  1. We have had four injuries and a 5th starter that can't seemto get to the 5th inning and an offense sputtering again but we are still one game ahead in the standings.Frustrating that we can't seem to put this away, but let's hang in there with the team
  2. Are we done for the season?
  3. Please wake me up when this nightmare is over
  4. Just cecking in: hope we get a hit today. Javy doing good too
  5. QUOTE (SnB @ Sep 8, 2008 -> 01:35 AM) sox dodged bullets all over the place in the early innings, the game could have easily been lost by 5 runs I was at the game and wow, what a difference 2 weeks makes on the attendance of a sunday afternoon game. Danks got touched for those two runs because the Angels made some adjustments. He was liiving outside and they adjusted before he did.
  6. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Sep 7, 2008 -> 10:02 PM) Who said we had a great chance of winning? I saw plenty of people who said there was a chance and to not count it as a loss, but I dont recall anyone saying it was in the bag as if it was an easy W There is never a "great chance", but there is always a "chance". We played well. I thought the turning point was leaving H Ramirez in to start the 8th. Even ole Buck Martinez thought he was in to face one batter, who he got out. I did not expect him to be out there to satrt the next inning. No mater we had a chance and Frankie Rodriguez beat Swisher to end it. I would have liked to see Mr Swish at least swing at one though.
  7. QUOTE (YASNY @ Sep 7, 2008 -> 05:05 PM) What you say is true. Still, I'm not going to expect a loss. Well said. Me either. Danks will step up I believe
  8. See you all at the game today. I'll be the one in the EZ chair just beyond the big screen on TBS
  9. QUOTE (ChiSox35 @ Sep 7, 2008 -> 04:55 AM) Sad to see Haeger go. I've always enjoyed watching knuckleballers throw, and I thought eventually he'd find some sort of relief role in Chicago, even if it was a cleanup role. Actually I did too, but he never really impressed that much when with the big club
  10. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Sep 6, 2008 -> 10:15 PM) Changed the Topic Title, as Bourgeois up is bigger news than Chuck getting his papers(obviously the same trasnaction). JB will add some nice depth to the bench, allow Oz to be more flexible late in games. I would like to see him play in a game for sure. He was pretty good in ST and got some serious looks
  11. Mac looked pretty darn good and maybe next year will be in the bullpen helping us out. Now the question about Owens or Getz. Good one, but with Ozzie I am thinking speed wins out every time
  12. I'll be watching on WGN. Tomorrow on TBS. Let's go Sox!!
  13. QUOTE (maggliopipe @ Sep 6, 2008 -> 09:55 PM) Also given the curious timing, I wonder if KW is gonna try to make a move to get someone to help out in Quentin's absence for September even though the incoming player wouldn't be eligible for the postseason roster. Who could possibly be out there at this point that could repalce Quentin? Sheffield? I wouldn't think so, but the timing is curious
  14. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Sep 5, 2008 -> 09:38 PM) It makes no sense to have 6 OFers. Wise is definitely still going to play as they'll use him as the #1 pinch runner. Owens is going to be the #4 OF because Ozzie's dumb enough to use a AA player who sucks over a pretty decent choice in BA. Then there is Dye, Griffey, and Swisher. I don't agree. BA, Wise and JO give the team some flexibility
  15. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Sep 5, 2008 -> 08:43 PM) I assume this means we've seen the last of Brian Anderson. Both were on the roster before. Wise has speed, which is good, but defensively BA ius much better. Now with CQ out we need both guys to step up
  16. We can still win this thing. It will be interesting to see wehat kind on intensity and concentration is shown this series by those we need to step up and deliver.
  17. QUOTE (GreatScott82 @ Sep 5, 2008 -> 02:46 PM) We catch a break by this! Lets hope Buerhle shows up today. I am hoping so. Mark can't continue to give up 14 hits a game and expect us to win. I will be watching Saturday and Sunday on the big screen. I see Garland might be pitching. As much as I like Jon I hope we spank him severely.
  18. Don't speculate. Just believe the Sox are just being cautious before making a formal statement. I think Joe C probbaly has a good in on stuff inside the clubhouse. Maybe you want us to see what Mariotti has to say?
  19. Sign Joe Crede during the off season. He will be back in 2009 with a vengance is my prediction
  20. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Sep 3, 2008 -> 09:17 PM) He's had an injured forearm. I don't think its super serious but its obviously an issue. You don't sit the MVP of the team for two consecutive games if it isn't bothering you a pretty good amount. I think this was mentioned either on WGN by Hawk or by Buck Martinez on TBS last week. One of them said that it looked like CQ was not getting good swings on the ball and they wondered if he was hurting.t was like he was pushing the ball rather than crushing it real hard
  21. I think we won a game I do think
  22. It's a shame you have to bring in your closer to bail the other bullpen guys out, but THANK YOU BJ
  23. Relief corp throwing gas on the fire again
  24. QUOTE (daa84 @ Sep 3, 2008 -> 06:44 PM) alexei with 2 just great pitches to hit and he missed em both ....damn He is too quick on the trigger with runners at first. Owens could have stole 2nd, if AR would take a pitch or two
  25. At last we see some success from the pen. At least for this inning
