QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 25, 2012 -> 02:19 PM) You know one thing, if the scouting report says throw the ball away to someone, Liriano is one guy who will be able to execute it better than anyone. He puts it right where he wants it every pitch. Yeah and I'd imagine you frequently have to abandon the scouting report based on whatever pitch Liriano can throw for a strike at that moment.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 25, 2012 -> 02:14 PM) Was it really that bad of a play by Beckham? No, I shouldn't exaggerate. It would have been a very good double play, but he makes it over 90% of the time IMO

QUOTE (Noonskadoodle @ Sep 25, 2012 -> 02:13 PM) We have had a handful of hard hit balls. Just no luck. This. And we've spotted him two outs on the bases.

Chicago White Sox vs. Cleveland Indians
QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 25, 2012 -> 02:11 PM) Lefties for Cleveland continue to get way too many hits off of the White Sox LHP. They've had a tremendous, base hit oriented approach so far in this series. There were times that our hitters would do this earlier in the season and it helped our offense on several occasions. I remember us ripping Derek Lowe by just slapping opposite field after opposite field hit.

The best part is that Gordon f***ed this all up. Liriano couldn't finish the inning, but he got us the DP ball

Francisco Liriano - "At least I'm better than Humber!"

QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Sep 25, 2012 -> 02:07 PM) AJ was fuming and not at Beckham but at the ump for calling it safe. Was it that close? It was very close, my MLB.tv f***ed up on the replay so I can't see if the call was accurate

If you throw a pitch in the same place four times, the fourth time its a strike.

QUOTE (robinventura23 @ Sep 25, 2012 -> 01:59 PM) looks like we are having issues scoring runs again. Also, another no name a$$hole killing us. Never heard of Canzler until last night. Jesus Christ, we've batted three times. Relax.
-
Chicago White Sox vs. Cleveland Indians
That Canzler is something, big time power

The Packer players are being completely classless. I hope the Bears would not present themselves like this in a similar situation. Sherman handled himself well. The Seahawks aren't dealing with it well either.

Not much luck running against this combo.

I still like this new Gordon.

Who is our closer the final 9 games?
QUOTE (Jose Paniagua @ Sep 25, 2012 -> 10:48 AM) save is a made up stat no reason to base decisions off it Sure a closer maybe benefits from knowing their role each time out...but I can no longer defend that thinking when I see lefty hitters just regularly come in and bash in a RHP closer time and time again. or at least hit the ball hard. baseball is a made up game

Hawk and Stone, most biased announcers
He is a better broadcaster than us, he's actually very talented at having something to say, knowing when to speak and not to speak, not stumbling over his own words, etc. People have a misconception of what a homer means. A homer is a fan but not necessarily an idiot. Hawk cheers for us but he isn't trying to portray some false reality where the White Sox are always the best team or something ridiculous. He calls it like it is. He has been very critical of us because we've been playing badly lately. I'm pretty sure he might be the biggest critic of Quintana's fielding on the planet. He just conveys these thoughts in a way that doesn't hide the fact that he hopes the White Sox win. I love that. Also, I think Steve Stone has an enormous ego and it bothers him that Hawk steals the show. Not so much that Steve wants to be like Hawk, but he doesn't like that Hawk gets the praise and he doesn't like that his name has to be associated with Hawk's style. I really don't enjoy their interactions at all, though Stoney isn't a terrible broadcaster and he adds some great dry humor to the broadcast.

Phil Humber, non-tender candidate
It's possible that 2 million dollars basically ruins his already low value.
