  1. We might be getting a hot streak from Rios that we didn't think was going to happen
  2. lol ouchie on that call for Hawk go sox!
  3. A couple feet from breaking this thing wide open.
  4. Thatta boy Gordon. Was going to comment on how he won't go down softly anymore -- that earned him a pitch to hit. Never used to see him hit high fastballs well.
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ May 24, 2012 -> 07:56 PM) I'm going to predict that Beckham homers off of the pitcher during this game to the opposite field. Going to be tough with that wind.
  6. What a bulls*** way to give up a run.
  7. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ May 24, 2012 -> 07:41 PM) I thought the same even if though it's the third With the way he's pitching and how bad this lineup is, you just never know
  8. Alex Rios pounded that ball to CF AJP!!!
  9. QUOTE (Baron @ May 24, 2012 -> 07:26 PM) almost got that one Paulie. I think the wind knocked it down.
  10. Another very hard hit by Gordon. In other news, this guy has two sick breaking balls.
  11. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ May 24, 2012 -> 06:02 PM) I actually think the opposite. All it has to be is a different subforum. IPS should allow for different formatting depending on the board you are on (so just paint everything red and replace Konerko with Rose). Then all you would need is to redirect the domain name (which ST already owns) to that subforum, which is extremely easy. Fingers crossed I was hoping this was possible
  12. CSN says he had MRI today. No rotator cuff, no labrum. Danks clarifies that he felt a pain that was new and unfamiliar after the Cubs start.
  13. QUOTE (knightni @ May 24, 2012 -> 06:23 PM) Does playing third base cause back issues, or have the Sox just had bad luck getting 3B that have back issues? I've wondered this as well. I can't think of many baseball players with back problems, they never seem to get much press.
  14. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 24, 2012 -> 05:50 PM) Hudson isn't Hudson of 5 years ago. He is another guy on the downside of his career. If Morel plays anywhere close to what he did during his run last year, he is way better than Hudson. If we're judging both players on their last season, I still don't see an advantage for Morel. Brent only spent 2 and a half seasons in the minor leagues, it's not like we're sending him to a level where he's spent 3 seasons or anything outrageous like that. I can't even imagine where his head is at right now. Let him hit for a little while unless this Hudson thing blows up in our face very quickly.
  15. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 24, 2012 -> 05:17 PM) 20 days from the start of the rehab stint. I just wish people would stop pretending that "Brent Morel while suffering back problems" is "the true brent morel experiment". QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 24, 2012 -> 05:47 PM) This. The guy had back issues. Try hitting and fielding with that, and tell me how close to 100% of your abilities you play. I understand this. Healthy Morel was never great either. If Hudson is hitting well, we don't need Brent Morel. If we drop 10 out of the next 15, I guess who cares. If we're contending, I don't know if I want the guy that has only had one good month out of a season + in the majors (given a producing Hudson at 3B)
  16. CSN just said right shoulder, misspoke?
  17. QUOTE (everafan @ May 24, 2012 -> 11:30 AM) AJ will replace Hawk when it's time unless he decides to go national. LOL, could be crazy enough to work. I'm not sure if AJ would be able to be both emotional and articulate at the same time. More of a nut-kicker than a talker ...hmmm....O-Hudson for broadcaster! Would work well if the game was happening at 2x speed
  18. QUOTE (flavum @ May 24, 2012 -> 04:53 PM) Wish they would have moved up Peavy to Friday. Get him on track to start two times the week before the AS Game. Plus, why not use him in the first game of a big series, and the last game in Tampa Bay? They are probably eager to give him as much rest as possible. I have heard that he's had to cut back on between start work as it is.
  19. QUOTE (sunofgold @ May 24, 2012 -> 04:55 PM) Ideally Morel comes back healthy and hits better. If that happens, ODA would be a nice player to have on the bench. Morel though still is the future and we don't have much in the minors at third base. Morel plays solid D and have to hope that he develops like offensively. Very similar situation as when Crede started with us. If Hudson isn't pathetic at the plate, I've honestly stomached enough of the Brent Morel experiment while we're in contention. How long are you allowed to have a player rehab in the minors?
  20. QUOTE (fathom @ May 24, 2012 -> 04:47 PM) Absolutely, based on his velocity this season. Hopefully they did an MRI and know he's ok structurally. Me too. I'm guessing this time he didn't recover quite right. An MRI should have already happened, it would take just a couple hours to perform/get read given their resources
  21. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 24, 2012 -> 03:40 PM) If Morel is healthy, I'd rather have him on the roster than Escobar. Not very versatile bench player and I feel like it has to be better for him to play everyday at a lower level.
