QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Nov 15, 2012 -> 09:01 AM) Indeed. That show is some pretty darn entertaining television this season. My roommate and I were talking about how just when we think the show can't get any more whacked out (ie, we thought it was nuts, then they added a Nazi...and THEN they added "Anne Frank"...)...and then it turns out that Stranger and stranger every week.
  2. QUOTE (greg775 @ Nov 12, 2012 -> 11:20 PM) Talked to my friend who invests money of only the richest people and said he is "devastated" by Obama's re-election. He said he didn't want to go into it, but basically said the economy is doomed and we are in deep trouble. Just passing on what he told me. This is just like the Dow falling 300 points on Wednesday (assuming you could tie it into the election result). Both of these things the opinion on those on Wall Street, and it wasn't exactly a secret they were for Romney. So why are things like this and the Dow falling 300 points treated like some new thing? Whether or not the Wall Streeters' fears are founded or not, the fact is that these only reflect that Obama isn't liked by investment bankers.

Homeland with a solid episode. Although it looks like Finn's character might be leaving, I hope Dana keeps getting a lot of screen time. A lot of shows seem to just sort of throw a family in there as filler for the protagonist, but Homeland has done a really good job of having Dana give a simpler take on events in the show. I'm actually sort of surprised at how refreshing of a perspective it is.
  4. QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Nov 12, 2012 -> 09:14 AM) That's only the answer if you're looking for how many times you'll get the Hit 3 times followed by a Miss (HHHM). But it could also go MHHH, HMHH, or HHMH, so the answer is 32/6561, rather than 8/6561 like you have. Wait a minute. The way he set it up, I think he was right -- it didn't matter when the Miss came. Only one of them has to miss, so it's a straight (1/9)*(1/9)*(1/9)*(8/9). Granted, it's been a while since my last math class, but I think he was right.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Nov 12, 2012 -> 08:32 PM) Was anyone else genuinely happy for Richard in that dance scene? I was honestly smiling.
  6. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 12, 2012 -> 07:33 PM) But in 2012, it is news. To be fair, they might written the exact same article in 2004 and 2008.
  7. I didn't realize "cursing at an official" was a penalty. I just assumed they all did it anyway. And them talking about it while the fan gave two middle fingers was pretty funny.
  8. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Nov 11, 2012 -> 10:32 PM) Is it just (1/9) x (1/9) x (1/9) x (8/9)? Correct.

So I'm guessing that the Boardwalk and Homeland talk will be pushed back a day because of the Bears game. Good, cause I've been slow in watching the last few weeks.
  10. What's the weather like down there? Is it just gonna be crappy for them to play in, or is there a chance there could be lightning and it could get delayed cancelled? Radar made it look like lightning was possible, but forecast just says rain/snow.
  11. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Nov 11, 2012 -> 11:47 AM) yahoo server is lagging for me, its fantasy sunday dont do me like this. Yeah, Yahoo is down for me still.
  12. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Nov 11, 2012 -> 11:05 AM) I need to talk about the streak now, because this year at Indiana likely is the end. I sure hope so. We shouldn't lose a single game at home this year, and we can't. I say that in the same way Michigan, Ohio St, and MSU fans say about their teams.
  13. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Nov 11, 2012 -> 10:58 AM) I personally think over-signing should be illegal in the Big 10. And Im not sure my stance is jealousy, Indiana hasnt beat lowly Wisconsin since Jan. 31, 2007. Don't even get me started on that Brian Butch bank shot. I couldn't even complain at the time though, since I think it was less than a month after Gordon banked a huge shot in against Illinois.
  14. Seen multiple tweets that say Noah Vonleh to IU. EDIT: Yep, his high school coach confirms it.
  15. Two terrible calls down the stretch in Penn State-Nebraska, both going against Penn State. Sorta ruining an otherwise great game.
  16. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Nov 10, 2012 -> 12:23 PM) Thats just bad. Welcome to my world.
  17. What a grab by Bolser down the middle. He did really well his freshman year, had a quiet sophomore year, but has been real good again this year. Now keep this at 10 until halftime.
  18. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 10, 2012 -> 10:58 AM) For so many reasons. I feel if you're in the type of position where you know a fair amount of classified information, and you're f***ing someone you maybe shouldn't be, there's just a recipe for disaster. Maybe not as much as spy movies make out, but it's there.

So I'm gonna give that "Wedding Band" a shot. It's on TBS, I think.
  20. Ok, I expected to lose, I did not expect it to be as embarrassing as the last few years. Let's right the ship a bit, eh?
  21. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 9, 2012 -> 10:28 PM) Could they have done it any other way with Crean? Mr. Clap-a-lot? He is an attention whore. *ends anti-IU rant* Actually I thought Crean looked kinda upset about it, but I could be wrong. I thought the whole thing was pretty dumb. I never thought Crean was too much of an attention whore, or at least no more than a standard college basketball coach. Could just be my bias, though.

  23. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Nov 9, 2012 -> 03:32 PM) Ive never been to The Old Fashioned, but that is supposed to be a place to go. http://www.urbanspoon.com/lb/214/best-restaurants-Madison Old Fashioned, Mickies Dairy Bar, are 2 that almost every place recommends that Ive never been to. Great Dane is more of a brew pub type place and if I remember correctly has pool tables. Part of the problem is that when I was in Madison I was basically never sober. (edit) And Madison does not have many "clubs". Most bars are going to fall into the "dive bar" category. Drinking is something they take seriously in Wisconsin, dance movements are considered unnecessary and waste valuable drinking time. I've only been to Madison once, and I actually went to the Old-Fashioned. It was pretty good, just sat at the bar for a few hours and watched the game.
