Machado signs with Padres 10/300
Just looking for my own personal silver lining. I was prepared for this. Wasn't expecting it but hey when you follow the same organization for 50 years you kind of get an idea not to get your hopes up too high. Anything good that happens I treat it as a pleasant surprise.

Maybe it's time to start a boycott the home opener campaign.

Machado signs with Padres 10/300
At least now I don't have to argue with all our members who thought 2020 was going to be the year to supplant the Indians and how Joc Pederson playing CF was such a good idea.

Yep probably a lot of incentive clauses about All Star games and MVP awards and maybe even one of those Frank Thomas specials about diminishing skills. ALways stuff to lower the amount when money talks and bullshit walks.

This X infinity. Yes Hahn can be blamed but ultimately it always comes down to Reinsdorf each and every time without a doubt.

Way back on page 236. No one gave it a 2nd thought back then . Fathom was the only one to say anything.

Sox hitters already ready for camp // Burger is hitting off tee
Reynaldo Lopez posted a minuscule 1.38 ERA over his final seven starts last season, achieving a goal of getting his season ERA under 4.00 at 3.91. The right-hander's early target for 2019 takes that number a step lower. "Last year my ERA was a three something," said Lopez through interpreter Billy Russo. "I would like to have an ERA below three." Everything coming from Merkin from whitesox.xom

Ex-teammate/current Cub Brad Brach on Machado
if you read the comments it's like Yahoo deliberately prints comments from yahoos. I cannot believe that just about every single comment about Machado could be that negative.

Machado signs with Padres 10/300
My bad. I knew something was off when I wrote that, Maybe I wrote Larry Himes or just thought about doing it . I just know I remember thinking over and over he's ready call him up let's go . Time flys. Frank at AA and Eloy between AA and AAA the stats are similar. The only thing that separates them is the OBP. Eloy .384 which is great but Frank's was other worldly at .487. Frank almost had as many walks as he did hits. Frank was extremely disciplined and you know he also took his fair share of K's looking much like Moncada . Difference is Frank knew what to do with the pitches in the strike zone. Frank's discipline helped him excel right away. Eloy is going to have to learn to take his walks but he also knows what to do with pitches in the zone . It'll be interesting to see how pitchers attack him. Will they try to get him to chase stuff away or go in on his hands ? I'm going to guess they rather not see him extend those long arms so I suspect he'll get jammed a lot and also get a few HBP's. Both pretty smart hitters and that will serve Eloy well.

Eloy reminds me of Frank Thomas without all the walks. I wanted Big Frank up so bad I think I wrote Kenny Williams and said what are you waiting for ? Both with the hit for average and hit for power stats in the minors.

Harper to Phillies 13yr/330 mil
Exactly. All the earlier tweets left out the "could be" part of it. I could be Rick Hahn.

2018-9 MLB off season free agency thread
And 6 of those guys are Boras clients.

Harper to Phillies 13yr/330 mil
Sure it's possible. Boras does have other unsigned clients. Boras gets a big pay day too when Harper signs and maybe other clients getting a little impatient and thinking Boras might be neglecting them for Harper. Just looked it up among Boras' other clients : Carlos , Gio and Marwin Gonzalez, Jose Iglesias, Austin Jackson, Dallas Keuchel. Mike Moustakas. Matt Wieters,Carlos Gomez, Martin Maldonado Denard Span. That's 11 of his clients still unsigned.

It's the lack of neurofeedback therapy. Giolito can recommend someone ; Trauma, stress, injury can cause the brain to get “stuck” using dysfunctional pathways. At the LA Neurofeedback Center we focus on “rebooting” the brain and getting it out of these frozen patterns and back to functioning at an optimal level.”

Speed pitch challenge at Grate Field
76 was top speed that tied and the pitch off 73 beat 72 . According to our lurker winner Tom it was actually eerily quiet and uncrowded. It's even possible that they had more prizes available than contestants since 11th-100th: won two ticket vouchers for select 2019 White Sox home games.
