Couldn't the same be said for Hawk then? I have no problem with announcers being homers if they are the teams local guys. Doing 162 games a year for the same team, it would be hard not to become a fan. What bothers me is guys like Joe Morgan, Bill Walsh and Frank Gifford who are National guys that have an obvious bias towards the teams they once represented.

We were going to go with Directway (satelite) but it is supposed to have problems staying connected to Citrix servers (what both my wife and I use to log into work from home) so we opted for Qwest Direct DSL and at $26.99 a month is a steal over our MSN dial up which was only $5 cheaper.

I have no problem going for it this year if they can make the right moves for the right players. None of the prospects we have traded in the past two years have amounted to anything yet. I just know there are some people on here who care more about the Sox future and if they give up too much.

Just be prepared that if the Sox make any kind of blockbuster deal and add payroll to win it all there will be a fire sale this offseason ala Florida circa 1997 if they don't make it.

How about this scenario (please don't hurt me ) Sox trade for Carlos Beltran and Brad Lidge Astros get Jon Rauch, Aaron Rowand, Brian West and Daylan Holt Sox sign Beltran in offseason and Lidge is gone (last year of contract $300,000) Sox trade for Randy Johnson and Steve Finley D-Backs get Magglio Ordonez, Neal Cotts and Felix Diaz Johnson on board for one more year and Finley gone (last year of contract $6.75 million which the D-Backs pick up) Lineup for remainder of season: 2B Uribe/Harris CF Beltran LF Lee DH Thomas/Finley 1B Konerko RF Finley/Borchard SS Valentin 3B Crede C Burke/Alomar/Davis Rotation: Johnson Buehrle Garcia Loiaza Garland

More likely the Cubs get Cabrera. Could it be that KW is going after Beltran to get in Magglio's head? If the Sox were to acquire Beltran than Maggs would be expendable.
