  1. We got beat at our own game Thursday night. Friday-Sat and Sun hopefully will be different
  2. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jul 4, 2008 -> 02:31 AM) They are trying to showcase Uribe, and the position of need is SS. Once Uribe is gone, Alexei is your backup SS. I think the backup SS will be (gasp) Pablo Ozuna. Alexei is the 2B guy now.
  3. QUOTE (YASNY @ Jul 2, 2008 -> 10:39 PM) That my friend, is the key word in my opinion. Yes sir! Nothing better than a great defensive play that stops the oposition dead in their tracks. We can hit all the homers we can possibly get, but defense will make our solo shots be enough for a win even if it's 1-0
  4. I have always liked DJ in the booth. Hope he stays either on TV or the radio
  5. I would like to see Uribe start at 3B, or SS or 2B for once. But, I guess the writing is on the urinal wall
  6. QUOTE (YASNY @ Jul 2, 2008 -> 11:29 PM) Which is why I'd rather dump Pablo than Uribe. I second that. Defense!
  7. can't win every game, but you sure can show up and compete. The important thing with a pitcher of CC's caliber is to play him hard and keep the score close or tied and get into that bullpen. It worked last night against an 11-1 pitcher. Ayway what is the weather forecast for Chitown?
  8. Just checked in and see we are doing pretty good. Way to keep the streak going
  9. I think the ESPN stat just shows that the Sox have a power lineup and we must hit a lot of home runs because we have a lot of wins. Now I have come to the conclussion that it's ok to hit a lot of homers as long as we win a lot of games. Keep it up Sox
  10. It is very interesting to read the various opinions and wonder how there can be such a disparity of views. America is a great place isn't it?! Sox baseball is one special calling in life.
  11. QUOTE (SoxFanForever @ Jun 30, 2008 -> 02:57 AM) I thought he said one of the best ever? No he said THE best and said it again to Miller
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 30, 2008 -> 02:48 AM) From the bottom of my heart, thanks White Sox! I wish I had thought to say that first. But, you are so right fathom. This was just a great weekend. The talk will now be turning to an all-Chicago World Series.
  13. I am thinking Jim Thome can still hit the fastball after that homer on Sunday night versus the Cubbies
  14. Joe Morgan said it to Jon Miller on ESPN Sunday Baseball. He made the statement that the Chisox bullpen was the best he had ever seen in his baseball career. Now you can take that for what it's worth, or argue about it, or whatever, but I have a lot of respect for Joe Morgan and when a player and now broadcaster with his experience says that- well, I think it means something special.
  15. Watched the game on ESPN-HD. SWEEEEETTT-SWWEEEEPPP
  16. I was so ticked yesterday. I was on the road and listened to the game on ESPN's Saturday Radiuo broadcast and missed it on TV. But, we won!
  17. QUOTE (rpmahr @ Jun 27, 2008 -> 09:30 PM) this isnt an excuse to miss game 4 of sox/cubs You KNOW you are right
  18. I thoroughly enjoyed the game today. How about the catch by Dye and his dramatic theatrics!!! Go Sox
  19. Word on the street is that home can't hit the fastball anymore. What do you all think?
  20. QUOTE (juddling @ Jun 27, 2008 -> 08:31 PM) Hawk just said the three best teams he saw this year was the Sox the cubs and the Angels.....um....i thought Tampa Bay looked pretty good when they played us he likes to talk
  21. I don't know where they live. Remember Cuban baseball players usually flee to Latin or Central American countries. Does anyone know where home to him is now? Maybe the USA
  22. QUOTE (G&T @ Jun 26, 2008 -> 11:21 PM) Well I was at work, so I couldn't have watched it anyway. ESPN Sunday Night Baseball again Cubs versus Sox, but this time on our turf
  23. I am sorry if I offend anyone here, but I always worry a bit when Jenks comes in with a 1 or 2 run lead because he seems to fool around with oposing hitters too much. I mean he gives up the hit and maybe awalk and everyone is on the edge of their seat and I almost have a heart attack. I am always pulling for the guy though as he is really a good fellow.
  24. Dootelll K's kemp. Good job by Matt and the Octave man
