Carlos Quentin - Nick Swisher - Jermaine Dye

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 6, 2008 -> 11:52 AM) I'll definitely take Uribe over Ramirez at 2B until Richar is healthy. Alexei should be in AAA right now learning how to hit a pitch that isn't a 90 MPH straight fastball. When is Richar expected to return? -

QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Mar 27, 2008 -> 09:55 AM) Why does this team even have spring training? As KW and ozzie said at Soxfest you can not judge outfield play, infield play and pitching because of the conditions. First off, why hold spring training there than but more importantly I think they build their team in February and spring training is irrelevant for 23 of the 25 guys that are going to make the team. If Jerry Owens hits .090 with an OBP of .125 they would say it is only spring training. RIGHT NOW due to Quintin's health and the inexperienced pitching staff Swisher LF / Anderson CF is to obvious as compared to Quintin LF / Swisher CF. Swisher should lead-off everyday and Ozzie should put his best team out there. Baseball is a game of unpredictable averages the only given is Ichiro will go 2 for 3 off of Mark Buerhle. Yet Guillen insists on changing the line-up daily and moving everyone around. In 2005, the line-up when Pods was healthy Pods-Iguchi-Everett/Thomas-Konerko-Dye-AJ/Widger-Rowand-Crede-Uribe It rarely ever changed. Now this season we will again have the revolvoing door line-up based on who is pitching. Yet they still can not hit LHP with all of these new fangaled line-ups. It's difficult to set your lineup before you know who is going to make the team. Now that is settled, hopefully it won't take long to figure out what works with who we have. And in 2005, they changed the lineup at the end of the season and it worked out OK. -
Can we let the team play some games that actually count before we call them a joke and fire the GM?

QUOTE(SoxAce @ Mar 25, 2008 -> 03:30 PM) This is TWICE in this season alone that KW gave his word (Gio not losing, Crede to be traded) and broke it. His word should equal s*** to anyone. Watch out Pauly. When did he say that Crede would be traded?
-
Don't they usually make roster cuts in bunches? Should be some more move to report.

Holy crap, check out the Jeff Cox video clip on the Sox site.

Just one word: plastic.

I heard Ozzie call him the Cuban Missile.

I think Easter is celebrated by pretty much all Christians, not just Catholics.

I thought I saw on here that we were already at 39 on the roster. Are there 2 open spots now?

This is so crazy, it might just work! Naaah.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Mar 17, 2008 -> 05:09 PM) I prefer that we move him to catcher, then see if we can move Uribe to 1st, trade Paul Konerko, move Swisher to SS, and send Cabrera and Dye to AAA. Exactly what bounty of goods do you think you are going to get at the deadline for Mr. Boras's client in his FA walk year with no comp. I'm not sure what your choice was. -

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Mar 17, 2008 -> 04:33 PM) I stopped reading the minute the blogger who is a member of Crede's crew is moving Josh to 2nd. I love the fact that members of Crede's crew keep shuffling around players to fit a guy who is not all that good, just came off a bad back, and is a Boras FA. I can't wait to see an article where Josh is catching next. Would you prefer to trade him for horses*** or send fields down? -
QUOTE(Jenksismyb**** @ Mar 14, 2008 -> 10:21 AM) Apparently I was wrong, that was not the "best news clip" ever. This classic came up tops for a Google Search: www.youtube.com/watch?v=nda_OSWeyn8 I also enjoyed this from the same site as the news clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pOc4XgBespw (Isn't there a way to put the youtube videos right in the post? Anyone know how to do that?) Copy the text for "Embed" from Youtube, and when posting, turn on the "HTML On" option before telling the post to go.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Mar 13, 2008 -> 12:57 PM) I was just thinking that if pot was legal and alcohol was illegal, that the alcohol drinkers would be making similar arguments and comparisons to pot. But may be we do not need to make available every escapism mood elevator in our society. I use it and I am not even necessarily for its legalization, but I definitely believe it should be decriminalized.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Mar 12, 2008 -> 06:14 PM) qwerty reported that people drive better high then sober. And no, I'd prefer the cook not be high. It's funny that around here it isn't enough to believe pot is about as bad as alcohol, you must believe it is a miracle drug and has no negatives. It improves driving, makes life worth living for cancer patients, solves all the world's problems and argue with anyone who doesn't agree. Maybe you should ask Qwerty to defend his statement, not everybody else involved in the discussion.
-
QUOTE(Texsox @ Mar 12, 2008 -> 01:24 PM) Less harmful then say carrots? Less harmful then water? Unless you are going to argue that pot is beneficial, these comparisons are meaningless. There are plenty of cancer patients who would claim that marijuana is beneficial.

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Mar 4, 2008 -> 05:41 PM) Two more hits today boost his average to .375, He also had a walk. What is he thinking? Didn't he learn anything after last spring?
-
QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Mar 3, 2008 -> 06:39 PM) I'd think the Giants and Orioles would be the 2 teams who would take on Uribe if the price was right, and depending on other factors. The fact remains, if you keep Joe Crede and Juan Uribe on the team (very unlikely I know), that's $9.5M you have on the bench. How many extra wins are those 2 players going to give this team in 2008? Not many at all I would have thought. Hence, why I threw up that original idea in the 1st place, about trying to trade those 2, and allocate those resources better. We know that KW likes to wheel and deal, but to do that we need prospects, and quality ones at that. If the Sox hold on to Crede he won't be on the bench.

I just bought an '02 Suburu Outback for $10K. It's a wagon so you may not be interested, but the AWD is awesome.
