HOME OPENER GAMETHREAD 4/12/22: Sox vs Mariners (Velasquez vs Brash) 3:10 pm CDT
I'm guessing they would prefer to use him more as the long-man, especially without Crochet.

Already the best RF in the last decade.

2022 White Sox wins prediction thread
95 wins and they acquire Marcus Stroman at the deadline in another inner-city trade. Hopefully this one works out a little better.

Manaea to Padres, Sox were in on him
So everyone is mad that we didn’t overpay for the pitcher everyone was worried we were going to overpay for. Got it.

Kimbrel traded for AJ Pollock
If it's truly a bidding war for Manaea, I think I would just go into the season with what he have (Gio, Lynn, Cease, Kopech, Kuechel, using ReyLo when needed) and waiting til later in the season. Once we get closer to the deadline, more pitchers will become available and I just don't like the idea of giving up a lot of bullets for a guy like Manaea.

Kimbrel traded for AJ Pollock
If he's the every day DH and fills in at 1B (OF in a pinch), there's plenty of ABs.

Kimbrel traded for AJ Pollock
Why are we assuming that Vaughn can't/won't improve as a hitter after his first full season?

Kimbrel traded for AJ Pollock
Yikes. That is the kind of package I would give up for Montas. Manaea....

Kimbrel traded for AJ Pollock
I want Vaughn in the everyday lineup as much as possible. Think he's going to mash. What this trade does (finally) is give the roster a little flexibility. I still think you can find plenty of at bats for Vaughn in LF, DH, 1B without sacrificing Eloy, Abreu. Pollock probably needs days off to stay healthy anyway.

Offseason Part 3 - Because Part 2 Was a Dud
Burger and Adolfo.

Offseason Part 3 - Because Part 2 Was a Dud
So if Conforto signs somewhere else, why even bother trading Kimbrel? Might as well keep him and see if he rebounds.

Offseason Part 2 - Lets the Rumors & Action Begin
The buzz around Conforto has been so quiet that I’m convincing myself he’s waiting for the Sox to move Kimbrel lol.

Offseason Part 2 - Lets the Rumors & Action Begin
I heard the hit. He basically said he doesn’t think the Sox are interested in Conforto because he’s a Boras client. Didn’t say it was a report/source or anything. He literally said it was an opinion. Take it with a grain of salt.

Offseason Part 2 - Lets the Rumors & Action Begin
At some point you have to wonder if the owners are sticking it to the players with low-ball offers. Too many big names still on the board during this “frenzy” and just a few weeks from the season.

Offseason Part 2 - Lets the Rumors & Action Begin
While I agree with the overall sentiment, the bullpen is definitely better on paper with Kelly and Graveman.

Sox sign 2B Josh Harrison (1 yr, 5.5M; club option; 1.5M buyout)
Harrison is at least a plus defender correct?

Sox sign 2B Josh Harrison (1 yr, 5.5M; club option; 1.5M buyout)
This better mean Conforto in RF

Offseason Part 2 - Lets the Rumors & Action Begin
Except his career proves he’s not.

Offseason Part 2 - Lets the Rumors & Action Begin
Honest question, if we can’t get anything good and his value is at an all-time low, wouldn’t it make sense to keep Kimbrel and hope he bounces back? That way he has more value during the season.

The Second Base Options (as it stands)
If they get an all-star caliber (or close to it) bat in RF, they have more than enough in their lineup to be a great offense with an average 2B.

The Second Base Options (as it stands)
I'll take Segura at this point if it means we spend on RF and maybe SP.

Graveman was announced by the Sox today, FYI.
