Official 2008-2009 NFL Offseason Thread

Bears reportedly are interested in Simeon Rice. It was in today's Sun-Times I believe. -
QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Feb 1, 2009 -> 02:12 PM) I'll give you one of my favorites from Wayne off the top of my head. I personally would've went with Tie My Hands off of The Carter III, but even that can't go against Em's greatest lyrics. As far as hip-hop being poetry, it is, though sometimes it may be hard to see such. Regardless, there are different meanings to each song just like in any other genre.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 2, 2009 -> 09:17 PM) Happy B-day. Will you now admit you were just kidding when you said Ben Gordon is as good as Brandon Roy? I was just kidding when I said Ben Gordon is as good as Brandon Roy ...Ben Gordon is better than Brandon Roy.

Thanks fellers! I'd like to thank my cousin Hank and my uncle Baxter for making this all possible! And to you guys who share my same birthday, cheers!

Very happy the Cardinals came back. They indeed showed they could hang and they most definitely showed that they belonged. Why was there no review on that last play by Warner though? -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 1, 2009 -> 03:13 PM) LOL. Ok, yeah, I don't buy that at all. It's true. Jerry is pissed because the assistants are pretty high paid(amongst highest in the league IIRC) and apparently they aren't meshing well together. I would've never hired Ociepka. He's never been on even a decent winning team and I'm talking like playoffs. I don't know if he's ever coached in it as even an assistant. -

Nice play by Boldin. It was all set up by Warner dumping off to Breaston throughout that drive. Eventually they have to account for him. -

QUOTE (3E8 @ Feb 1, 2009 -> 05:12 PM) Brenda Warner looks much better without that flat-top Agreed. The Cardinals meanwhile are sucking major balls right now. They can't tackle at all. -
QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Jan 31, 2009 -> 07:57 PM) It is unlistenable. I dont even think it's a rock song either. Don't worry, Hot Revolver sounds worse. And MHizzle, please post a verse that could match up to that? Basically something that's lyrical that makes sense.

KW ranked in "second tier" of five (MLB GM's)

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 31, 2009 -> 03:04 PM) There's another question though...how many advantages has he had in the process? 2006 Draft, #3 pick, Evan Longoria. 2007, #1 pick, David Price. 2008 #1 pick, Tim Beckham. You give almost any team in baseball the selection of draft picks they've had over the last 10 years and eventually, just by blind luck, they're going to hit a few that stick. Not saying he hasn't done a fine job and built up a solid org there, just wanted to point out the advantage he's had that other GM's haven't. Pittsburgh or KC? -
QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Jan 31, 2009 -> 04:15 PM) Regardless, I'd take Wayne's body of work from Tha Carter I-present over Em's period where he was on top. Oh wowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww. I don't see Wayne write anything close to that good.
-
Eminem hasn't released a song in years. He hasn't released anything for someone to say, "Wayne did better than that".
-
Can't believe people would say they would take Wayne over Em? Are you insane?

Hendry was like 4th tier and I can't say I don't disagree with their reason why. He's a guy who mostly looks decent because of resources, but with those resources, no reason he and guys like Omar Minaya have lost more games than they should have. -
PSN: jtamay3 MLB2k9 > MLB 09 I love the pitching in the game. Makes it very realistic. Guys will actually tire and therefore will become less effective as they miss their spots. And sucky pitchers in general will be very hard pressed to pitch a great game.
-
You would have to think they would be keeping a watchful eye on him.
-
Wow, that is kind of questionable. Still wish we took Porcello. I remember being so pissed that we didn't and I still am.

Bonds is not guilty!

Wow, wtf? That sucks. If Felix was stopped by a teammate before ever arguing a call with the umpire, he should not be suspended. It's not like he threw a bag of balls on the field. Cubano, do you think the Giants would've had a shot at winning it if not for this stupid decision to suspend the guy 20 minutes before Game 2?
