Greece crash victims "frozen solid"..
Wait--was this flight entirely with Europe or did it originate out of the US? Sorry, I don't think so, but I'm just making sure--I have a friend who was flying last night, but he was flying to a Scandinavian country.

Celebrity Crush
QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Aug 14, 2005 -> 08:09 AM) It works for me....Does it not work for anyone else? If not, I'll put it on my photobucket for the time being.... I was going to say this before you posted the pic, because I remembered her, and yes she is hot in that cute, girl next door sort of way.

8/13 Games
JA Happ? He's pretty good. I saw him duel Glen Perkins (Twins, 1st round) last year. Good curveball, good movement, IIRC.

Which state is worse?
Don't forget Cedar Rapids and Iowa City which are essentially right next to eachother. Davenport is decent, parts of the downtown are kind of rundown, but the stuff by the river, especially around the baseball stadium, is pretty nice.

Which state is worse?
QUOTE(maggliopipe @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 04:46 PM) Cornell College- a nice but small liberal arts school in Mt. Vernon. Ah, I figured as much. Small doesn't begin to describe it. The Original OC.

Which state is worse?
QUOTE(maggliopipe @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 08:24 AM) Nebraska, but not by a lot. Iowa's saving grace is most definitely Iowa City, a very nice place. I went to college about 20 miles outside of IC and made the drive at least three times a week for food/entertainment. Other than that, every other city is an industrial s***hole. Oh, and Adair, Iowa is also great. Where'd you go to school?

Colleges
I'd say Milwaukee or St. Louis give the more "Midwestern City" feel than Chicago, but that's just me. Also, I'd pick Milwaukee over St. Louis, for the sole reason that in the late spring/summer/early fall months, it's humid like none other though. Awesome food though.

QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Aug 11, 2005 -> 03:47 AM) They sent me a letter Don't take this the wrong way, but schools send lots of people letters, and they mean zilch. Is it a great way to get to know a school? Sure. But it doesn't mean you're in or anything. I can think of a couple schools that sent me letters like that that I have no shot of getting in at. Also, don't narrow your focus so much. It's great that you're interested, but keep your options open.

That kid who fell from the balcony
See, this is why it's bad when the Yankees suck. Their drunk fans get bored with the product on the field, and do crazy things. And this is why the Yankees are always good.

School Started today
It is, I got it in my happy meal last time I went through Iowa. Just messin Heads.

School Started today
Yeah, it depends on what school you're applying to. And, obviously, B grades from a really hard Prep School will be worth more than Bs (and probably As) from some crappy rural/city school.

School Started today
Perhaps, but I think Decent test scores and Good-Very Good grades out weigh Good-Very Good test scores and decent grades.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 10:33 PM) They say anything over a 24 will get you into Illinois...good job. Higher than a 24. And if your ACT is a 32 but your GPA sucks, you probably won't get in. Grades>test scores.

Stump the Schwab
That show is awesome, and some of the stuff even the first guys out know is incredibly in depth. I'd be screwed when it comes to stuff like Tennis. However, I would give it a shot, if I could, just to see. Oh well.

July hits....
QUOTE(Texsox @ Aug 6, 2005 -> 02:53 PM) So much crud, so little time. For that Mary Kate and Ashley fan deep within your heart Tex... "So Little Time, So Much to Do, I'd rather spend one day with you. But if that day is not enough, maybe we'll keep in touch..." I'm going to cry over the fact that I still remember that theme song. And then cry some more for admitting I ever watched that show.

Ever said something wrong
I specifically liked the part in the first one where he wonders whether or not to pretend to have Tourette's. Priceless.
