Don't think you have to worry about that. Sox should be the favorite . -

They need that and some guys to hit and the BP to be much better to get to 63. Guess you don't want another 100 loss season, but it's not likely. Plenty of games are decided once the SP are out of the game. That means BP has to hold the other team while the offense picks it up against top relievers. This is where managers earn their money. -

Certainly getting a good look at Amaya before they release him again. For anyone hoping Baldwin starts the season as the starting SS it's not looking good. Maybe he'll play more when they start ramping up the time on the field for guys who'll be on the 26. -

Lots of good pitching by the Sox the last 2 games .Only 10 hits total and 3 runs in 17 innings. I expect to see Gallo and Dalbec gone soon. Let them see if they can catch on with another team. -
Shane Smith has taken over as story of spring

We're a community here. I don't understand.Do you want me to enjoy the victory in silence or just not want me to shut up about those who keep reminding us that everything sucks while you make snarky comments about other members of the community. I also don't understand why being positive about some things bothers you so much. It's my favorite team . It's more like a child to me who has its highs and lows as we all do. But that child will always know I love it because I won't put him down all the time . Positive reinforcement. I am not alone on this board about feeling this way despite you wanting me to enjoy it on my own. I'm not hurt that the large majority thinks the Sox are bad. They are bad, but ,again, like many that's not our focus. If your purpose is to tell me dreams don't come true very often I think it's very reasonable to expect the team will gradually get to a .500 record from good pitching and below average hitting. That's only a dream because it's not happening yet, but it will. So continue to try to crush dreams and kick puppies if you must because it's your duty or you feel compelled . I see things very clearly and I profess ignorance for what I can't see or don't know. -

For sure but the game thread was a nice respite from the usual everything sucks stuff . We can dream on a new owner and great pitchers and some actual ML hitters . -

Key year for Taylor. It'll be his shot to show he can pitch at least 5 innings and pile up some innings and stay healthy. Something usually goes wrong but they could have a great 1-2-3 punch at the top of the rotation in a couple of years. -
Why not ? It doesn't happen very often and it may have been their best game of the Spring. Sox had 11 hits and hit for the cycle Korey Lee provided the double and triple while Vargas had the HR. With the HR and a single Vargas looking cromulent hitting .294 with .839 OPS. Lee continued his good spring. Robert had a single and walk and Sosa also had hit. 3-7 with RISP. Shane Smith pitched 3 innings 0 runs, 1 hit, 0 walks, 5 K. Grant Taylor bookended a nice performance all around by Sox pitchers by pitching 2 innings getting all 6 outs via the K , 1 walk ,0 hits . All together Sox pitchers struck out 16 Dodgers. Shane Smith K'd Ohtani twice. Sox committed 0 errors

Probably not.Every organization has this happen.

Dodgers/Sox Opening Day lineup preview?

He may eventually get to top 20. I think people who usually do the rankings just aren't likely to put him that high on what would be many listing him in the top 100 for the 1st time. They usually are slow admitting or recognizing pitchers without pedigree and previous doubts have been overcome so quickly without a bigger body of work. Hitters move faster. A 50+ spots move up will be plenty for most of them health and performance permitting. Are we hearing anything as far as how many innings they'd like to get him this year ? 100 perhaps ? -

That would be a big jump. He's not on any top 100 lists yet is he ? Maybe by the time the mid season lists come out he'll be around 50 ish. -

Taylor , Schultz and Smith all might arrive at the same time and all be in the rotation in 2026. Would be cool to get some surprisingly good pitching this year among the starting pitching and try to trade for some bats in the offseason. Taylor struck out that last hitter to end the game 3 times. All 6 outs by K . -

Eventually he does but he'll be a rookie. If he can get on base at a .350 pace I'll take walks as a substitute for hits. -

Looks like Sox catchers are the only position that's hitting good in their small sample sizes. Narvaez with 2 hits today. Thaiss , Lee, Hackenberg, Quero and Teel might be around a .300 BA as a group. -
We really need to know the guys who are fine with playing young guys who name the young guys they want playing so later we can know they weren't rushed or Getz destroyed their careers.

White Sox asking for "top prospects" for Robert
CaliSoxFanViaSWside replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
That was only part of the fear with Cease. They weren't getting great offers on him because of his down year so , to me, it was more the chance of him being the 2023 version than the 2022 version. When you're trading for a top of rotation pitcher you make decent offers. If you're trading for a #4 guy with a 2nd place finish in the recent rear view mirror your offers are a lot less. If you hold him and he still pitches like the #4 guy that 2022 season is even farther in the rear view mirror and offers get worse.
