QUOTE (hammerhead johnson @ Sep 9, 2009 -> 10:44 PM) Who cares? Aaron Rodgers was essentially a rookie last year. Who looks at close-and-late splits for a first-year QB and then starts making definitive assessments based on such crap? I'm gonna print out the stat-sheet and wipe my ass with it. I'm a Packers fan, I know Rodgers had a great year and is essentially rookie. Just agreeing with whitesoxbrian that Rodgers poor fourth quarter play was the reason for the seven something games lost by 7 points or less. Important player injuries on the defense side of the ball hurt as well. 2009 is another year and I'm stoked because the schedule looks pretty favorable and the 3-4 scheme certainly didn't look all that bad in preseason games.

QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Sep 9, 2009 -> 07:36 PM) And the main reason was the almighty Aaron Rodgers. His QB rating was 13 points less in the 2nd half then in the 1st half. Also, his QB rating was below 70 in the last 2 minutes of halves. That isn't unlucky; it's just not being good in crunch time (in the clutch, if you will). Now I'm not looking to argue and yes, Rodgers was horrific in the final minutes of games last year. Here's an interesting take on Cutler this year, and no I'm not saying he will bust. http://www.docsports.com/2009/jay-cutler-bust-065.html

I'll fill it but I generally never check my ESPN leagues.

Can't f***ing stand Notre Dame or that prick Claussen. I don't mind the stadium I just can't stand them and ESPNs love for them too.

Rate these Fantasy Football Teams
ChWRoCk2 replied to BlackBetsy's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
In no specific order. Top 3 Team 1: Best team easily, four solid running backs and Wells and Moreno have the chance to be really solid if they start, surprsied they got Evans and DeSean, both should have good years. Team 9: I love the Thomas pick personally and this team has some solid depth. I really like Felix and Julius this year. Santana Moss backing up Royal is also nice. Not to mention Edwards could have a big year. Team 3: I don't like Warner but Cutler as a backup is solid. MJD and Slaton is pretty sick and even Lewis and Stewart are decent backups. I really don't like Lewis this season or Stewart but this team won't need to start either with MJD and Slaton. Only weakness is WR3, I don't buy Bryant this year with a new QB. Berrian could be good though now that Favre is there. Bottom 3 Team 10 Team 7 Team 4 -
QUOTE (knightd1 @ Sep 6, 2009 -> 05:53 PM) Packers As a Bears fan, this hurts to say. I know it was just pre season but the cheese had an impressive O and if there defense can be average, I think they have a really good team. Hope I end up being wrong Any one of the Bears, Vikings and Packers can win the division. It will be a close division for sure. The Packers offense is impressive and really all they are missing is a backup running back. I like Grant this year because he is fully recovered but we have nobody impressive backing him up. Really have never been a fan of the offensive line but they have a year or two under their belt now. The defense will still be a work in progress, very thin in the secondary but up front there is some depth which is key for a 3-4 defense. Also, I won't be surprised if Barnett comes off the bench this year. Should be an interesting first game vs the Bears though, of course Go Pack.

QUOTE (hammerhead johnson @ Sep 6, 2009 -> 11:35 AM) I'm glad that you were too lazy. I wouldn't want to see the entire thing if you got Houston finishing ahead of Tennessee in the AFC South. And a severely weak super bowl to boot. Houston has a good team this year. I actually like them as well to win the division or get the wildcard. Gonna go out on a limb on a lot of my picks. So in your case the Patriots would play the Colts and SD would play the Steelers.

The Official Put the Voodoo Devil Curse on the Tigers Thread

Tigers tied the game since this thread was posted. Delete it. -
I don't care where Bartolo is. He was a useless signing. Hope he stays far away form this team.
-
I personally like the idea of subforums directing the poster to our outlet sites like TalkBulls and TalkBears. But I'm not a Bears fan so I would never register at TalkBears. Even just organizing the sports pub a bit more would do.

This team doesn't want to win. Sure don't f***ing play like it. The season is over. We can't string together more than two wins and the offense won't wake up. Tired of watching this heartless team on the field get beat by our terrible bullpen and inconsistent offense. Seriously need to retool this team in the offseason. Rios has done nothing to impress me, I like the waiver move but I'm starting to hate it with his play. We all keep saying this team needs to wake up, but it is a lost season, unless we get a winning streak going we won't catch Detroit.
-
Sox need to wake the f*** up and starting playing better basbeall. Can't keep counting on the Tigers opponents to keep beating them. Tired of seeing us have leads in the ball game and end up blowing, see yesterday and the Royals series. This is starting to get extremely frustrating, right now I have a hard time seeing us in the playoffs, then again I did last year after Minnesota swept us late in the season. This team needs to play better, mostly the middle of the lineup, Dye should go back to the five spot and quentin should go to the three spot.

This Game is Ova. f***ing terrible game, need to pray Detroit loses. -
Difference between ares and theres is we cant beat the s***ty teams and they do. 2.5 back, wtf.
-
f*** THE TIGERS.
-
Phew, you guys made it seem like game was over when Inge was up, was about to be pissed the f*** off.
-
Ugh, bases loaded. Please pull this one out Ms.
-
Come on Ms. Gotta put White or Lowe in there for the eight and hope Aardsma shuts the door. Mariners could use some insurance cause the Tiggers are pesky.
-
Come on Seattle, just hold onto that two run lead for the remainder of the game. Would love to gain a .5 game on an off day. Now is the time to catch Detroit with them playing away at Oakland and LA and then Tampa comes into town.

Favre Signing with Vikings today
ChWRoCk2 replied to Steve9347's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
QUOTE (lostfan @ Aug 18, 2009 -> 03:48 PM) Playing on a rival to spite your franchise, so if he wanted to say "f*** him" that's totally understandable. TT wanted to give Rodgers a shot and deservedly so. I'm sure Favre would love to still be a Packer but why would he want to be the backup when he is still capable of starting. Not to spite, Vikings are just a better fit, not the ideal fit for Packers fans but it was inevitable. League wouldn't be the same without him, I'm glad he is back but at the same time Im not given he stayed in the division. -
Favre Signing with Vikings today
ChWRoCk2 replied to Steve9347's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
As a Packer fan this makes me sick, what a stab in the back. Should be interesting to see him duel Rodgers. He wasn't all that great in New York but Minnesota has a better team. Should be an interesting division minus those lions. The Vikings schedule is probably one of the easier ones this year, Favre doesn't really face any tough matchups till the end of the year, hes catching a break in that aspect. -

WTF!!! Why can't we win one f***ing game when the Tigers lose? Sick and tired of seeing the Tigers in first when we have a better team, we can never win a game to gain ground and it is getting really frustrating to watch. Need to tie up the division before that brutal road trip out east.
