  1. QUOTE (Gregory Pratt @ Aug 17, 2008 -> 12:47 PM) He's pitched a lot more innings with a better WHIP, many more Ks and only a marginally significant ERA difference. Lee has won more games on a bad team but Halladay's losses aren't exactly his fault. The defense and the offense have not come through for him at all. My hope is that Lee falls off a little in September while Halladay doesn't as I'd really like to see the Doc get another Cy Young Award. As it is I still think he deserves it over Lee. You give Halliday credit for a .04 better WHIP, yet Lee's 0.22 difference in ERA is only marginally significant?
  2. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Aug 17, 2008 -> 12:53 AM) This was, by far, the worst concert I've ever had the displeasure of seeing. During a 3-hour set, they played (and I'm not exaggerating) 8-10 songs. Only two of them were relatively popular songs. f*** this band, that's all I have to say. You probably just did not take enough drugs.
  3. Random question: Why do coupon always state that the cash value is 1/100 of a cent?
  4. MLB replay could be in place by end of August This should not happen mid-season, IMO.
  5. Anyone know why Tim Lincecum left tonights game so early???
  6. QUOTE (lostfan @ Aug 12, 2008 -> 06:19 PM) You know, I have a lot of respect for MLB hitters who just shrug off getting hit and take their base as if nothing happened... that mess hurts. It's bad enough to be talking 75, 80, but when we're talking about over 90, that's gotta hurt pretty bad. When Carlos gets hit, the ball gets hurt.
  7. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Aug 11, 2008 -> 07:45 PM) As I recall, the Sox got pretty hot when they clinched the division, and shortly thereafter the Sox 40-man scrubs swept the Indians out of the playoffs entirely. Then the Sox won 3 straight and then won 8 more in a row. 5 in a row to end the regular season, but things did get pretty hairy there towards the end
  8. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 11, 2008 -> 10:47 AM) Eat a salad?
  9. QUOTE (jasonxctf @ Aug 11, 2008 -> 01:38 PM) and your comment is exactly what makes Boston and New York schedules relevant.. correct? My original comment was in regards to the people saying that the AL East is not decided. My point was that who wins it does not really matter to us. What matters is who takes the Central or WC.
  10. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Aug 11, 2008 -> 12:58 PM) The Twins are a game and a half behind the Red Sox in the Wild Card race, meaning the White Sox are 1 game back. It's completely relevant. One team will win the East, and that has nothing to do with us. Two teams are going after one Central spot, and three teams will be competing for one WC.
  11. According to my sister, Estelle Getty was actually the first of the trifecta.
  12. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Aug 11, 2008 -> 10:59 AM) That wasn't obvious sarcasm? Well, I hoped, but I don't assume anything You never know on here sometimes.
  13. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Aug 11, 2008 -> 10:17 AM) The guy had an ERA+ of infinity in 2002. He sounds amazing. Come on, it was uner 7 innings and like 6 years ago.
  14. QUOTE (Steff @ Aug 8, 2008 -> 11:55 AM) LZ, thanks for bumping this as I didn't see it when you initally posted it. There's no way I could go so I made a Paypal donation. for brave little Rosie. Wow, thanks Steff, that was very nice of you. Anybody else in the Carbondale area, come on out tonight, silent auction, live music, drink specials and it's all for a great cause.
  15. Yeah, I don't think Dish Network gets all the games, I get them on DirecTV
  16. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Aug 7, 2008 -> 07:21 AM) My friend Chesli saw it happen, she said it was horrifying I get sick just thinking about it, I can't imaginge watching it as it happened.

  19. Don't forget this Saturday, it's a very good cause!!!
  20. Do you guys remember that one game, against the Tigers, when Alexei Ramirez hit a 2-out home run in the bottom of the 8th inning off Kyle Farnsworth to tie the game, after the Sox had been down 6-1, and then later in the 14th inning, Nick Swisher hit a 3-run walk-off homer to win the game? That was awesome.
  21. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Aug 6, 2008 -> 12:10 AM) Go-ahead run in scoring position for the twins ;( go ahead run
