For all of you Sox fans that can't watch Chicago White Sox games on Comcast-Chicago here is what I see for us Sunday the Sox are featured on WGN versus KC March 29th the Sox are on ESPN2 playing in the Civil Rights game from Memphis. I believe that starts at 5:00 PM MDT in God's Country. It will give us a chance to see how the regular season line up appears to be developing I would think. Especialy the March 29th game. See you on TV!

I think Brian Anderson has the talent and now the maturity to be successful

Thanks for the upates. More specualtion about trades and I am not going to say that a Brian Roberts trade wouldn't be nice, but why muddy the water any more? Uribe can still play the game and if Richar is hurt I have no problem with Juan being here.
-
Uribe is in the game line up on Thursday.

Shades of Fellie Nox what is going on here???!!!

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Mar 19, 2008 -> 07:40 PM) That would be dumb. And I dont like Uribe. You are already paying him lots of money to play here. Whats the point of releasing him. It would be a dumb move. I think we just had a report from Ozzie yesteray that Uribe was doing fantastic and was in the lead for the 2B job. Buit, maybe there is a trade brewing? But, if so why put Uribe on waivers? I can't believe it is true.

QUOTE(wilmot825 @ Mar 19, 2008 -> 06:01 PM) The reason I said cocky was the fact I met him the night before Soxfest began. I was inside the private party at ESPN Zone, and met all the players and coaches. Jerry Owens refused to sign autographs until he finished eating, but all the other players signed and took pictures while they ate. Then afterwards I asked for his autograph and photo and he was like "yah but lets hurry it up," then before I could get a picture he sidetracked to talk to Greg Walker. Maybe I just had a bad experience with him, but he comes off as cocky and a jerk...to me atleast. I would have liked to see Fields in LF

Some of these observations are worse than any move the Sox have made. There is alot of upside to keeping Joe Crede and Josh Fields and Fields may very well need more time in AAA. He is not a polished fielder and he strikes out way too much. Just because some of us believe Joe should stay doesn't make us lower than whale do-do. I wish people would leave out the judgemental stuff and the name calling. Both Joe and Josh are good players and you don't give up either one for just anything or worse- nothing. Back up here please and take a look at things without prejudice or rancor.

This is so crazy, it might just work! Naaah.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Mar 17, 2008 -> 10:09 PM) I prefer that we move him to catcher, then see if we can move Uribe to 1st, trade Paul Konerko, move Swisher to SS, and send Cabrera and Dye to AAA. Exactly what bounty of goods do you think you are going to get at the deadline for Mr. Boras's client in his FA walk year with no comp. I mean is it a number 3 or 4 starter, or maybe their number 1 stud in the minors. What is a fair exchange for Brooks Robinson Jr. It appears teams like the Giants just want us to give Joe to them for free. There is no difference between free and someone with no big league experience or just middle of the road minor league average. I would want to see a real return for either Crede or Fields. I think this team can use both and both have futures with the Sox, if the Sox try and sign Crede. -

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Mar 17, 2008 -> 09:33 PM) I stopped reading the minute the blogger who is a member of Crede's crew is moving Josh to 2nd. I love the fact that members of Crede's crew keep shuffling around players to fit a guy who is not all that good, just came off a bad back, and is a Boras FA. I can't wait to see an article where Josh is catching next. What's wrong with liking Joe Crede? What's wrong with a young player like Fields, who KW and Ozzie said was athletic, being tested at a new position? Now do I think Josh Fields should be at second? No, I don't, but that's only because we have several good players there already. I woulds rather reamin positive about our players and not be so quick to condemn. -
No reason to panic just because a pitcher or hitter has one bad outing or even several in ST. I am more interested in what they are doing to improve and what they are working on such as a new pitch, or location or a new arm angle, etc. I would trust our coaching staff on this issue and feel pretty good entering the season.

Harden should be traded before the season starts. No reason for the A's to have any premier pitchers left, if they won't compete. I would think that with two weeks left to go our pitchers would be looking better than they are. Too many walks and hits before they get out of an inning and finally it bites them.

QUOTE(Pants Rowland @ Mar 14, 2008 -> 08:26 PM) Sox down 2-0 after 1/2 inning of play. Looks like a two out walk followed by a HR did the damage. Contreras is just keeping with past precedence by giving up 2 runs in the 1st. It seems that previous years always saw Sox picthers, but the County in particular, getting knocked around in the 1st frame.

It's [far from] Official: [Perhaps] Jerry Owens Makes The Team

Well, I was being a bit sarcastic, but you get the point...read between the lines on what the Oz is saying... I think Brian anderson has made the team also. Quentin will either be on the DL or start at AAA. You never know, but Owens might be on the DL also, but most likely will start with the team. Richar might also be at AAA this year even though I don't think the IF situation will affect BA or Owens -

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Mar 12, 2008 -> 10:18 PM) Even if they're approaching healthy...if he keeps this up, there's no good reason, even from a guy who likes both Quentin and Owens, to put either of them in the big leagues over BA (put Owens as the 4th OF or Hell call it a platoon at worst). Having Anderson turn in to a solid OF dramatically improves this team for this year and in future years. It turns any OF for the next 5 years into a solid defensive OF no matter what. It gives us a lot more flexibility in that we go back to holding 4 young OF's under contract for the next 4+ years, along with JD. It gives us the ability to move either JD or PK directly to DH next year, or even this year, if Thome's option isn't picked up or if he struggles with injuries. And if somehow we decide that we're in a position to move a veteran player, it allows us the flexibility to move either JD or PK for a good haul and still be able to fill their shoes. I do believe you are correct sir ... Brian is showing he deserves a shot at starting in CF, but it's nice to have Owens as a lefty and Anderson as a righty for platoon purposes too. -

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Mar 12, 2008 -> 10:14 PM) He's certainly had quite a game then today. Whatever happens, at least BA has come out and performed so far in ST. Whatever the Sox decide to do with him, at least if they decide to move him, they should get some decent value now. But right now, with the question marks on Owens and Quentin, BA may have played himself into a bench job. If memory serves me right this is the third runner BA has thrown out this spring.
