  1. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 02:40 PM) He does play 3B... Just saying. Then he wouldn't be any help whatsoever
  2. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 12:08 PM) He's been released by the Rays. I don't think he'll help the the Sox out much. Thoughts? He must be so bad I didn't even realize he was still with those guys
  3. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 01:48 AM) Well, when you're 6 for 40 with RISP and THEN it happens to you . . . I am running out of patience with Kotsay too
  4. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 01:40 AM) Betemit and Podsednik. Fantastic. This game in beginning to resemble fiascos of earlier in the season. Yesterdays game too. They will screw around here and lose this thing if they don't get on the ball
  5. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 01:37 AM) Wilson Betemit comes back and bites us in the ass. Wilson Betemit...
  6. QUOTE (Real @ Jun 29, 2010 -> 02:30 PM) It's a shame we'd have to offer up Hudson + probably somebody like Rethorford, for a rental player Dunn is a guy we should've paid for in the offseason, it's not hard to see what his power numbers would look like in the Cell We could have kept Jim Thome also at a real good price. He was a great fit for this team albeit limited to the DH role. I have not seen where this rotating DH idea has been all that great although the concept made sense.
  7. I would not necessarily be against acquiring the contract of Adam Dunn but not at the expense of good young players in our system. Let's grow our own for a change.
  8. Who is this Lerew feller that has this team so of balance? Another pitcher we have never seen before I take it
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 29, 2010 -> 01:22 AM) Will Andruw reach 400 homers before being released? I am not betting on it
  10. QUOTE (Wanne @ Jun 29, 2010 -> 01:21 AM) ^^^^^^^ this It's all an illusion
  11. KC's Butler rakes Sox pitching almost every game. When are they going to figure him out?
  12. What's going to affect us the most. Ozzie giving the steal sign constantly or Buerhle giivng up 7 hits ove 3 innings? I think it's just the manager trying to make things happen and hopefully MB can settle down
  13. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 28, 2010 -> 01:29 AM) Plus there is no place for Zambrano. He would not start for us right now, nor would he unseat Jenks, Thornton, Putz, Pena or Santos in the pen. I'd have a problem making such a deal for a long reliever. Plus, don't be so ready to give up on Teahen after a bad couple of months. Plus why are we giving up 4 players for an inconsistent and kind of crazy pitcher? Now Linebrink or Williams for Carlos Z maybe, but at this point I think Linebrink might be coming back around. Zambrano not so much
  14. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 28, 2010 -> 03:18 PM) Zero chance of that happening. Maybe so- but you gotta cover the options
  15. Williams and Threet both out of options. When Bobby Jenks is back one of those two go down unless it's Lillinridge. My guess is this is debut time for Threets and Randy Williams is either traded or DFA and then picked up by anoher team. Lefties are too much in demand for bullpen duty especially to expect he will be passed over
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 27, 2010 -> 09:14 PM) Great point, Marmol was working so fast out there, Rios never did get his composure back. I'm very proud of the 9th inning effort, and we just have to start another win streak tomorrow. I'm with you Fathom! That 9th was pretty good until the ump screwed Rios
  17. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Jun 27, 2010 -> 09:35 PM) Sox lost ground to the Tigers. Anyway, the umpiring was terrible today and Gary Darling can kiss my ass. Of course Carlos Marmol is unhittable when the umpires call his pitches 8 inches out of the zone strikes. Eggsactly
  18. I think we had a couple bad calls go against us today, but this team battled in the 9th and almost pulled it off. I think I liked that a lot as far as seeing fire in this team. Interleague play or not a team just doesn't go on a tear like the Sox unless they have something going for them
  19. QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Jun 27, 2010 -> 05:35 PM) What the hell is with Kotsay starting so often, does Ozzie not realize how bad he has been?? Ozzie does seem to want to stick with his original roster guys. I reckon it's more like Kotsay is a lefty and playing the percentages though
  20. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 27, 2010 -> 04:24 AM) Is this a WGN game? Thanx. Yep and I'll be there too. See you behind the big screen
  21. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Jun 27, 2010 -> 05:26 PM) If Vizquel keeps hitting, there's no way Teahen goes back to being the everyday starter at 3B anyways. But, at Omar's age he might get exhausted playing full-time. Lilli probably is the odd man out when Teahan comes back
  22. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jun 25, 2010 -> 06:48 PM) It really feels like they're trying to salvage Randy Williams, like they see tremendous potential in his arm but just need time to work some things out with him. He hasn't pitched in 2 weeks, TWO WEEKS, I imagine he's been working heavily with Cooper all this time trying to get his s*** together for one last go of it. Ok! This is what I was going to post before I read Kalapse's statement. RW hasn't pitched for two weeks. He really only had one bad outing-or real bad depending on your point of view-and that's when the Marlins clubbed him May 23rd. Other than that he hasn't done all that bad so fitting the role of situational lefty hasn't been a debacle by any means. I think Ozzie might like him to do a couple of innings of mop up also, but really there hasn't been any need the way our starters have dominated.
