  1. Is Richar tradable now, or will Alexei be at SS next year?
  2. QUOTE (knightni @ Jun 4, 2008 -> 11:05 AM) Who was the last Negro League player to play in the major leagues? Minnie Minoso?
  3. From 2004-2007 Konerko is 8th in the majors in RBI, but you don't consider him a top run producer?
  4. QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ May 29, 2008 -> 02:41 PM) Ed Gein The Blind Melon song Skinned is about that dude.
  5. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ May 29, 2008 -> 11:53 PM) Thanks to the magic of wikipedia, I learned that John Malkovich, former Match Game host Gene Rayburn (awesome), and Doug Collins were all born in same small town of just under 3,000 people (Christopher, Illinois). That has no relevance at all, but I thought it was great. Doug Collins played for Benton High School. Jerry Sloan is from a town about 20 miles away, McLeansboro, IL, so is Carl Mauck.
  6. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ May 28, 2008 -> 07:54 PM) OK, so I know what movie it's from, but what is the thing the apes are surrounding? A monolith.
  7. Looks good. Thanks to whoever made it. How do I know what size to use?
  8. QUOTE (stretchstretch @ May 28, 2008 -> 07:38 PM) you have to wonder though after winning the WS with Boston why they immediately traded him off Not really, because he was a free agent.
  9. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 28, 2008 -> 01:22 PM) O cab has been shipped all over the league, I doubt that is the case whatsoever, especially with Ozzie at the helm and a team that is winning. He has been traded twice in his career.
  10. QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ May 28, 2008 -> 09:41 AM) Very limited distribution in the northern part of the state. The only thing I've had from them is the 42- pale ale. I'm not usually a big fan of fruity beers, but they have a blueberry ale called Sweetwater Blue that is really good. I've only had it at Bonnaroo, but the past two summers its been such a treat on those long hot days.
  11. QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ May 28, 2008 -> 09:24 AM) That would be part of the fun for me is seeing what kind of regional craft stuff people are into. It would be an odd set of final results compared to something like movies where everybody pratty much has access to everything. Maybe the better thing would be to have it boil down to a top 5-10 with national or near-national availability and then we could all go out and buy those and taste and rate. Or maybe each of our top choices in a dozen or so style categories. Pretty much I'm just looking for an excuse to drink. Can you get Sweetwater in FL?
  12. Jack McDowell used to pick guys off like that all the time.
  13. I like the beer idea, but so many small breweries are regional. I live in St. Louis and people who live 2 miles away in Illinois cannot buy Fat Tire without crossing the river.
  14. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ May 28, 2008 -> 06:12 AM) Go tell your boss how much better this other guy you used to work for was. See how happy he is. So should every Puerto Rican player on the Sox get pissed because Ozzie said that Alomar is the greatest player from PR?
  15. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ May 27, 2008 -> 05:43 PM) Bags are sweet, but it really depends on the boards/bag combo how good the game is. I hate huge bags filled with rice or beads or whatever that only are good for people who 'flop/spin (aka throw like a girl)', I prefer sand and a board that doesn't slide em everywhere where you can naturally 'throw' Ladder golf is a really fun game, like it a lot. Washers on the other hand, I find pretty boring, and pretty impossible. I've never seen anyone play it with any sort of success. Hanging on my wall is my 2006 Soulard Bastille Festival Washer Tournament 1st Place plaque. Of course I lived in southern Illinois for about ten years.
  16. QUOTE (gosox41 @ May 27, 2008 -> 10:09 PM) Why would they care? Everyone has opinions. It's not meant as a knock on Ozzie. Bob I agree, I mean he's played for Ozzie for less than 2 months. But it also depends on the context.
  17. QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ May 26, 2008 -> 10:40 PM) I'm all for this one. Hottest chicks wouldn't be so bad but I'm not at all aware of current hot chicks. Mine would all be like Marilyn Monroe, Brigitte Bardot, Ann Margaret, etc. Have you heard Led Zeppelin released a third album?
  18. QUOTE (shipps @ May 24, 2008 -> 10:30 AM) The only thing from Taco Bell that is decent is the hard shell taco supremes. I don't know, I stopped eating there years ago and my stomach thanks me for it every day.
  19. QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ May 24, 2008 -> 02:54 AM) This 89 cent burrito from Taco Bell isn't half bad. no, its all bad
  20. When Heather Graham was on Scrubs, that was a nice looking cast.
  21. The whole pregame ceremony or whatever you call it is here.
