  1. QUOTE (shipps @ Apr 23, 2015 -> 03:16 PM) There are a lot of "if's" and you have to roll the dice somewhere. Pace has said the QB is the most important piece to building a winning team. Certainly they don't have much confidence that Jay will ever be the guy. Draft a QB every year and you hipe to eventually hit on someone capable. He's mentioned he might do that. Doesn't mean it has to be in the first round. I wonder if Grayson is there in the 2nd if Pace will take him? I'm generally not a fan of QBs in rounds 2-4, but these guys know more than me.

QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 23, 2015 -> 05:32 AM) I can do both pretty comfortably. I like being able space out shows to one a week, especially something like Mad Men, which I don't think I'd be able to binge on since so much goes on each episode. I love The Flash and would binge on it but am fine with one a week. But I'm grateful to be able to go through DareDevil and OITNB. Or experience Buffy over the course of a few months like I did last summer. I think the idea of a 22 episode season should be a thing of the past. There really is no new TV season. New stuff pops up in the Fall, WInter, Spring, and Summer. Cut the seasons down to 13 episodes. Totally agreed. My guess is the networks will continue doing the Fall-Spring 22 episode staples, in part because they (likely) have an older audience who prefer and are used to that. There's utility to having both the marathon viewing binges and a weekly staple. I look forward to my Sunday nights with Silicon Valley and Last Week Tonight. Though obviously for the latter you can't have it all debut on Netflix at once. Silicon Valley has been very funny so far. The second episode felt less forced than the season premiere.
  3. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 17, 2015 -> 10:18 AM) Local H tonite at HOME bar in Arlington Heights for 7 bucks. Anyone else? How was that show?
  4. QUOTE (Big Hurtin @ Apr 22, 2015 -> 07:11 AM) So what time did the game end? I saw this morning that it took 3 OTs, wow. About 1:15. Take the day off work, Rock!
  5. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Apr 21, 2015 -> 07:46 AM) If your business pays employees salaries, then you are a business with employees. If you are just have a business and are pocketing the profits, then you are self-employed. What about a business with several independent contractors? Would that be included, or no? I can see how in some cases they perhaps should be included to be true to the spirit of the statistic, but there's also utility to having a bright-line rule of only considering businesses with actual employees.
  6. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Apr 19, 2015 -> 10:55 PM) I finally have an accepted offer on the place near Irving Park and Kimball, pretty happy with the price and really happy to be moving on with a place that I really like and is completely within my budget. Awesome! Now LittleHurt has a near-onsite emergency maintenance guy for his property.
  7. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Apr 17, 2015 -> 08:22 AM) My father-in-law is self-employed, and he, along with all the other self-employed people he knows in his trade had anywhere from 25-60% increases in their premiums from 2013-14 due to their coverages having to be changed to be compliant. So your entire argument is based on a minuscule segment of a specific industry? Again, I'm not saying you're wrong, or that it's even probable you're wrong. I have no idea. That's the point. What's the trade?
  8. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Apr 17, 2015 -> 09:13 AM) Student loan debt renders that whole definition useless. If you're making 80k with 100k in student loan payments, you're not living an 80k lifestyle That's exactly what I was thinking.
  9. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Apr 16, 2015 -> 02:33 PM) No, it's not the entire middle class, but aside from young single people, there are a lot of middle aged self-employed people who got screwed over in this. Also, no need to increase taxes on anybody (though I am in favor of some combination of a higher taxrate/closing loopholes for the top 1%). Every Senator in favor of Obamacare could have easily found enough unnecessary Executive Branch agency jobs in their home states that could have been cut in order to pay for this, but no, we have to screw over some middle class folks rather than cut the bloated government. You keep saying this. Part of me thinks you might be right. But you just keep saying it without providing any reasons, much less any support for it. So I can't evaluate whether you are right or not, and what options there might be to fix it. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Apr 16, 2015 -> 04:59 PM) http://kff.org/health-costs/report/health-...dle-class-more/ Is a median income of $44,000-$88,000 for a family of four really considered middle class still? My rough, rough estimate would be something like $75,000-$175,000 for that family size.

QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Apr 16, 2015 -> 06:10 PM) I'll need to get around to reading some E Leonard at some point. Agreed, I've thought the same thing.
  11. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 15, 2015 -> 10:53 AM) Many people thought they didnt show any real evidence that he actually killed the guy, and they are partially right. However the circumstantial evidence is pretty overwhelming. That's because of Massachusetts' Joint Venture law, prosecution didn't have to prove he actually pulled the trigger.
  12. Scott f***ing Darling. That right pad save on the Preds PP halfway through the 3rd. Wow.
  13. for the reasons shysocks stated. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Apr 14, 2015 -> 12:32 PM) Flashbacks to the LSAT. Ha, exactly! I'm weird and logic games was my favorite section though.

QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 15, 2015 -> 04:55 PM) I thought it was one of the best finales in the past decade.mthings tied up. Little sentimental. There was never a lot of personal hatred between Boyd and Raylan and their last moment was fitting. Not sure how I felt abou Ava turning out to be pregnant but the way Raylan protected her was clever.
  15. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Apr 14, 2015 -> 09:19 AM) In my personal opinion, it's true. I wouldn't call a guy that's had hardly been in office a "hotshot senator". The only reason most of us had ever heard of him was because we're from Chicago, but he burst onto the national scene seemingly overnight to secure a primary victory and then the presidency. I think it's easier to call the new guy a "hotshot senator." Best comp right now is probably Cory Booker. I agree we knew more about him since we lived in Chicago, but as SS pointed out, he really broke out with the 2004 DNC pitch.
  16. I'm curious as to the difference in those entering the insurance market now vs. a decade ago. Starting with lower rates/better plans? Smaller year-over-year increases general? Too early to tell those things yet, but I'd like to see how that plays out.
  17. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 14, 2015 -> 01:56 PM) This is as deep of a team as the Hawks have had since their first cup win. The thing is this group has never really gelled. Hopefully it happens in the playoffs, but I just don't have that excited feeling about this group. These are my thoughts exactly. Hopefully Kane coming back ignites them, but there isn't that spark or swagger I'm used to seeing in the Hawks.
  18. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 13, 2015 -> 01:29 PM) Yea, it was weird. They had a 10 inch hold cutout display and if you could fit it in the hole you could fill it up. But then people were filling things like kids swimming pools and gross things like toilets and bongs. They must have just said "here is 20 bucks let me fill this for a picture" You must have read this
  19. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Apr 13, 2015 -> 05:01 PM) People were saying that last time, too. Then, Obama came out of nowhere and demolished. Everyone always says this, but is it really true? Hilary was certainly the leader at the start, but Obama didn't exactly come out of nowhere when the '08 election cycle began-- he'd been the hotshot Senator with a lot of national pub, and it wasn't surprising he ran for President.

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Apr 12, 2015 -> 11:29 PM) No Shameless anymore, but Silicon Valley started back up! I think that's the only show I have on right now on weekends. Funny, but the ridiculousness/rauchiness felt a little forced. And Richard seemed even more awkward than last year. I hope we see more Amanda Crew, and it's shaping up that way. For one she's gorgeous, but more importantly the show needs more of a female presence.
  21. QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Apr 12, 2015 -> 01:39 PM) “Where’s the miserable c*ck sucker?” (From the book “The Truth About Hillary” by Edward Klein, p. 5 – Hillary shouting at a Secret Service officer) I really hope this is about Bill. QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Apr 12, 2015 -> 01:39 PM) “I am a fan of the social policies that you find in Europe” Hillary in 1996 From the book “I’ve Always Been A Yankee Fan” by Thomas D. Kuiper, p. 76 – Hillary in 1996) I don't see how this one fits in with the rest.
  22. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Apr 11, 2015 -> 11:23 PM) Hoiberg undergoing heart surgery in a week to replace his aortic valve Is this related to the earlier heart surgery he had?
  23. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 9, 2015 -> 03:19 PM) It's gonna be a bummer to see him in the Carolina jersey. Peanut was the man in Chicago. Good luck to him. Yep, gonna be weird seeing him in their jersey. I wish him the best. Met him one time, real nice guy.
