  1. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Mar 25, 2009 -> 04:38 PM) Saw 5 was pretty good. Not sure I understand the hate from series fans. I might and even go as far and put it 2nd best ( behind the original). Know1ng...I haven't decided if it's the worst movie I have ever seen, or just really, really weird. Saw 5 sucked ass. No ands ifs or buts about it.
  2. QUOTE (MurcieOne @ Mar 24, 2009 -> 07:01 PM) Rexy went deep on the reg. Rexy banged b****es on the reg. Rexy got mad paid on the reg. and unfortunately Rexy got picked on the reg. +3 for Eastbound and Down reference
  3. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Mar 25, 2009 -> 05:53 PM) Really, I didn't know this. What is involved with having a parade permit approved? I can't believe believe the assault of 11 police officers means anything. First off, assaulting someone is a loose term. This could be someone just pushing you. I would bet my membership with Soxtalk that the Bud Billiken parade has far more arrests for assaults on police officers, with far fewer people overall. Why don't they cancel that? I was willing to believe it was the people of the community making this decision, since they have everyones concerns in mind, but now that you suggest their permit was denied I'm a bit more interested in this process. I would really hope this isn't the Chicago government looking at the parade as an unnecessary cost and are looking for bulls*** reasons to cancel it. It really is a combination of both. There has been a growing number of residents over the past couple of years who have wanted to cancel this thing as people as far back as 10 years saw this was getting out of control. For me, it was like 5 years ago when I see buses at 7am full of people from Lincoln Park who are already wasted. From what someone posted at WSI, one of them involved a cop who broke up a fight with two girls where one girl spat on the cop. Another involved some drunkass punching a cop because they got his friend. With that said, the city was growing increasingly tired of complaints, and with this year being so crazy, they weren't going to approve a permit for next year. I've heard this from a couple of different places. The final hump that broke the camel's back was the committee voting against the parade for next year. The vote was something like 12-9.
  4. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Mar 25, 2009 -> 04:47 PM) I don't think it's an issue of giving it a break. It's mainly a logistical issue of cramming 300K+ people into a parade route extending a little more than a mile, which has hardly the resources to contain it. People are mad at this decision for all the wrong reasons. A tradition? Really, getting drunk in the daytime and pissing in the neighborhood is a tradition? The parade is a front for acting obnoxious and everyone knows it. After all, it's one f***ing day out of the year. And there are a lot of Irish-themed events at bars all throughout the Chicagoland area around St. Patricks Day. Yep. It's pretty much unofficial at UofI, except up north. That's what it really has become. Doesn't matter if you're Irish or anything like that. Also, the main reason it was cancelled, a permit for next year's parade was not going to get approved for next year. That was explained to the committee. The only thing they were really voting on is if they would fight this. When 11 cops get assaulted, it's going to be hard to convince someone to allow a permit and for the residents to approve more of the same the following year.
  5. I'm glad. As I posted over at WSI, this is the right thing to do. My experience this year:
  6. I just discovered Azerus today. Way faster than Bitcomet or Flashget. Works like a charm. Now I just need to get invited to some private trackers.
  7. QUOTE (rangercal @ Mar 24, 2009 -> 05:21 PM) Don't take the bait guys. He was kidding. Actually though, I still believe the Bears gave up on Terry Shea way too early considering with the small sample size of Grossman running it, they were pretty damn efficient.
  8. QUOTE (lostfan @ Mar 24, 2009 -> 05:42 PM) Curt Schilling is like the poster child for why wins for a pitcher shouldn't really be used as a metric, even over a whole career. Playing for those bad Phillies teams all those years hurt his win totals. Besides, any extrapolation from those numbers about him "not being a winner" or what have you should be trumped by his postseason success. There, he was nails. Bingo. No doubt he is HOF worthy.
