I was at the game with my daughter trying to get as much time with her before she moves to Petaluma and told her I felt Moncada would hit a HR today, My first thought was Scioscia should've opened the inning with a lefty. He didn't and Moncada made them pay. Also wondered why Rodon was replaced by Minaya . Thought the Sox might've made a trade. Really good game to attend.

Think the Yankees may part with Brandon Drury ? Would we even want him ? How good is his D at 3rd ? He had some decent years in AZ. and for a youngish guy who already had 2 good years in the NL it must suck being buried in the Yankee system. Yanks are looking for some controllable relief arms.

This is it. Giolito solid start. Abreu just needed a near 90 degree night in Anaheim to start hitting. 2 stolen bases and 2 balks lead to 4 bases advanced by the Sox. Lot of arms used by the Sox in relief but all got the job done. I'll be at the game Tuesday .

You brought up the difference in the OPS in your first post then proceeded to say you don't disagree with the sample size being too small. So why bring up the difference in the OPS in the first place ? Would just be easier to say you jumped the gun and maybe didn't check how small a sample his road games were but you continued to try to dance your away around it by using Moncada as an example because, yea, gotta keep your eyes on the splits. Next time just bring ups the splits when they are actually relevant.

Keep your eyes on the Mariners/Sox series. Mariners could use him if they don't aim a little higher like for Britton or Familia. But that's the case with most teams. Soria may not get moved until we see where some other guys go.

0.83 ERA in 22 appearances since May 21 for Soria. Add that to the other good things with the high K rate and high swing and miss rate he may actually be a good 8th inning gamble for some teams .

Yea gotta be Baltaesque here and keep repeating that there's no chance Abreu goes to the Yankees.Bird just had an outstanding week and they will wait to close to the deadline to see if he's found his stroke after being injured much of the season. With Moustaskas on the block also the Yanks would probably rather have him play 1st base than Abreu because he's also left handed and most likely much better defensively than Abreu. Without his hit tool ABreu is pretty worthless as a trade chip. I hope he breaks out of the slump in a big way not just to be a more valuable trade chip but because Abreu is a class human being and the face of the White Sox .

The Bannon kid looks like a guy we would love to have in our system. Very high OBP. power, near .300 BA and supposedly a decent fielding 3rd baseman.

Haven't the Braves already said they are not sacrificing the future for one season ? Doubtful they make any significant moves. That is one team that really understands competing over the long term even if it didn't result in as many Championships as they would have liked.

As an older man who loves his rock and roll it sometimes seems odd to me that white kids immerse themselves in rap which can get very offensive towards women and can be offensive and hateful with regards to violence drugs and gays and other things where the words are certainly reflective of an urban black upbringing. When a white kid starts spouting these lyrics it's so strange knowing its certainly not a world they understand and more just going with the flow of popular culture. When I was a kid the music wasn't as segregated as it is now and certainly wasn't as offensive in general and then there's the whole twitter thing where your errors in judgment as an ignorant young man can bite you in the ass as an adult when you are much more educated and less ignorant and move on from the ignorant or even hateful cultures you may have been surrounded by as you grew up . I don't know if as a society we are becoming more tolerant or less tolerant but these are not simple times for the youth of America.

A lot of that AAA team will be gone. Would hate seeing Eddy Alvarez go without a few games up at the end of this season

They may undervalue Clivan since their top 2 pitchers are highly valued and Clivan while a good pitcher doesnt have a sexy K rate at all. My problem with Nolan is that he's not a goodd fielder atm and we need more guys who can actually catch the ball.

If he gets packaged with someone I'm hoping its to the Indians. They have some nice prospects. Maybe Nolan Jones at 3B and/or Aaron Civale. Indians top 3 would all seem out of reach unfortunately.
