Their existing assault weapons ban gets a revised definition, the magazine limit goes to 7, they give more teeth to their mental health registry, and perhaps most importantly they made the licensing process uniform across cities and counties so the laws aren't different every 10 miles.

You should be able to have guns, but they need to be "on the map" so to speak. When my brother traded his car stereo for a Glock via Craigslist, we were shocked that there need not be a paper trail. Our dad is an FFL so we're used to people having to at least get their personal information written down in our records. This doesn't solve every problem, but it also isn't hurting anyone's rights. Likewise, I'd much rather deal with a driveby from a weapon made from things bought at a hardware store than an actual gun. With this set-up, if you can consent to the registration of your gun and better background keeping, you get to wield your actual gun against the prison quality ones. People don't want to go to jail to get a gun. There aren't physiological needs for it like drugs, which is why comparing them is useless. Not to mention that the weed I could grow in my yard would actually be like the real thing, not some unrefined imitation that could easily backfire if I don't know what I'm doing.

Instead of putting people in jail that try to illegally get drugs (something they are usually successful at, if they really want them) and harm primarily themselves...I would much rather we divert those resources to setting up roadblocks for people who try to acquire weapons illegally. Luckily, no one gets addicted to guns so it will be easier to deter. Likewise, nobody can grow a gun in their backyard or their closet so we could fathomably track the path of every gun made to see where along the way it made it into the wrong hands.

Steel cut oats = $$$$$$$$ But yeah, I of course like oats and have them often, I just like to have various healthy options around. I've found that the food I buy has a huge impact on what/how I eat. If I have bad food around, I end up trying to "work it in." If I don't have any food around, I end up going out and picking up snacks. I'm trying to make sure I can go to my pantry and see no reason to go pick something up out of boredom, but still be abstaining from tricky junk foods. I might have to try to work in chia somehow...just never seemed appetizing to me.

Totally agree. I'll go the grave saying that Coca-Cola, in and of itself, is completely benign. Like most things I can eat or do, I have to figure out what an appropriate amount is. 64 oz. with my Big Mac every day is probably not the appropriate amount. I like to have a Mexican Coke at a cafe nearby, though. Cane sugar...yum

This Kashi cereal (the one with 13g of protein, I'm such a bro for buying this) tastes like...nothing. I tend to think lots of cereals taste like nothing, but this one changes my outlook forever. Bring on the Splenda and fruits.

I don't think Emery goes into the interview looking for a guy who says we should become 2-1 pass or 2-1 run or whatever. As he said in his PC, he isn't there to prescribe a coaching philosophy to anyone. The "winner" of this interview process is the one who can convince him that HE can win with the Bears both now and onward, indefinitely. There is a particular kind of personality or kinds of personalities he wants and he talked about some of those things in that press conference. I'd say the quality of the argument is as important as to the substance of it -- you don't have to run a 4-3, but you must give me a satisfactory explanation (using the reasoning that appeals to my football sense) as to why you would do things differently.

I think Emery knows exactly what he wants and probably knows that none of the retreads apparently give him that. I'll be honest, from what I know of Trestman (there's only so much any of us can know about these guys), he seems like a pretty good hire. I'm getting the impression that he's in Montreal because he likes it, not because he couldn't be someone's OC -- he wants to be an HC. Now, we can say we hired an experienced OC with a reputation of turning around middling QBs who has also been the HC of professional football players.

Anyone else here drink almond milk? I just got on to it and like how it fits my diet. I go with an unsweetened vanilla, which is 40 cals/8 oz. That's half the caloric content of skim milk, though I sacrifice the protein content. Allows me to have cereal, protein shakes, etc without adding as many cals. It is about twice the price of milk, though -- unless you drink organic milk, in which case good God is that s*** expensive.

It certainly proves how little we can do to keep guns out of a city when the ban is only at the city level. One only needs a car, a good pair of feet, or a bicycle to start making legal straw purchases or buy things at a retailer.