  9. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Mar 24, 2009 -> 06:36 AM) I couldnt remember the quote correctly, but that had me crying. It was something along the lines of "Listen here you beautiful b****, im about to lay down some awful truth on you" And when he was leaving "For your information the watch was six thousand dollars......I hope you dont miss me when I am on TV" "Listen here, you beautiful b-----, I'm about to f--- you up with some truth!"
  10. A lot of people have to understand is these movies are geared towards couples. Think about it. If you're going with your wife or girlfriend, this movie isn't a bad option at all. It's something that will keep you interested. Now if it's just a bunch of guys and such, then I Love You Man might be kind of weird and might not interest you. Funny People does look good and I agree, it does look like too much is given away in the trailer. The cop movie with Seth Rogen doesn't look all that great. Year One looked like sh*t, but I'm not much of a fan of Michael Cera in the first place. Forgetting Sarah Marshall was actually a decently funny movie to me. I'd watch again.
  11. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Mar 24, 2009 -> 03:47 AM) I think it's kind of expected. Dude keeps himself in magnificent shape otherwise, so it's not a big deal. So long as he's in camp and ready to go, I'm not going to worry about anything else. Pretty much this. It's why he still has his skills and ability intact. He'd probably be worse off going to team workouts. Now when it comes to actually minicamps, then call me. As long as he learns the plays and such, the Bills should be fine. And yeah, what's up with Nate Davis not getting much love?
  12. Grossman > Brady Put the 'man on the Patriots with that O-Line, and you will see the revival of the "F It, I'm Going Deep" style of ball.
  13. Role Models was f***ing great. Anyone who didn't like that smokes rocks. I Love You, Man is pretty good too. It was different, but good.
  14. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Mar 19, 2009 -> 09:44 PM) The Korean pitcher has a slow curve with limited break. It's still cool to see a slow curve, haven't seen a genuine one since Greinke abandoned his a while back Why did he abandon his?
  15. There was nothing wrong with Prior's mechanics IMHO. He had perfect form on it actually. Good setup, drove from the legs, generated most of his strength from there, then exploded to the plate in a motion which was completely under control. He repeated them perfectly too. The towel thing which he catches so much flak for is actually an excellent exercise for not only arm strength, but also for helping repeat your motions in non game situations. There was nothing run with Prior's mechanics. He did not have a vicious or wild motion. The problem was a string of bad luck which IMO began when he collided with Marcus Giles.
  16. Burnout Paradise is now for the PC too? I was thinking about getting it for PS3. It's only $20.
  17. Yeah, I remember always listening to Hood at night during the summer after getting in. I wonder why everyone makes a big deal about guys leaving stations and such. From the sound of it, all of you guys hate every sportscaster on ESPN1000 or The Score. I haven't ever seen more than 3 people in this city agree on the same radio host being a good host.

  19. I don't think there's any discussion regarding SS with the Sox. Alexei will be the starting SS period. I would be shocked if he played any other role unless it was an emergency.
  20. You should create Kenny Powers. He hit a HR in a game once, ya know? I created him for the White Sox. Ace relief pitcher and excellent hitter.
  21. ^^That's why I like BK. But at the same time, sliders are best done by White Castle.
  22. Just a quick thought. If you like writing, I think you should be an English major. I would also suggest you look into some Sociology classes. Those, to me, were always classes that were interesting because you would debate regular everyday issues while not having to get deep technical terms that psychology loves to give. It's not so much reading a person, but reading a group of people. The Sociology classes at UIC were always interesting and fun to me. I enjoyed every one of them. Overall though, I'm not so sure you're interested in school as of yet. It seems like you are more interested in just doing something so you can make money. I would find something I'm really interested in if I have to take the next 4 years of my life studying it and possibly taking a career in it. If you don't, it's going to be some tough times.
  23. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Mar 10, 2009 -> 03:20 PM) Duaner Sanchez has lost 3.5 MPH off his fastball. No thanks. Jenks lost similar. What's your point?
