Williams explores NBA possibilities
nitetrain8601 replied to rangercal's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
I think DeRon is a lock, but still wants to keep his options open so it doesn't look like he's disrespecting the Illini and so it doesn't look like he just wants money. -
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 13, 2005 -> 10:37 AM) Trib is reporting that Scheyer has not dropped Arizona from his list of potential schools, and that some one was reporting what he said in a joke. The finalists are Illinois, Duke, and Arizona... Wisconson is out. Yeah, it was Mike North who was doing the reporting and Jon Scheyer told him to correct it and say that Arizona is still in the running, but they really aren't. I see him going to Duke. He'll be their Reddick of the next 4 years.

BTW, we went 26-0 in June.

Currenty I'm 75-11. We won our 5th consecutive World Series(or is it 6th??) anyway, we blew up the team after the championship(only 5 fielders and 3 starting pitchers and the rest of the relievers remain). We went with a youth movement and it's paying off. Jesse Allen got moved back out to the OF to make room for a stud 2B(Brad Eros) and Royce Merced was traded for a stud 21 year old phenom who already has 143 HR's in his career.

I bet the people over at WSI are dissapointed because they're not getting their HR Porch. Thank God. That would've closed the open concourse up way too much.
-
That's a nice one. I'll use that until someone could fulfill my request. Thanks KipWellsFan

I want a White Sox logo on a black background, but glossy like. Like when ESPN shows White Sox logo and it's shiny and has a certain glossy feel to it. I want it exactly like that.

What happened??

Piniero pushed up against Sox

QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ Apr 12, 2005 -> 08:23 PM) You can believe with the success that most are seeing in the Japanese players that are coming over of late, I believe it will be very tough for the Sox to get a hold of Daisuke Matsuzaka. Even though they may have an inside track with Iguchi and Shingo but a lot of teams will want him....price will probably be very high for him. Wouldn't the Sox have to bid on his negotiating rights since he's leaving early??? I don't know if the Sox would be down for that unless he really wants to play with the White ox and he really was worth it. -

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Apr 12, 2005 -> 08:13 PM) if the main piece of the trade is Tyler Lumsden to get Piniero than you have to do it if he proves he is healthy. it would probably be more....maybe a Lumsden and Crede and a lower level player(Jerry Owens) for Piniero -
Dang, I missed it.

I think the White Sox have an easier job getting Meche than Piniero. Mariners are rebuilding and Pineiro is part of that. And it would probably have to be for Brian Anderson or Ryan Sweeney or Tyler Lumsden for Piniero. -
I don't know. I don't see it anywhere on ESPN and everywhere just has the Astros vs Mets game as the alternate game.
-
I haven't found one.
-
Nope, the other game is the Astros vs Mets according to my Yahoo TV Guide.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 12, 2005 -> 07:36 AM) They talked during the spring about wanting to get Damaso to bust the lefties in on the hands a little more. Also you could tell either his release point was bad, or he wasn't following through properly as he was leaving a lot of pitches up. It didn't sound like that yesterday, but I only listened on the radio too FWIW. Yeah, that's been his problem. Releasing too early and no follow throughs. Hopefully he could get it down.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 12, 2005 -> 07:18 AM) Offensive is the key word too... As a team the Sox are hitting through 7 games. .239 ba .268 obp .387 slg .654 ops 3.86 runs/g With RISP .175 ba .208 obp .408 ops 1 extra base hit 12k's vs 7 hits And yet this team is 5-2. Does anyone venture to guess where this team would have been last year recordwise? 1-6 or MAYBE 2-5??? I don't know. Considering the quality of our pitching is better than that of last year's, I'd say around the same if not one game better. We'd have Carlos and Maggs producing right now. I'm still happy with this team though.
-
Just in case no one heard, Jon Scheyer of Glenbrook North has cut down his choices to two teams, the Illini and Duke. Hopefully he'll decide the Illini so we could have a great scorer and shooter.

Do the Bulls really need Eddy next year?

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Apr 11, 2005 -> 11:40 PM) Yeah but the thing about this team is their good... and they are extremely young... last time i checked young kids get better so we should improve by just keeping this team together. Exactly. Which is why I agree with Pax on this one and try to keep the team together. They lost in overtime by 1 point against the defending world champs without our best 2 players(IMO). That's a pretty damn good showing for a young team. -
QUOTE(Butter Parque @ Apr 12, 2005 -> 06:53 AM) But if the Yankees game is blacked out, then their gonna show the White Sox game? I don't think so. I think it's supposed to be either a Reds or Mets game.
-
ESPN is showing all 3 games of the Boston/New York game and other regional games that I don't think apply to us.
-
The thing that worries me about Marte is that he's not following through on all his pitches. It just seems to me that he releases them too early or doesn't try to throw harder when he definately can so he doesn't get the pitch exactly where he wants it.

QUOTE(rangercal @ Apr 11, 2005 -> 09:33 PM) I definately want to keep the core of Kirk, Ben, Luol, Eddy, and Tyson. It would be nice to keep noc and Duhon also. They'll be able to keep Noc and Duhon too. -
Put me in. Hell, I'm the leader of Crede's Crew. If anyone else wants in, just send me a PM.

QUOTE(Butter Parque @ Apr 11, 2005 -> 08:20 AM) I was editing the Sox players and found some pretty accurate changes. I changed Juan Uribe's stance to classic 3 (I think) I changed Vizcaino motion form side-arm to over hand. I changed Freddy Garcia's motion to the one where there is a hesitation before he releases the ball, I'll post the exact one later. It pretty much resembles Freddy'e motion. I changed Willie's stance to croutched. its almost exact. I still don't know why they don't have Garland's sinker. Does anyone have a more accurate stance for AJ? Which number is Garcia's motion so I could change it. I was wondering why they don't have his hesitation motion down.
