  1. Looked like AJ looked over at the dugout and said something after he hit it....
  2. Atta boy De Aza!!!! I hope this quells people's concern about this dude...
  3. QUOTE (K-Rock @ Apr 11, 2012 -> 11:21 AM) Robbin letting them swing on 3-0. I like it! Such a nice change...
  4. What happened to those days of Beckham driving balls the other way (like when he came up and was most effective)?
  5. hahaa....Hawk gettin' pissed at Morel's throw. "C,mon..."
  6. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 11, 2012 -> 10:22 AM) Make it a WP. Same result. was it just me or did AJ have his mitt turned the wrong way? looked very catchable... Shouldn't have even been on base tho.
  7. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Apr 10, 2012 -> 10:12 AM) I'm truly surprised that Ozzie made an ass out of himself this quickly. I'm not. Ozzie has placed himself in Demigod category and unfortunately for him his IQ was never on parallel with his self-appointed status. It was inevitable something like this was going to happen. And for this reason I've refused to read anything Cowley ever writes again since he's been his biggest enabler. Cowley and Ozzie are in the same category as bananas of things that go bad quickly.
  8. QUOTE (sunofgold @ Apr 6, 2012 -> 02:37 PM) Somehow I have a feeling that Escobar going to be our starting 3B before this season over. I know that it is only one game but that is my feeling. Or starting 2B
  9. And don't forget that next week...MLB Extra Innings is free for 1 or 2 weeks (can't remember how long).
  10. This is one of the reason's I love working from home! That and I don't have to miss any starts of games (being 2 hours different).
  11. QUOTE (Tex @ Apr 6, 2012 -> 07:01 AM) It's like listening to Richard Pryor Live on the Sunset Strip, it may be the greatest of all time, but if you listen to it 1,000 times, it loses it's spontaneity and freshness. Soon you think Pryor sucks and wonder how you ever liked it. Same with Ozzie. That's probably the best analogy I've ever heard!...
  12. At least they pointed their stadium in the right direction and have the skyline in the background...
  13. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 2, 2012 -> 01:06 PM) Giants lock up Cain to a 5-year deal, worth around $100 million. ESPN said it was for $112.5 million. That's crazy money for him IMO...
  14. I like the signing...absolutely no risk, possible high reward. He was pretty promising...but I remember him being horrendous at 1B with the Dbacks. Surprised to hear he worked out at 3B. Yeah...that valley fever is a b****. Those massive dust storms we have out here in the summer are brutal. If you have dogs...probably 1/4 of them get it...which is EXPENSIVE as hell to treat...lot's of people can't afford it and end up just putting their dog down. Typical summer haboob out here...
  15. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 23, 2012 -> 09:31 AM) Scott Miller ‏ @ScottMCBS BREAKING: Joba Chamberlain had surgery for open dislocation in right ankle last night. #NYYankees Wow...that's bad. So much for his career IMO. That's too bad...
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 23, 2012 -> 11:56 AM) Please leave the racist derogatory teams out of this. Besides that, it is against Soxtalk rules. Thank you...and completely uncalled for. I have no beefs with Bobby...always seemed like a decent guys with everyday problems like everyone else. I wouldn't be surprised one bit if he was having some pretty severe depression problems as well. I hope he gets all these things sorted out and gets healthy too. He'll always be thought of fondly in my book.
  17. QUOTE (klaus kinski @ Mar 22, 2012 -> 03:22 PM) Allen was such an imposing figure at the plate, like nothing I had seen since Big Klu in 1959. Yes, I'm old. That huge bat, the SI Cover, and I believe he hit one into the CF bleachers when they were 440 feet, are all pictures in my mind I don't forget. What a fun era, with Melton, Wilbur Wood, Gossage, Forster and a real competitive team with Chuck Tanner at the helm. I was 12 years old and at that game in the right field bleachers...I want to say it was against the Yankees...maybe Orioles. (maybe not)...but it was an amazing shot. btw...it just didn't make it into the first row of the bleachers. It was more than half way up the bleachers...more towards the back of them. Other shot I remember being at was his pinch hit 3-run homer with 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th off Sparky Lyle...that was the Yankees I know. He still goes down as my all-time favorite player to watch growing up...him and Pudge. 44 ounce bat...holy crap! Still love those red pinstripe unis too!
  18. It's a shame this guy can never stay healthy. I'll never have anything bad to say about Q...he always busted his butt and played the game right. He "appreciated the game"....
  19. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Mar 12, 2012 -> 11:04 PM) I don't think it's going to be interpreted the way they want it to. They want it based on Robin's comments about players appreciating the game, etc. About how this team will work hard, do the little things, etc. I think fans will just hear that THEY should appreciate the game. Aka, we suck, but come watch it because it's still baseball, and you like baseball, right? So come to a game, baseball is a great game. And we have good food and free tshirts and s***. I just don't think it will get as deep with the fans as they are envisioning. I see where they are going, I just think 95% won't see it that way. Good point...
  20. Wonder how much they paid the ad agency to come up with that brain storm? My personal motto this season is gonna be: "Appreciate the Beer"....
