  1. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Sep 25, 2012 -> 02:07 PM) AJ was fuming and not at Beckham but at the ump for calling it safe. Was it that close? It was very close, my MLB.tv f***ed up on the replay so I can't see if the call was accurate
  2. If you throw a pitch in the same place four times, the fourth time its a strike.
  3. The Francisco Liriano experience
  4. I'm sure we were just pitching around him, remember 2011
  5. There's one of the outs we needed.
  6. QUOTE (robinventura23 @ Sep 25, 2012 -> 01:59 PM) looks like we are having issues scoring runs again. Also, another no name a$$hole killing us. Never heard of Canzler until last night. Jesus Christ, we've batted three times. Relax.
  7. That Canzler is something, big time power
  8. The Packer players are being completely classless. I hope the Bears would not present themselves like this in a similar situation. Sherman handled himself well. The Seahawks aren't dealing with it well either.
  9. Not much luck running against this combo.
  10. I still like this new Gordon.
  11. QUOTE (Jose Paniagua @ Sep 25, 2012 -> 10:48 AM) save is a made up stat no reason to base decisions off it Sure a closer maybe benefits from knowing their role each time out...but I can no longer defend that thinking when I see lefty hitters just regularly come in and bash in a RHP closer time and time again. or at least hit the ball hard. baseball is a made up game
  12. He is a better broadcaster than us, he's actually very talented at having something to say, knowing when to speak and not to speak, not stumbling over his own words, etc. People have a misconception of what a homer means. A homer is a fan but not necessarily an idiot. Hawk cheers for us but he isn't trying to portray some false reality where the White Sox are always the best team or something ridiculous. He calls it like it is. He has been very critical of us because we've been playing badly lately. I'm pretty sure he might be the biggest critic of Quintana's fielding on the planet. He just conveys these thoughts in a way that doesn't hide the fact that he hopes the White Sox win. I love that. Also, I think Steve Stone has an enormous ego and it bothers him that Hawk steals the show. Not so much that Steve wants to be like Hawk, but he doesn't like that Hawk gets the praise and he doesn't like that his name has to be associated with Hawk's style. I really don't enjoy their interactions at all, though Stoney isn't a terrible broadcaster and he adds some great dry humor to the broadcast.
  13. It's possible that 2 million dollars basically ruins his already low value.
  14. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Sep 25, 2012 -> 08:12 AM) Yeah, I don't see the green checkmark next to the name. I don't think Facebook does that.
  15. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 25, 2012 -> 07:53 AM) Apparently Clay Mathews posted Godells number last night on-line. https://twitter.com/NickHietpas/status/2504...2385664/photo/1 That seems like a good way to get suspended
  16. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Sep 25, 2012 -> 06:12 AM) I didn't jump up or yell when Dunn hit that second homer. I was literally stunned, and I just sat there saying "I don't believe what I just saw." I loved the crowd's reaction. Even watching it on TV, it had a playoff feel to it. I wonder what was going through Dunn's head as he hit that bomb. Relief? He did his slow walk from the batters box as he gently dropped the bat, but he must have had great emotions running through him. That ballpark REALLY came to life there, it was really cool to see. I wish I had been there. Dunn is the player I'd most like to see get hot again. If he wants to have games like this now and then, I don't care if he goes on those little 4 game slumps here and there. This was a win that you can place squarely on his shoulders. Awesome.
  17. Again...Ozzie can't f***ing speak English. Who really wants him doing a serious broadcasting job?
  18. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Sep 24, 2012 -> 11:23 PM) TJ Lang ‏@TJLang70 Got f***ed by the refs.. Embarrassing. Thanks nfl suspended suspended
  19. Also, why the hell didn't Jennings swat that ball down?
  20. Looking at it again, Tate's hand was on that ball virtually the entire time.
  21. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 24, 2012 -> 10:52 PM) I don't think Thornton woulda got the save had Robin left him in. That's kind of scary ... again. I'd go with Reed unless there are TONS of lefties like tonight. I'm not sure about Thornton. They didn't actually hit him hard tonight, so I don't know. I wouldn't anoint him as full time closer for sure, but I'm not too angry about him being the guy to start an inning with L-R-L or something like that.
  22. This is the best way for the replacement refs s*** to come to a head
  23. lol like lol how do you treat a catch that has two potential recipients like that? clearly the GB defender had control first but it was at one point fairly neutral when they contacted the ground
  24. Don't lump Q in with Humber. They've had completely different career trajectories. Q has more or less flourished at every level (albeit low until this season). Humber struggled at several levels including the MLB before last season.
