  1. Still going with this I see even though several posters called you out about that pitch and how it wasn't on Narvaez It was mostly on the ump and even Rodon for missing his spot. In no way shape or form should Narvaez be blamed. That pitch couldn't even have been framed.
  2. Have you contacted the negro league museum ? I think your film would be a great addition to what ss2k5 posted above, the la vida baseball exhibit. Also seems perfect for PBS . And as far as exposure goes have your tried a Wayne's World approach like public access TV ?
  3. Exactly. Some posters just jump on the Narvaez can't frame bandwagon and blame him for every non strike call on a strike. I've seen umps miss calls like that many many times when a pitcher misses his spot and the catcher has to lunge to catch it.
  4. I hope you were actually watching the game and not just watching game day. Any nitwit could just blame the catcher for that without actually using his eyes to see what happened. As i have said many times when talking about pitch framing you cannot frame a pitch that you are lunging for and many strike calls are missed when a catcher has to move from where he set up to where the pitch actually ends up. In this case Narvaez was set up inside and the pitch ended up on the outer half and a bit above the belt. ( not right down the middle but also not on the outer edge . The ball was all clearly in the zone. Narvaez had to do a quick lunge across the plate caught it of course in the zone but lunging causes momentum and his glove after he caught it continued out of the zone. It is nuts to blame the catcher on that.
  5. Hey I don't make this stuff up . Ok yeah the birthday stuff I did. But seriously in todays game that's what they said about his uncle just paying the guy for the ball.
  6. Turns out his uncle didn't catch it. Just paid the guy who had it .
  7. Hey some cluster luck . 3 hits in a row equaling 2 runs.
  8. I was fine with what you said as it was more about a movie character than anything else. I'm just reminding people of how really good he is. Before he even signed with the Sox he was called "the best player on the planet, and that's no exaggeration." by a scout.
  9. I know I was being crazy with my comparisons but hell dream big if you are going to dream at all. The kid has tremendous speed and power. He has elite bat speed. He is a great defender and base stealer.Between all the time he lost waiting to come here and the injuries he lost a lot of development time. I think he'd already be tearing up AA if he hadn't. If he can manage to stay healthy for a full season we will get to see someone who will spark our imaginations and when paired with Eloy could reach great heights with the Sox.
  10. Great to hear Burdi talking about feeling good and seeing him progressing. Next year should be fun/very interesting with Eloy , Kopech and Burdi all with the Sox by May if everything goes just right. We/I kind of forget Burdi was already near ML ready before he got hurt.
  11. It's called ceiling for a reason. If it makes you happy I'll throw Clemente in there.
  12. As long as we are being crazy. Imagine Roberts ceiling for a minute. Griffey, Trout, Mays (Willie) and Mantle all pop into my head.
  13. If I have to read you saying he's flying open and guessing for (literally) the 100th time I'm going to ,,, well I don't know .. read it again I suppose
  14. Fantastic home stand for Engel and he seems to be taking the race for the highest batting average with Moncada pretty seriously.
  15. I hope he can keeping wearing 16 as his uniform number in the majors. I always wore it because my old favorite Sox OF Ken Berry wore it.
  16. Seems pretty obvious to me. It's called baby steps. Can't expect the guy after major control problems just to go out and throw a gem. Let him take his time make progress every week even if it doen't show up in the box score. Tonight was a good beginning.
  17. When is the last time a major free agent signed with the team that traded for him ? There's a chance it happens with Machado and the Dodgers but I think Dodgers still had a shot at him as a free agent regardless. They just wanted him to try to win a World Series this year. The Sox are not in that position. This seems to be always brought up never happens.
  18. People complain " how come we can't have a rookie come up and produce right away.? " Here he is . Meet Daniel Palka. Tied for 1st for the rookie lead in HR's.
