  1. Hawk just touched on something near and dear to me: the Buehrle-Pierzynski tandum. Watching them work nearly brought a tear to my eye.
  2. ...and we're off. One down. Freddy's locating his fastball nice and early.
  3. Not only is Mr. Garcia my favorite Sox player, he is also on the fantasy team. Here's hoping for one hell of an outing!
  4. I can't wait to see these pictures. What a funny thing to do. As bad as Koch was for the Sox, I never felt any animosity towards him. He always seemed to be working hard and it appeared he really wanted to get things right. It's a shame he was never able to get on track on the SouthSide.

    Saul Bellow

A model Chicago intellectual if ever there was one. "The Adventures of Augie March" is a first-class novel that I would recommend to anyone.
  6. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Apr 5, 2005 -> 03:43 PM) Luther is late 1st early 2nd...and thats not a mistake Please tell me what merits a late first round selection of Luther Head.
  7. Regarding Luther Head: "If he can prove that he has what it takes to be a point guard in the NBA, he'll be a late first-rounder. If he can't, he'll be a nice pickup in the second round." Now, I love Luther just as much as the next guy, but a late first-rounder? Are you kidding me? The team that selects Luther in the first round is making a big mistake. IMHO, selecting Luther in the second round is still a major strech.
  8. Rather than analyze the game or the things the Illini did (for better or for worse), I'm just going to say we were beaten by a superior team last night. That said, I will never forget what these guys did for me and the University of Illinois. It was the most fun ride I've ever been on and I was awfully proud to be a part of it. Oskee-Wow-Wow fellas!
  9. AL East: Yankees AL Central: Twins AL West: Angels AL Wild Card: Rangers NL East: Braves NL Central: St. Louis NL West: Dodgers NL Wild Card: Marlins
  10. My goodness. David stepped into a pile of s*** and came out smelling like a rose.
  11. QUOTE(truth2034 @ Apr 3, 2005 -> 04:44 PM) I always knew this was true about Alex every since he started gettin his tips frosted and after he got beat down by Tek. Well here is the confirmation. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/apphoto/pho...7466&sportId=10 Surley you're joking. Awful. :headshake :puke :headshake
  12. Did anyone else overlook Rowand's awesome spring? I'll be the first to admit I didn't realize he was tearing things up the way he did. Let's keep that up during the regular season. This team is going to need a high BA guy. Way to Go A-Row!
  13. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Apr 3, 2005 -> 11:59 AM) Yeah it'll be either MGD or Miller Lite, and if we get more than enough people (very likely) we'll probably get a second Keg. Remember everyone, it starts at 1 PM, and there is a 1 hour pregame show. Very cool. I'll probably see ya tomorrow.
  14. It looks like I'll be stopping by. Is there going to be a keg for sure? Because I plan on getting wrecked before tip-off. Wow, the Illini are in the National Championship and White Sox are opening the season at home with Buehrle on the mound--does it get any better?
  15. Happy B-Day Buddy! I hope you have a great one!!!
  16. That's just sick dude. Unreal. I love it. I'm keeping this bad boy up all weekend. Oskee-Wow-Wow
  17. QUOTE(YASNY @ Apr 1, 2005 -> 12:42 PM) Indeed. No offense, this is not about me right now. Let it go.
  18. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 1, 2005 -> 12:38 PM) I hope he can get "widgy with it." A for effort!
  19. Can't argue one lick with either of those decisions. I Coach.
  20. QUOTE(YASNY @ Apr 1, 2005 -> 12:33 PM) Addison, no idsrespect intended but ... we lost a great one. Ah yes, get me on the technicality. No reason to split hairs. Born and raised a Chicago Catholic. My faith is not to be questioned.
  21. He was the only Pope of my lifetime. Here's an excellent link for those of you interested in the selection of the new Pope and the process thereof. http://www.catholic-pages.com/pope/election.asp We lost a good one today. His work here has ended.
  22. Anyone else at the opening day for the "new" Comisky Park? Oh-my-word. That was a cold the likes of which I've never before expierenced.
  23. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 1, 2005 -> 12:20 PM) Nah, but that works though. We didn't want anyone to get so pissed off they would leave that was just me Hopefully everyone got a laugh of it, which was the whole point. Thanks for playing along for all those who did. You're such a lovely audience we'd like to take you home with us, we'd love to take you home! Well then, to put the worries of posters the likes of rangercal aside, here's what I propose we do. Put all the new soxtalk april fool members and cubs threads in a box and blow it up. Months later, we can make it into a pasta and eat it.
