  1. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Oct 21, 2011 -> 12:20 PM) Who knows, his s*** might work there. All I know is that it was time for a change here. Agreed. Good for him and good luck Greg. Hope he does well. He's really not a bad guy at all...but like R44...it was just time for a change here.
  2. why do you guys keep engaging this marty character...
  3. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Oct 18, 2011 -> 10:41 AM) My response to Cowley last nite was: *yawn* This pretty much should sum it up right there. Those two (Ozzie and his b**** Cowley) just seem like two little kids that cry to get attention. f*** 'em both...
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 16, 2011 -> 03:22 PM) And going from the most loyal owner in sports to a terrible owner so it goes to show ya what Ozzie'$ about...
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 16, 2011 -> 02:56 PM) Kind of like how you'd be nuts to want to go from the White Sox to the Marlins. oh I don't know...close ties. Nice weather for the most part...NO STATE INCOME TAX.
  6. Apparently the Dbacks didn't think much of him when they fired him like a few months into the season a few seasons back when they were putrid at the plate. You still need the horses...
  7. I would just like to hear a conversation with Frank about his philosophies and how he would approach his job as a hitting instructor. Like many have said...a great hitter doesn't mean great hitting coach. But I would love to hear Frank's take on the subject. Personally I think the person who could really benefit from the Charlie Lau philosophy is Beckham...but that's just me. He does need an overhaul tho...
  8. QUOTE (Sockin @ Oct 7, 2011 -> 11:40 PM) Nieves and Salas are still around as well. THANK THE LORD!!!!
  9. Soooo glad Philly got knocked out. Not sure what the deal with Ryan was...trying to soften the boos he knew he was gonna get. I don't know about anybody else...but Philadelphia is probably my LEAST liked city for any sports teams. I can't stand a one of them.
  10. QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 7, 2011 -> 03:20 PM) Yes. She grew up to be a very attractive young woman. She is exceedingly beautiful. Is that better? I agree with greg. not a great picture at all...but I think she's very attractive. Yes I would. In. A. Heartbeat. And it would probably have to involve some begging...
  11. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Oct 7, 2011 -> 12:48 PM) Cooper confirmed a lot of what Cowley wrote today, then he called him a liar? Crazy stuff. What crazy f***ing twisted world do you live in?...really. Confirmed?!? Jesus Christ...
  12. You really gotta give it to Ozzie...he played Cowley like a $5 hooker...using his and Cowley's need for notoriety as his mouthpiece. It's actually kind of pathetic that Cowley bought into it with Ozzie deflecting what an ass Ozzie really was/is onto Cowley.
  13. QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Oct 7, 2011 -> 11:00 AM) Ozzie did plenty wrong. But the Sox hired him, knew he'd be wild, and couldn't work with him the right way. That's not being blameless. The fact that it worked well for awhile and then didn't means Ozzie wasn't a total trainwreck-- that one way or another there were problems adapting to changes. JR has brought us managerial choices like Manuel and Bevington, so I'm far from out of line when I say the Sox have something to prove with regard to making a mess and then having to clean it up. The biggest thing was the Sox winning the World Series his second year and inflated his head/ego to gigantic proportions and put him (as I'm sure he felt and many others) on this untouchable pedestal. Grateful for the World Series trophy...but in terms of Ozzie...it was probably the worse thing that could have happened in terms of reigning in his huge ego and keeping his self worth in check. He felt he was bigger than the team...IMO.
  14. QUOTE (W1CK3D @ Oct 7, 2011 -> 09:37 AM) I just hope he isn't another AJ Hinch, a coach with no managerial experience yet we know how that one turned out. I guess we will know within a year from now how he is. This is a VERY bad example. a. Hinch couldn't hold Robin's jock strap as a player. b. Many out here thought Hinch was a major brown noser who sucked ass up the ladder with the former regime in AZ...plus...he was only 34 when he was hired as manager and probably not one of the players on that team respected the man.
  15. The dysfunctionality of the White Sox under Ozzie getting exposed. Great! Have fun Loria and Marlin fans....and good riddance to Ozzie and his entire circus of a family.
  16. One thing he did say...which I like...but remains to be seen and is a stark contrast:
  17. Look...I'm not pissed about Robin Ventura in general...he may turn out to be a very good manager at some point down the road. But we're not in complete rebuild mode. I think what pisses me off is the blatant "cronyism" that this friggin organization has turned into...loyalty to a fault. This is almost like a bad remake of a Blues Brothers movie "we're gettin' the band back together"....or not to bring politics into this but Obama appointing his under qualified cronies to posts. Like a said...I'll give him a chance...but would it have killed Kenny "The Genius" Williams/JR to at least go thru the goddamn interview process and at least give the appearance of doing due diligence instead of some knee jerk hiring it seems the entire baseball world is scratching their head over.
  18. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Oct 6, 2011 -> 03:50 PM) They absolutely have to hire an experienced bench coach at this point. I thought that's what they were doing with Harold?!?...is that incorrect?
  19. well...after the initial shock has worn off...I will say I'll at least give him a chance. Loved him as a player...so we'll see. Maybe the players will respond greatly to this...which was one of my biggest gripes about Ozzie anymore. We really shouldn't be surprised by this move...I mean...retaining Cooper was one thing...but the writing for something like this was kind of one the wall bringing Baines back.
  20. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Oct 6, 2011 -> 03:30 PM) LOL This says it all. He might as well have stated that Robin has a nice family and isn't a bad golfer. you forgot that he's a Cancer by sign, loves the outdoors and likes to travel.
  21. QUOTE (WHITESOXRANDY @ Oct 6, 2011 -> 03:27 PM) Frank Thomas - hitting coach. Great move! This made my day. Apparently him and Kenny kissed and made up?!?
  22. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Oct 6, 2011 -> 03:16 PM) Does he even speak? Him and Harold...that's gonna be stimulating. Jerry...just sell the f***ing team already!
  23. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Oct 6, 2011 -> 03:06 PM) SouthPaw is quiet. Southpaw also never managed a team. Maybe we should of interviewed Southpaw. Speaking of interview process...was there even an interview process with anybody?!?
