QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Nov 29, 2012 -> 12:34 PM) Congrats!! Personally, I'd be nervous as hell moving that far away, but definitely going to be an interesting ride. Good luck!! Though, you will have to pay for MLB extra innings now I will say that if you can afford it, it's way better to get extra innings than MLB.tv. I had the latter this past year, and I'm thinking about biting the bullet and getting extra innings for next season. Just much, much better.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 29, 2012 -> 12:18 PM) Brad Biggs @BradBiggs Lance Briggs asked if players use Viagra to get an edge as Brandon Marshall said: "There would be a lot of dangerous boners on the field." That's a fantastic response.

QUOTE (illinilaw08 @ Nov 29, 2012 -> 09:35 AM) Yeah, with the weak draft class this year, I think those questions are irrelevant. You know that Zeller has at least one elite NBA skill - his motor combined with his speed will make him, at the very least, a good NBA player for a number of years. When you look at a top 3 pick (where he certainly falls as of today), if I'm Washington or Charlotte, I want to see how I can feature Zeller offensively. Can he be a pick and pop, pick and roll big? Is he strong enough to finish consistently at the rim? Does he have the ball handling skills to make himself a nightmare off the dribble? I guess my point was that, in a weird way, the vast array of options IU has offensively means that Zeller doesn't get the 20+ shots a night that would enable him to put up Michael Beasley or Blake Griffin type numbers and showcase his full offensive skillset to NBA GMs. There's certainly a difference between featuring that in workouts against a chair and doing it consistently for 30+ games. I agree with this entirely, but a question just popped into my head: An NBA team is going to have way more options than even a fantastic college team, so will that show how fits in? I suppose, though, that if you're picking a player in the top 3, you want him to be able to dominate. I think in a normal year, Zeller would be worthy of an 8-12 pick; solid, you know what you're getting, but he won't be a superstar.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 29, 2012 -> 09:56 AM) I had a dream last night that we traded Gordo finally. As for rushing Sanchez, I think you have to resist the temptation to lump him in with other players who have struggled with quick promotions just because that is what has happened recently. We need to evaluate each on a case-by-case scenario. I'm usually better at realizing it's time to cut players loose, but I just can't do that with Beckham for some reason. He's done nothing to earn this, but I still think he has it somewhere in him. He was so hot in the 2-hole right before Youkilis got here last year, so maybe that's prolonging it for me.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Nov 28, 2012 -> 08:33 PM) Brooklyn is up fifteen on Boston and Jerry Stackhouse is the leading scorer. #WTF #StillInTheNBA

QUOTE (Rex Hudler @ Nov 28, 2012 -> 06:51 PM) Glad I missed it! Would diatribe be a better word than rant? Not even. It was like two sentences each time, then on to a new topic, fortunately.

QUOTE (Rex Hudler @ Nov 28, 2012 -> 06:41 PM) I quite liked Vitale last night. But only because he didn't go on his standard rant #31 about the breakup between IU and Robert Montgomery Knight and how they should name the basketball arena after him. He didn't go on a rant per se, but he did mention twice they should rename it the Robert Montgomery Knight Center.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Nov 28, 2012 -> 06:35 PM) DJ Byrd going off. 15 points in the first ten minutes. 5/5 from 3. Yikes. Even got the bank.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 28, 2012 -> 09:36 AM) I assumed Sheehey+others. Our guards match up well defensively, however if you shut Thomas down we are done. Isn't Thomas about the same size as Reggie Bullock, or am I just way off? That's who Oladipo guarded last night. It would be either Oladipo or Sheehey, most certainly.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Nov 27, 2012 -> 09:18 PM) Indiana cherry picking their way to victory tonight. Yup, sure cherry picked that 24 point margin. Seriously? Zeller runs the break as well as any big man in college basketball. This win is what I was hoping for, but not necessarily expecting. Hollowell continues to look terrible; I'm hoping he'll look a lot better when he can just go in at the 3 instead of trying to play the 4 or even the 5.

Darius Latham committed to IU. -
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 25, 2012 -> 07:40 PM) Was he a higher level recruit or just a local kid they offered who turned out to be pretty good? Kinda both. I think he was rated as about the 10th overall PG in his class, but I'm not sure he was expected to be this good of a shooter.

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Nov 26, 2012 -> 12:08 AM) All 3 shows I watched tonight were great. Dexter: Homeland: Boardwalk: Boardwalk was good, setting up for what should be a fantastic finale.

QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 22, 2012 -> 11:56 AM) Seeing people already outside of Best Buy is sad. If I go, I wait until afternoon. Probably will peruse the blu ray deals on Amazon. Yeah, I never camp out or anything. I usually go in the afternoon to check out their super cheap movie and game deals (like the ones that have been out a while that are like $5-$10).

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Nov 21, 2012 -> 10:57 PM) My suggestion would be let each religion select a champion, then they fight to the death for it. Lupe Fiasco-Matisyahu rap battle?

What's with all the hostility? It's too early in the season with that. Badger, I agree that Crean can be arrogant. But, I think some generous leaps have to be made to go from "He's arrogant" to "He's forgetting where's he's been the past few years" to "He's totally disrespecting Michigan State and Ohio State." EDIT: Also meant to add that Crean always speaks well of other teams in the league. This is especially true of the Spartans, since Tom Izzo was pretty much his mentor and Crean was at Michigan State for so long. Rex, you're right that expectations will always be very high in Indiana; SS2K5 was alluding to that earlier. Since we've been been down for a while now, though, there's no reason for there to be a target on us in that sense. There is a reason though if you're just talking in general about the amount of press and preseason praise the Hoosiers have gotten, along with the #1 ranking. But that's true of any "trendy" team at the beginning of the year.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Nov 20, 2012 -> 11:41 PM) Just so I can quote him Im going back on my dvr: Katz said: The target is going to be on Indiana's back this season. Crean: The targets big, thats the way it is when your at Indiana. There are just a few programs in the country where it doesnt matter what your record is or what the standings are. Guys come to Indiana for that. ----------------------------- Add his arrogant smirk and he is possibly the least likable person in the world. Yeah, I get the feeling Crean would be a huge douchebag in person, but with the way he seems to have turned the program around, I'm willing to overlook it.
-
QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Nov 20, 2012 -> 11:32 PM) I cant stand Crean. Youre the #1 team, its not some mythical "Indiana is so special". Youre school rushed the court the last time they beat Wisconsin, maybe have a shred of modesty. What did he say, I missed it.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Nov 20, 2012 -> 11:28 PM) I think both teams slapped a ton and there could have been a million foul calls. The bigger issue was when the fts were 10-1, even though both teams had the same amount of fouls. That is just very unusual, to have the same amount of fouls, but 10x more fts. I felt a few times Zeller was given the benefit of being "POY" candidate on both offense and defense. Georgetown has no one to blame but themselves, they could have gone for the win, but didnt. Im not going to make excuses for Georgetown, they had their shot, they didnt take it. The reffing seemed pretty even. A few went IU's way, a few went Georgetown's way. I think the disparity was in large part due to that Georgetown didn't drive anywhere near as much as Indiana, the Hoyas just put up a lot more jump shots instead.
