QUOTE (Pants Rowland @ Sep 17, 2008 -> 07:23 PM) Watch 2009 KC Royals be awesome a la 2008 TB Rays and win the pennant where they face the Cubs. Milwaukee will lose the division because they struggle at the Metrodome and the Cubs get several additional games in Milwaukee due to a Tsunami that ravages the NL West. I'll believe it when I see it

QUOTE (hawksox13 @ Sep 17, 2008 -> 05:57 PM) How about that 10 game road trip in August? 4 at Boston, 3 at NYY, and 3 at Minnesota. Ouch! Those teams better look out cause we'll beat them handily and often

QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Sep 17, 2008 -> 02:07 PM) The Twins losing that game yesterday was HUGE, especially with Lee starting for the Twins today. I know the Sox pen has been bad lately, but that Twins bullpen has been a disaster, especially on the road. do you mean Lee starting for the Tribe versus the Twinks?

QUOTE (knightni @ Sep 17, 2008 -> 05:59 AM) ESPN has Broadway Wednesday. That's what I thought but apparently the Sox think Richard, a lefty, can neutralize the Yankmees lefty line up. Well, now, he is rookie that hasn't neutralized much this year, but let's give him our best for tonight.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 17, 2008 -> 07:11 AM) Nice post. But I refuse to look past Wednesday's game. One game at a time is so much less stressful. It ain't over till it's over

Josh Fields to have surgery at season's end.
elrockinMT replied to justBLAZE's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Trade Josh Fields. Those knee injujries can really haunt you later just like back surgeries. I think Uribe should get first crack at 3B as long as we sign him to a deal. -
QUOTE (DBAHO @ Sep 16, 2008 -> 02:47 PM) Well I'll start up my 1st game thread of the season. Will be attending tonight's game, so let's hope we can bounce back for a win. Hopefully with Gavin on the mound, we'll give him the run support that we have all season long. Good luck to you. It should be a fun experience I would guess, but I'll have to settle for XM radio
-
Joe is hurt. Don't listen to this MLBtrade rumors stuff. But, granted he might not be back. I do hope the Sox make a solid attempt to keep Uribe. Fields is not the answer. I am almost convinved that 2007 was a fluke. He hit well, but even then did not handle the defensive side very well

How can some of these bull pen guys come to the park everyday and put on the uniform? 11 runs in what 7 innings these last 3 games and I didn't even try and look at last weeks games before the rains
-
QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Sep 16, 2008 -> 02:43 AM) Thanks Bullpen. :sosasucks 11 runs given up in 3 games

Hope to catch these games over XM and the Thursday game on WGN

Something tells me that this question never got answered just brought up more questions

Wonder how many of these minor league stars of ours get traded in the next couple years?
-
Thornton and Jenks in the pen and it makes you wonder if we need another rebuild for the rest of it. Dotel has given up 11 or 12 homers in 50 some innings even though he K's a super number of hitters. Carrasco is up and down.
-
I was really happy for Wise and the Sox. Two starting pitchers stepped up and threw almost 14 innings of shutout ball between them. I wondered if the bullpen was going to blow both games, but Thornton is the man of the day out of the pen. This stuff from the other bullpen members including Jenks is getting me worried though

QUOTE (jphat007 @ Sep 15, 2008 -> 12:08 AM) Keep Thornton in IMO Maybe, but then again we have plenty of picthers well rested in that pen. Maybe we save him for tonights game if needed -

QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 14, 2008 -> 11:58 PM) Thornton better get his fastball higher in the zone than what he was doing against the Blue Jays. Granderson is a great low ball hitter. Granderson= He Gawwnnn. Thornton did it! -

QUOTE (Cali @ Sep 14, 2008 -> 08:28 PM) This rain is f***ing ridiculous.... The Twins gain games with out us even having a chance to respond.... I know it's completely not in our control, yet, it still pisses me off..... The scorebaord indicates the Twinkies lost so if we can win both we would be 1 1/2 ahead and even a split gives us a 1/2 game lead -

QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Sep 14, 2008 -> 07:47 PM) what do you guys mean, would only have to be up 4 in the loss column to not have to play the twins the twins series isn't the last series of the year Mathematically challenged -

FROM THE TRIBUNE The forecast is for more rain, meaning the entire three-game series against the Tigers might be played after the regular season ends Sept. 28. They have no common days off between now and then. If the division race is still undecided then, the games will have to be made up, which would happen before a possible playoff game with the Twins if there is an AL Central tie. "Just be up by four games at the end of the season, and then you don't have to play those games," Guillen said. "It's not something the players should be concerned or worried about because they have to take it one game at a time, and hopefully it'll work out for the best." Somebodies math is wrong and it was never my strong point
