  1. He really froze up when asked if he thinks he shouldn't be in the record books or allowed to receive money if he breaks the HR record. Also, when asked wouldn't he feel more pressure playing for the Yankees than for Texas. He was a lot like Mark McGwire at this press conference.
  2. I see NE ending up with Fred Taylor. The Bears need to jump all over Cris McAlister.
  3. Would love to have him back at a utility player or platoon player. He's not a full-time starter though.
  4. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 12, 2009 -> 10:26 AM) Gordon has proven consistently that he's not that guy. I'd go to Deng personally, with a mid-ranger. Deng disappears in clutch time. Hell, I can't remember him ever having more than a few good games in the 4th quarter. I rather have Tyrus Thomas as that guy in the 4th.
  5. QUOTE (The Critic @ Feb 12, 2009 -> 10:23 AM) I grabbed 3 for the 1/2 price Monday against the A's. I'll get uppers from the Kids Club for whatever day their on-field parade is, and that's going to be it for me unless friends or family come up with freebies/cheapies. Yea, most of the games I was able to get, are Monday Nighters.
  6. Do it guys. Already signed up for Knightkni's league.
  7. Dammit my PS3 crapped out on me again. Good thing warranty didn't expire until 03/01.
  8. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 11, 2009 -> 05:34 PM) Good thing I grabbed 12.... Runs away... I hate you rock. Anyway you're looking to sell any of those at all? I'm desperate and would be willing to pay now.
  9. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 11, 2009 -> 05:49 PM) My guess would be Tyrus, Thabo and future draft picks. Add in Gooden as they want his expiring as well as Cedric Simmons.
  10. I've also read, it's a bunch of fluff coming out of the Suns trying to drive up the price.
  11. There are no Opening Day or Cubs Sox tickets left. It sucks pretty much.
  12. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Feb 10, 2009 -> 04:45 PM) Harvin does have fun tools, similar to a Chris Johnson type of guy, but he almost seems too injury prone to be a good NFL player. That
  13. Even if he just used it in 2001-2003, steroids have a positive effect even afterwards from what I've read up over the past couple of days. So he could've stopped in '03, but still could be reaping the benefits and reaping the negatives.
  14. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 9, 2009 -> 11:53 AM) Gordon should have veto rights over any trade I believe. That said, I'd be more than happy to keep someone who can play the Center role on our team if we made that deal. So that we won't have to see Deng there any more. Correct, Ben would have to waive for his Bird Rights and NTC. That ain't happening. With that said, I'm willing to clear the whole frontcourt for Amare. I hope it happens. BTW, I thought this was cool. VDN has Rose watch tapes of how Amare and Steve Nash ran the pick and roll in D'Antoni's offense. How great would that be if Nash was replaced by Rose.
  15. QUOTE (SoxPride56 @ Feb 9, 2009 -> 10:22 AM) I joined that as well for the presale, but haven't received my password yet, have you? If you don't get it by 9am on Wednesday, you're supposed to call.
  16. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Feb 8, 2009 -> 08:02 PM) I just hope Vinny/Pax/whoever gets Rose on point with his Defense though. The kid was an outstanding defender in Simeon and was very good in his one year in Memphis. That's probably the only thing that's really regressed about Derrick Rose. Not sure if the knee tendinitis (basically has dealt with that all season) or the sprained left foot (dealing with that just recently) is still bothering him in that regard. But his shot has significantly improved this season and the three point range will come eventually. You can tell the kid works his ass off. I still LOVE watching this video of Derrick hoping he can bring some of that to the NBA. The Stud, that is, Derrick Rose. He was never good at defense and it's always been a question of motivation on the defensive end. He has the tools and he has long arms, and he's shown flashes of being a great pickpocket, but he still doesn't do it enough. That and he always goes low on screens.
  17. I hope there's Cubs Sox for me for the SPC presale. I've never been.
  18. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Feb 8, 2009 -> 10:50 AM) Oh I would. Boras wants to get P-A-I-D and he is not going to unless Crede gets a contract Well yeah, but it doesn't mean he has to play. If he can't play, he can't play. At the most, they would have him rehab.
  19. I simmed through the early portions, but he took two different froms of Anabolic Steroids? http://www.suntimes.com/sports/baseball/14...-020809.article
  20. He was turning into an all-star calibur player before his back acted up again. I don't think he's healthy. I didn't even realize he's already 30. Best of luck to him, but I wouldn't be surprised if he rested at least all of this season.
  21. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 7, 2009 -> 03:13 PM) And Vinny Del Negro is the solution to that because...? Vinny knows what type of offense he wants to use, Amare is perfect for that offense, there is no one for Amare that he has to defer to, and he wants to play in a big city because of his rap label and other enterprises.
  22. QUOTE (daa84 @ Feb 7, 2009 -> 01:17 PM) in the past he was the suns only post presence and on the few occasions where they were in the half court they fed him the ball alot...theyve been using shaq a ton this season and it has taken away from amare IMO...also as an offense the suns are scoring 5ish fewer points than last year....either way he is an upgrade over anything we have Well, he's also unmotivated. They don't feed him the ball much downlow, Porter has phased him out of the offense and it is now ran through Shaq. With that, you have an unmotivated Amare who just looks around because he doesn't care.
  23. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Feb 7, 2009 -> 02:37 PM) It's just a shame, and I can't believe a guy like A-Rod, who unlike other players was an serious stud since freaking high school, would feel he can gain a better edge even with the biggest contract in MLB history. Ram and the others were never involved with A-Rod, but Canseco did mention him in his book. He was great at the age of 16. Just pitiful to hear. How do you think he gained all that power? Previously to joining Texas, his last 3 years he average 41.5 HR while hitting no higher than 42 HR. First year in Texas, he jumps up to 52, then 57 then 2003, the season he got busted, went back to 47, then 36 the following year with the Yanks. From 1996-2000 = 184 HR From 2001-2005 = 240 HR That's a 56 HR difference. I don't think the bandbox in Texas made all that big of a difference. Then 1999: http://pictopia.com/perl/get_image?provide...photo_id=380651 2003: Now:
  24. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 7, 2009 -> 09:45 AM) Yes. The slate will be wiped clean in my book. The boycott would be over and i'd be jazzed about this team's chances for the future. As for this Portland to Phoenix talk, they've already openly stated they are not trading Aldridge. Almost wiped clean. It's not like he's acquiring two HOF players at once. He would view much better upon in my book. The Bulls are going hard after Amare though.
