  1. I think we need somebody who can play SS & 2B, and Iguchi doesn't. Right now we have no backup SS or 3B(besides Uribe), do we?
  2. How much $$$ would Larkin be looking for?
  3. Allright!! am happy with this signing, even if it did kick me off soxtalk for a while.
  4. Sweet! Now we can get Alomar back in June.
  5. So then if we sign Iguchi, Valdez makes the team? If he's ready, then why do we need to sign somebody? And what if I don't like Jr. Mints?
  6. I don't know much about Iguchi, plenty of posters on here seem pretty excited about getting him. But can he play shortstop? With the team as it is right now I can count 1 player who we can use at SS. If Iguchi can't(which I believe I've read on here that he doesn't any more) then is he really an option for us to pick up? Uribe is going to need days off sometime.
  7. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jan 3, 2005 -> 06:10 PM) When i read that it i think i made that face. Maybe it's just gas. Anyway, my point was, if the top of our lineup looks something like this to start the season: Pods Arow Dye Paulie, and we are playing Ozzieball and scoring, and winning, then we sholdn't just stick Frank back into the third spot based on his OBP numbers.
  8. QUOTE(3E8 @ Jan 3, 2005 -> 03:27 PM) Did you even see it? That was anything but clean. I'm assuming you're talking about the play where Burke got bowled over at home plate. Ozzie even commented on how he thought it was a clean play and wished his players played that hard.
  9. QUOTE(3E8 @ Jan 3, 2005 -> 02:22 PM) I don't buy the cancer for the clubhouse thing. I love players with attitude. When Jamie was blindsided by Hunter last year, I was sickened to see every member of our team just sit there and take it. What would you have liked to see them do? That was a clean play.
  10. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jan 3, 2005 -> 02:23 AM) Thomas will still have the highest obp on the team no matter how bad his average is. He belongs in the three hole matter what when he gets back. I don't honestly know how anyone can say other wise. I say that's BS. OBP is a personal stat, and in the long run doesn't mean anything. What matters is how many runs we score and how many runs we give up. The third spot in the order should be determined by who gives us the best opportunities to score runs. If Frank is going to be out for the first month+, he should not just jump into the #3 spot, if the offense is productive. I don't see any problem with him batting 5th, Paulie could probably hit another 40 with Thomas behind him.
  11. This may be a stupid question, but what does "pinned" mean under topic title on the Pale Hose Talk main page.
  12. QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Jan 2, 2005 -> 03:27 PM) i like the feature where you can see who's replying to a thread at that moment nice Where is that?
  13. That jackass actually got got paid to write this article?
  14. QUOTE (kapkomet @ Jan 1, 2005 -> 01:29 PM) I think it is taking place NOW. If you get bumped off, that's why... Just a heads up... Kap Are you sure? It looks the same.
  15. I believe Halsey is going to be included in the RJ trade.
  16. What $$$ do we have to sign another SP? Supposedly we are interested in AJ again and possibly a middle IF. We can't get everything.
  17. Doesn't this just kinda sum up how big an asshole this guy is?
  18. Imagine if we had gotten Clement.
  19. I signed up in Nov, and now I'm hooked. A friend had told me about the site a while back, and I would check in periodically. But this off season the Sox have been very active and that is exciting. This year's team is drastically different from the team we started 04 with and should be fun to watch. I ask of the the old timers, please be patient with the "newbies". It may take a while for us to get the hang of the place, but if everybody is respectful, I'm sure we'll all get along fine. I love this site, and thank you to whoever is responsible, you (rock)
  20. You mean that at one time the NFL had only one team?
  21. To be fair, I moved out of Chicago about 12 years ago, so I am really only speaking from memory. But I do recall construction workers finding bullet holes in the seats of "New Comiskey" while it was being built. Also, as a kid, I was not allowed to travel that far south on the El by myself, Wrigleyville was Ok though.
