Good point FATHOM.....Lets not hope that when he does you don't get someone that will through everything they have at him to get him just to sign. But the article does give me a sigh of a little relief that if this is article is true at least there is some talking at least going on instead of nothing at all. LOCK HIM UP!

I haven't posted in a while but i still read this board almost EVERY day! And let me tell everyone.....this is one of the hardest stretches i have seen in all my 26 years as a sox fan.......but i will say this If ozzie gets an extension i will welcome it with OPEN arms. I will admit that i am not happy with some of the moves he has made in some games but that is with every manager with every team. I still have faith in ozzie and i think we can turn it around this year (probably not to make the playoffs but to an at least respectable level) Heck when you have starting pitching that gives you a lead almost every game or at least keeps you in the game along with the miserable offense we have you can't blame the manager because the bull pen we have sucks! I love KW but he gets my vote for this one....KW brought these guys in and it failed. WE need to make a trade for 2 quality arms for the pen and we will be ok. The offense will not stay this way the whole year. I am predicting the sox will come out the gate after the allstar break beating up on everyone, and without a decent but not great bullpen it will all be for nothing. sorry to get off subject but go ahead JR and KW keep the OZ man here until 2011 because i am all for it!

True it is irrevelant but when do you see a guy go from making almost 9 mil one year to making less then 1 mil the next.....i would of thought he wouldn't of settled for that less... I would of expected him to sign for at 3mil or so....I am just saying IN this years FA market and for what he can do on the field we got a heck of a deal.

750,000 is a great deal considering that i am assuming that erstad made and don't quote me but 8.25 mil last year to play 40 games... actually and i just checked on espn it was 8.75 mil WHAT A DEAL!!

They said he was doing his normal offseason routine and when he kicked it up a notch to get ready as the offseason is coming to a close it acted up pretty bad and he opted to get it done know instead of it being a lingering problem all year.

No, actually i didn't just make up the rumor to start controversy...... i was just passing info that i had recieved. No way in hell would i make it up.....the effects of steroids in baseball are terrible. Why would i make stuff up just to tarnish the sport that i live my life around just for fun? They info i received happened to be wrong but some info i received earlier from him (palmeiro) was correct so i had reason to believe him. oh well....at least it put soxtalk on the map

Well lets hope something can get done here to keep him on the sox.... i was under the impression before the interview that he was intending on testing free agency, but now i am starting to think otherwise. KW lets give him a fare deal.... heck we saved alot of money this offseason allready. I believe this team has a few leaders on this team. Konerko being a leader for the offense, AJ being a leader for heck everyone and of course MB is a leader for the pitchers. He is watching every single pitch that is thrown in every game, along with supporting and helping everyone else on the team. OH and who can forget a FAN FAVORITE! Who else will go sliding on the tarp during rain delays or grab the microphone to address 40,000 fans at a game!

Thats true i think the yankees are starting to think that way.... instead of going out and spending the most and getting every superstar out there and still not winning the WS it seems that they are going to try and develop some players. The yanks suprisingly have a heck of a farm system!

This has to be stockpilling for a bigger deal! I see floyd in the rotation or danks and one of them and others being traded for a guy like bodelli etc.

I renewed mine.... unofficially though because i get about 25-30 games a year along with 1 game to every playoff series from some of the seats that some of the city gets. So if that counts yes i put my request to get my seats..... I sure hope that 97% renewal rate is true because i love the sight of having a packed house at every home game, and the games that i don';t go to wathcing on tv without an empty seat in the house makes you feel good to be a sox fan! With all the extra revenue from having packed houses we should be able to afford some higher priced free agents etc........ we haven't seen that yet but hopefully it will come soon enough LOL

I think this trade will have a great upside to us. Gload was a grat bench player and i actually think thats all he his. Sisco has a heck of an arm and once he fixes his flaws, he will be dominating in our bullpen. Great move KW! Lets hope your not finsihed yet....

Well i don't have a problem with him wearing a cards hat or having the stlouis area giving him awards etc. as done in previous years. The cards were his team growing up and still his team outside of the sox because he still lives in the st.louis area. He has nothing but respect to us fans and to the city of chicago and the white sox organization. Me personally would be very upset if he was traded this offseason and also lost to free agency... but if he left for the cards i would be upset but not as upset because you have to understand that it is every players dream to play for the team that you grew up being a "die hard for".... This year i have a feeling last year was just an off year and that he is going to come back and be the same ol mark which is gonna be at least 15 wins and an era in the 3's.... If the sox are gonna make a big push to keep any free agents in the next year or so make it MARK!

5/65 mil sounds great but correct me if i am wrong but doesn't jr and the whole sox organization shy away from giving pitchers no more then 3 year deals? if that is the case a 3/39-40 mil a year with a couple of team options sounds good to me.

i am a little upset with walker going to the o's.....My only great off season move for the sox that i wanted was to have walker sign with the sox, because i think we needed him desperately! I don;t think we can take a chance on high risk high reward kind of a guy. Kw now must pull a deal out from under his sleeve on the trade market... but it is nice that walker is out of the central!

that souns pretty good. because since you are on 90/94 there is no sense to get off and head all the way west to go to ashland. take state to 31st or 39th and head west and you should be good.

my neighbor was working at the cell as a carpenter and he did the installing of the green seats. he said over the weekend that they are finished and that the whole upperdeck, and between first and third were finished along with the bleachers. the rest are still blue. he also mentioned that a different company put the green bleachers in last year and that the front office doesn't really like them so his company might change the bleachers seats again. to the same green obviously.

i will be there for the raising of the banner and for the ring ceremony on tuesday also............sec 146 row 9! Can't wait to hear the crowd!!!
