaughn and unless he wants the Sox to continue losing at another record setting pace he's got to take a chance on getting some more hitting into the lineup . Send Vaughn down.
  14. Tatis isn't on the list . Tatis Jr isn't on that list and I have no idea who Aranda is but he isn't on that list either, so there are, as I said, no ex Sox property on that list. The rest is just garbage conjecture that can apply to any team in baseball for those players, unless it was a 1st rd pick where the Sox especially had an earlier pick which would also apply to numerous teams depending on the player and where they were drafted. Do the words draft and crapshoot and hardest sport to assess talent mean anything to you ? I'm not absolving the White Sox or Getz or Hahn or KW of having bad scouts or development people through the years of Reinsdorf's reign but wow just wow. That is some, umm, abstract thinking or just plain Yellow Journalism.
  15. Caulfield riding the wave of popular negativity now has license for all kinds of wild theories. Guess Madrigal was Jesus Christ himself and got crucified except he couldn't perform any miracles with his baseball playing abilities. That was Getz job apparently to perform that miracle. If you can pinpoint who were the biggest advocates of Madrigal but wasn't Hahn and KW the biggest wigs in charge then next to JR of course who loved David Eckstein so he could've insisted on the pick. Wild speculation is tabloid journalism or tabloid posting. There's a reason why they used to call that Yellow Journalism.
  16. Arguably 15 of those guys could have been or were White Sox at one point or another ? Wait what ? I don't see a single ex White Sox among the current 25-50 OPS leaders . If you're arguing that 15 of those 25 guys could have been drafted by the Sox instead what's your point ? That kind of thing happens all the time .Mike Trout was passed up by a lot of teams. If 3rd round or later draft picks become stars every team passes on them multiple times. Just out of curiosity can you name the 15 players you are talking about and please point out the ex Sox I can't see among the 25. If you're talking about international players again only 1 team ends up with them and the rest don't. Same thing with free agents or guys traded. I'm trying to see a point but I'm failing. You just took the top 25-50 OPS leaders, went through the list, and determined the Sox could have had 15 of them of the 25 ?
  17. Of course he is.He's a minor leaguer at the highest level of the minors who has never had a single AB in MLB who is currently tearing the cover off the ball. Is that not a prospect ?
  18. And .732 is his slugging percentage not his OPS which is something like 1.164 give or take.
  19. My last response to you on this matter. Look, maybe you don't comprehend it's a rebuild. All you are doing is wasting money on lousy players because you aren't going to win anything . What's your solution ? You cry about bad players like Maldonado or Nicky Lopez but I never hear you give Getz any credit for the development of Crochet when what he did last year was a major shock to most everyone in baseball. Maybe you chalk that up to Getz just being there or some such garbage BS. You aren't the only one to cheapen success or development stories by claiming it was all Crochet. It's always the FO fault when players don't develop but never get the credit for when they do. A 12th rounder like Baldwin , how often do you say nice pick and development story win for everyone involved. Who is everyone clamoring for right now on this board ? Tim Elko a 10th round draft pick . Cannon is a 3rd rounder. Davis Martin is a 14th rounder. Did most of us want Vaughn gone this off season. Yes we did. Waste of $6M right ? Easy to say but most GMs in the same position in a rebuild probably give their 1st round pick one last chance to turn it around. You wanted him gone , I wanted him gone. I don't know if Rowdy Tellez or anyone else available was any better or any cheaper but I'm sure you can tell me now that some other bum 1st baseman picked up cheaper and producing more than Vaughn at this current moment in time is out there for you to cherry pick with the great gift you have for hindsight. Sorry if I have trouble comprehending that every dollar you spend on a bunch bad players has to be a rousing success. Why didn't my $5M player do as good as that $2M guy that other team has . If you have some kind of magic formula to prevent injuries or to pick out the best bums to sign during a rebuild please enlighten me. Gaze into your crystal ball and tell me who to sign in the off season to minor league contracts and what to pay for the guys who you think should get MLB contracts. You couldn't do it any better .You wouldn't even come close. You don't have the resources to know every single player in the minors and majors. You'd never trade a minor leaguer. No rebuilding team should ever trade a young guy unless it's for another minor leaguer right ? I'm surprised I haven't heard you giving us status reports on the minor leaguers traded away last year or this off season. Are they not doing well enough for you to crow about how stupid Getz was to trade them ? Lord knows you love you some small sample size success stories to raise a stink about be it a cheap veteran pitcher who the Sox cut or some youngster he traded away who has a month of success in the minors. You're the king of turning molehills into mountains. You need a lot to go right to be great and a lot to go wrong to suck. It's not all based on the wisest of decisions. Luck is a huge factor especially when you're dealing with the worst players in baseball being the only ones you can sign because your owner this year decided to cut payroll even more than last year. So yeah I'm going to cut the GM some slack because he can't figure out which 20 bums are going to outperform the other 200 bums available. Who was your pick to sign during the Rule 5 draft ? Did you pick Shane Smith ? I know I didn't.
  20. Had to be sitting fastball the way he connected with it up in the zone but right down the middle. He tattooed it.
