  1. Great Sox offensive dispaly again. 3 hits all singles and no runs
  2. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 22, 2010 -> 09:06 PM) 4-4 now Looked like a nice piece of hitting up the middle
  3. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Sep 22, 2010 -> 08:57 PM) Manny's a late scratch. Hair hurting his head?
  4. Looks like the umpire is giving a very generous strike zone today
  5. Three ground outs in the 1st inning by Sox. Must really like to swing at the sinker
  6. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 22, 2010 -> 01:07 AM) And DJ Carasco didn't cost us one of our top prospects in Brandon Allen...not Top 3-4, but he was at least a solid prospect. KW doesn't like to admit his trades were busts. There's also the problem we will probably lose both Jenks and Putz from the roster, Sale will be in AAA in all likelihood, so we need some RH pitchers to fill out the pen. The key point here is "cost us a top prospect" I think we have about traded away all our top pitching prospects at this point and will be waiting a year or two or three for some minor league phenoms to develop ---- and then get traded
  7. I watched the game Tuesday night. What an embarassment. This team has completely melted/withered/collapsed. Mark allowed too many hits again 11 through 6 inning I believe. No offense/ clutch hitting. Manny Ramirez continues to suck. Morel shows some leather but little with the bat. Maybe next spring he will be ready offensively. Next WGN game is Friday night. I hope we have a win today so we are not looking at a 10 game losing streak. Thome hit another homer for the twins as DH - now 25 for the year. Plus I am tired of all the man love the Sox and ole Hawkeroo want to give the Twins for beating our butts all the time. They are such a great organization, etc, etc,. My response is for this organization to show they are good too and forget kissing the Twins rump.
  8. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 21, 2010 -> 11:39 PM) I don't think Bagwell's swing was nearly as out-of-the-ordinary as I think Thomas's swing was, do you disagree? The big thing for Frank is that he got away with a lot more head and body movement than most players can ever get away with. Maybe that's the way they should swing the bat? I know what you are saying though. But, my thought on the Walker issue is maybe he knows they are looking for a fall guy?
  9. QUOTE (wallyburger @ Sep 21, 2010 -> 12:19 PM) Joe Morgan? Seriously? Why? cause he is knowlegable
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 21, 2010 -> 03:38 AM) Based on our luck this year, it will be a detached bicep, or something weird like that. I know I know
  11. QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ Sep 21, 2010 -> 03:37 AM) I feel like we're playing some AAA team in an exhibition game. We failed to score again with runners in scoring position so we must be AAA also
  12. CQ with ahit runners advnce on error. Two in scoring position. Question now is can we actually deliver here
  13. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Sep 21, 2010 -> 03:32 AM) didn't his hip break down around this point last season? He grabbed his bicep
  14. cancel the post game show as Manny delivers another single. Looks like he went with the pitch though which is good
  15. QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ Sep 21, 2010 -> 03:29 AM) On the replay of the last pitch he threw, you wouldn't have known that he hurt himself. There was no body language to suggest as much. Certainly nothing like what Peavy displayed on his last pitch of the season. So from that standpoint, I'm hoping it's not all that serious either. Maybe a strain or pulled muscle is all. Let's hope so anyway
  16. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Sep 21, 2010 -> 02:20 AM) Do you really think that Gio Gonzalez would have an ERA below 4 (let alone the 3.47 he's at) pitching half of his games for the White Sox? Surprise surprise, he's been phenomenal at home (2.70 with a completely unsustainable .229 BABIP) and a bit more human on the road (4.22 ERA, a somewhat unlucky but closer to reality .322 BABIP, and 1.44 WHIP). I would say his road splits are closer to his natural talent level than his overall numbers indicate because he's pitching in a great pitching environment for half of his games. The first time he traded Gio Gonzalez, he got Jim Thome. I'd say the Sox won that one. The time he traded for Gio Gonzalez, he also got Gavin Floyd, and gave up Freddy Garcia. I'd say the Sox won that one. The second time he traded Gio Gonzalez, he got Nick Swisher. He had the right intentions, but that trade eventually ended up as terrible. I also like that you want to compare salaries for some reason. According to FanGraphs WAR calculation, Gavin Floyd has been the 18th best pitcher in the majors this year. Gavin Floyd is good, and he's dirt cheap. At the very least, you could have said something along the lines of comparing Buehrle and Gonzalez's salary, or Peavy and Gonzalez's salary. Gavin Floyd has been everything the Sox have asked for and more. I also think Gio would have been on par with all of our othr pitchers at Comiskey. Heck he already k'd two of the first three tonite so it don't matter where he throws if they can't hit the ball. I have no problem with the Floyd trade or the Thome deal and if not mistaken didn't both Floyd and YTome come at the same time from Philly? So that's one deal. Swisher's was a flop. I don't think he traded for them separately but maybe I am wrong
  17. Floyd injured is just another pile of what we have had this season for the most part. I just hope it is not serious
  18. let's hope the humiliation doesn't continue tonight this time being Gio shutting the Sox out
  19. Tyler Flowers - casuse he takes time to smell them there roses
  20. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Sep 20, 2010 -> 06:13 PM) Me too. Bad Sox baseball vs. crap on major networks, I still like to watch the Sox. BTW, there is a way to watch the Sox for out of staters. Go to Livescorehunter.com and watch via stream torrent. Meanwhile, I get to watch a very productive Daniel Hudson. And it sure appears that Hudson has been very productive for the DBacks
  21. I know that as Sox fans we are frustrated. I was yelling last night at the TV too. The team didn't give up that's for sure.How about that drive by Konerko that went foul? Called third strike to Manny with the bases loaded in the 11th? I liked the analysis and comments by Joe Morgan about Manny's issue. Question is now do we want to take a chance of him coming back and DH'ing full ime? Whoever and whatever we need a full-time DH IMO. I would watch Sox games even if they were in last place and I would do it to the end of the season. Winter lasts a long time here
  22. I watched the Sunday game versus the Tigers and Morel looked real good with the glove and stil working on the offesne, but he just might be the main man at 3B next season. Viciedo has a lot of upside, but he is not ready. However, a lot can change over the wunter and in ST
