  1. Ya, you can't fault Olivo for not holding on, it either gets in your mitt or doesn't, like ss2k3 said. Another thing i noticed and i don't know if anyone commented on this. That reminds me. That delay was what, 7-8 minutes maybe? I don't recall jon garland tossing with anyone the entire time of the delay, and then he threw a ball to Harvey. All he had to do was throw a strike with some movement and he probly would have struck out a cold Harvey. Unless i missed it...why didn't Jon toss around to stay warm? That was a long delay. Garland didn't throw anything to Harvey, as he was stationed on the bench. Schoeneweis, however, did not throw anything between the injury and ball 4. Yes, like I said, I'm not at all blaming Miguel. It's just they way it worked out.
  2. I don't remember that game. Please explain. I remember one game when the Yanks were here and we were up by 6 or 7 going into the ninth and Foulke turned it into a 1 run win.
  3. I've been thinking about this, and if it would have happened we may have won. I'm not blaming Miguel for this, however. Anyways, here it goes. On the pitch before Tucker fouled it off his leg, causing the injury, Olivo couldn't hold on to the 2 strike foul tip (whick Tucker probably wishes he did, as it turned out), which would have made one out. As it happened, Harvey came in and walked and scored. Also, if we had gotten Tucker/Harvey out, all of those 2-out runs wouldn't have scored. Amazing how big something so small can be.
  4. I hope we have another nice crowd. Last night, prior to the game, I was hoping for 30k. Damn was I surprised! And pleased. I hope we get 35-40k tonight, and kick the Royals ass. Last night, I felt like my heart was ripped out after that game. That was the worst feeling I've had after a loss since game 3 of the 2000 playoffs.
  5. I agree. Where would we be right now if he was our skipper? In first place, for starts.
  6. How? That was one of the softest liners I've ever seen back to the pitcher. I for one don't have a problem with a guy getting excited after a big play. Last year, did you have a problem with Osuna when he fanned Sosa to end the game? I sure as hell didn't. Zambrano looks as if he's tryin to show guys up. To get that excited over every lil play is stupid if u ask me...But like Bonds said. His fat ass will lean respect.... I'm sorry, but I have to disagree. Now if the bases were empty, and Bonds weren't the tying run, then it's wrong. But the bases were full, and Barry f***ing Bonds was the tying run. I pray to God that baseball doesn't turn to football where they celebrate everything. But in a big situation, I like to see fire. I hope you guys are viewing it this way just because he is on the Cubs.
  7. The thing I don't get is why it is such a big deal he beat the throw. I don't want to meet the ballplayer who doesn't bust his ass in that situation. No biggie.

  9. Sorry, I'm afraid not. That would be quite a move, flashing to get on TV.
  10. Being that I have to "watch" the games on mlb.com I get Hawk for about 1/2 the games. Nothing worse tha listening to a Sox loss with out of town announcers. I heard Hawk say he picked up the YES! from his daughter. Love that stuff. He may be a hall of fame announcer before his career is finished. He's about 1000% better at that than as a GM. I'm just curious what you mean by "watch"?
  11. I say yes to all but the jumbles lineup. I think we'll stick to what's worked. I think it will be the same as yesterday except we'll see Sandy out there for Big Mo. We're going to need a nice outing from Colon tonight. The first series in Seattle this year, Colon picked up the only win. I don't remember who pitched for Seattle.
  12. Remember a couple years ago, right debuted at Safeco and pitched pretty well. I think he's got another one of those in him.
  13. I assume the damn thing gets ran over by a train, but for soem reason, on my home computer, none of the smilies move.
  14. I think the Mariners payroll is between 80-90 million. Fairly high, but not enough for the fan support they get. Their owner is from Japan, and incredibly in all his years of ownership, has never BEEN to a Mariner's game. I find that curious.
  15. He's Gil Meche, not Kevin Mench. He's slowed down a bit lately. We have a good shot at sweeping this series, though I'm not going to lie to you, I'd be pleased with winning two games.
  16. I'm just glad that we don't have to face Pineiro. Dude's been lights out. We do face Garcia and Franklin, both who give up lots of bombs, and the way we've been swinging the bats lately, that's a good thing.
  17. I really love the "stretch". The only time I recall him doing that was on Valentin's HR from the right side Wednesday.
  18. It seemed a little while ago, when he returned to DH, that he had a slight injury or discomfort, whatever you want to call it. He said that he'd go back to first when he felt better. It's been awhile though. Time to go back to first. If someone could post his splits, between HOME and AWAY is where I think you'd find the real trouble.
  19. My friend was at the bomb game. He was sitting behind the home plate, and the incident was in LF. He said it was loud as hell.
  20. Tomorrow night I will be sitting down the left field line, and on Sunday, I will be 28 rows right behind the Sox dugout. As we all know, Frank has 1,999 career hits. My brother, a wonderful artist, will be making a great sign for me to take. I know WGN would put me on should he get it Saturday, and FSN should if Sunday. Look for me.
  21. Those are nice pictures you've got there. As far as Everett goes, I'm just waiting for him to get hot. Because it will happen, the only question is: when? As far as his batting avg. goes, I think is batting average as stayed the same since he came here.
  22. As soon as we return to Chicago, Frank will be back on track, mark it down. I don't know why, but Frank just can't play on the road. Last year, of his 28 HRs, only 4 were on the road. And 3 of those came in the first roadie!
  23. Grimsley on in Relief of Snyder. IP H R ER BB SO HR ERA Snyder 6.0 7 5 5 0 1 3 4.75
  24. Guiel pops out to SS, inning over. 9-1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8 up for SOX
