  1. Dear Jose: They watched the tape and saw how all you did is throw outside. Please take this into account with your pitch selection.
  2. Quintana learning about changing locations.
  3. QUOTE (ptatc @ May 25, 2012 -> 04:53 PM) It can happen but yours is the more uncommon case. You can tear the posterior labrum but the most common area is where the long head of the biceps tendon connects to the labrum. This is about 1 o'clock on a dial if you picture a clock bieng on the shoulder. It's referred to as a SLAP lesion which stands for Superior Labrum Anterior to Posterior. Thanks for clarification and as you can guess mine was not a SLAP tear. Wasn't sure if the pain manifested itself in a difference place as well. I speak for everyone when I say I really enjoy having you around here
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ May 25, 2012 -> 02:09 PM) Average fans probably think a guy with 15 wins and a 6 ERA during a season are better than a guy with 8 wins and a 2.50 ERA. These are the people that you need to buy tickets
  5. QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ May 25, 2012 -> 03:26 PM) Damn straight. But this is: ADA cf Gordo 2b Dunn DH PK14 1b Rios rf AJP c Tank lf Alexei SS O-Dawg 3b It doesn't have to be, but there is plenty of talent for it to be. QUOTE (chw42 @ May 25, 2012 -> 03:31 PM) When Jose Lopez is hitting 5th, you know damn well that's not a playoff team. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 25, 2012 -> 04:09 PM) Except you would probably say the same thing about whoever's our #2 hitter, #3 hitter (Dunn) and #5-6 hitter (Rios) coming into this season, not to mention 3B and Beckham. Lopez is really only in there because of injuries. And they do have the prospect of yet another return to Hawk's and Ozzie's good graces for Grazy Sizemore, the formerly legendary best all-around player in the AL Central Division. The difference is that Jose Lopez was never going to be any good. While Beckham, Dunn, Rios have been bad, you know the type of talent and in 2/3 cases, how much production has been there before.
  6. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 25, 2012 -> 02:58 PM) Choo-Choo rf Kipnis 2b AssDribble ss Carlos Santana c Lopez 3b Duncan DH Caveman lf Kotchman 1b Crappy ex-Sox draft pick cf That's just not a playoff team.
  7. QUOTE (ptatc @ May 25, 2012 -> 09:33 AM) Usually, the back of the shoulder pain is a less serious problem. Labral problems typically show up at the top or front of the shoulder. rotator cuff problems usually show up further down the arm. No shoulder problems are good but these complaints are usually muscular not cartilage or tendon issues. Good stuff, glad to see you pop in when injury probems come up. The back of shoulder was where I felt pain when I tore my labrum, but I really wasn't sure if that was common or not.
  8. Interesting that ESPN rates our playoff chances higher than Cleveland...must have something to do with our run differential. http://espn.go.com/mlb/standings
  9. Here's how labrum tears often work... unalarming loss of velocity tiredness/lack of recovery in the arm rest fruitless return more tests reveal torn labrum /career FWIW, back of shoulder pain = not good sign in this case either. Hopefully this is just a blip and we forget about it.
  10. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 24, 2012 -> 08:00 PM) Problem with attempting that is that Talkbears is actually a functioning, independent site, and a lot of those posters were dragged to our site after their website closed...so closing them down and dragging them here would probably lose a fair amount of those members from that area. Yeah, that website will probably have to be left separate. Maybe make an outside link down where that forum would be. Perhaps you could set up a poll or something at TalkBears to feel out if they'd like to be integrated. I'm not sure if they will or wont. I sure wouldn't force them into it.
  11. QUOTE (chw42 @ May 24, 2012 -> 11:00 PM) Nah dude, this is real -> http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?showuser=7870.
  12. Morneau hit ball far Willingham has bad series
  13. If he can hit fastballs to the oppo gap like he did earlier and pound offspeed like that, good things are ahead for Dayan Viciedo. And I swear Alexei is going to have some balls drop for him...
  14. QUOTE (sunofgold @ May 24, 2012 -> 09:47 PM) King Kong looks like a .400 hitter. He will be there soon. All in time. He got screwed that AB. That lowers his average a tad. That walk would have helped his OBP. King Kong ...the man who stands between Hamilton and the early Triple Crown. lol, I remember back when they said Paul would never hit over .300 due to his speed.
  15. QUOTE (ScottyDo @ May 24, 2012 -> 09:34 PM) At this point, I think Ohman is more KW's problem than Ventura's (if he can't get lefties out almost all the time, what use is he?) Yeah, I'd call up Bruney at this point and screw having three lefties in the pen.
  16. QUOTE (chw42 @ May 24, 2012 -> 09:32 PM) Stults is more of a starter though. I wish we would have kept him. He's better than Axelrod and Stewart. Stults is 31 years old. Anyways, wonder who we'll bring up.
  17. I'll say it again. This lineup DEFINITELY has playoff talent.
  18. GRAND SLAM AND HAWK DIES IN THE BOOTH, YES !! YES!!
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ May 24, 2012 -> 09:19 PM) That was an awesome, awesome swing by Viciedo THAT was what I've been looking for. A guy like Josh Fields never makes that swing in his life.
  20. As I said before, perhaps this early part of the season was in fact a slow start for Rios
