Need some runs this inning.

Some hard hit balls that inning against a pitcher getting his slider and sinker up but result is 3 up 3 down.

Ganeday watching . Don't see any change ups being thrown. Mostly 2 and 4 seamers and sliders with an occasional curve.

Giolito 4 seamer topping out at 92 now. Anyone know what it was to start the game ?

I'll never take a hiatus from baseball. I took one from paying for it on TV but that's all. Besides I got Roku now and I'm liking the MLB channel where I can name my fav team and then watch all the in game highlights that you find on gameday only with less commercials on Roku and a whole lot of highlights from Statcast, interviews and whatnot, on a bigger screen then my computer while also being able to watch the free game of the day. Now I'm hoping that the MLB.TV package for one team drops in price from $89.99 . Still seems a little high when you consider all the different ways for people to watch now on devices like roku, amazon etc. Seems like MLB will be raking in money with all the new ways to watch games. Once those kind of services because the norm satellite and cable are going to have to make major programming changes or become dinosaurs. Watched an interview with Palka on a segment called The Edward Jones Batting Cage where they had people either write in questions for him or actually get on screen and ask them and I know one of them on screen was a soxtalk guy. MySoxSummer and one who wrote in maybe was too ,whitesoxjon .

He's just becoming a better hitter over all hitter. He still hasn't had a season with 300 AB's yet. He should make it this year.

So you really think there's anything to be gained by continuing to evaluate guys like Avi, Palka Davidson Engel Sanchez Cordell Rondon Delmoico Narvaez Smith or do we see any of then traded or nontendered ? Rodon and Abreu we trade them in the off season, a year from now ?

So you really think the Sox are going to do nothing for the next 2 years ? Is that what you're trying to tell me? What do you see them trying to accomplish in the next few years besides failing to get big name free agents .

He's not blocking them . He's just getting playing time because he missed so much time and the Sox probably are hoping he can show something to other teams that might be interested in him. You can't be serious about him blocking them for the last 20 or so games of the season. You have some serious issues about what you think blocking someone is. While the Sox continue to suck you can't say anyone is being blocked . That's a term to use when you have good players trapped by a good player at the same position on a good team. Smith is a non-entity who is 30 and not part of the future. Him and Castillo can be traded .Narvaez could be traded as can Collins or Zavala but since we suck we can still wait to make those decisions just as you recommended, wait and evaluate. Maybe this was a career year for Narvaez and he is still a bad defensive catcher. He is not a top prospect, He can continue to share time with Castillo next year IF they are both around and I'm betting Castillo won't be.

I don't think Castillo will block anyone. Catcher is one position where its easy to share time because of the rest that position needs. I think the Sox look to move him and at worst he shares the position with Narvaez until the trade deadline. Castillo was better defensively and a veteran to help young pitcher develop was the main point of getting Castillo but, surprise, the Sox once again ended up making a poor choice, mostly wrong by luck, but still wrong. At least it wasn't an overly expensive wrong choice . That's the whole point of signing more bridge guys. If they suck you don't cripple payroll and if they do good you can flip them.

Some of it is I'm sure but he has 124 K's swinging so if all 124 were right down the middle his hot zone on those pitches would not be as good as it is now . He's swinging and missing all pitches in the zone just a lot less on the ones down the middle.
