QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Apr 6, 2007 -> 01:17 PM) is Matsuzaka's first name actually pronounced "Dice-K" or does everybody just call him that because they think they're cool? Its sure as hell easier to spell Dice K than Daisuke Matsuzaka. No? Yes I think Im cool.
-
Man they have to let the Dice K stuff go to rest, yes he pitched a good game but every second I hear his name and see him on TV. For starters it was the royals, nothing overwhelming for a start. Mariners should face a tougher challenge at the plate, might be a little more challenging. They just have to let the hype rest, Id rather hear more on Bonds.

This ones done, Ohio St cant hit anything beyond arc. Noah I hate you, i hope you bust in NBA.

Cheerleading isnt a sport, thats like saying being a fan is a sport. Both cheer, same thing, case closed.

Whats your bench look like? If your league has one? If you feel your OF is weak you dont necessarily need to look for a trade, just find good fill ins on off days. But with all the pitching you have it might not be a bad idea to try to offer some pitching for a solid OF. As for what type OF you should get, why not both steals and power, think Abreu, Wells, Hunter, Sizemore. With your pitching you could get them. Even if you have to lose a good pitcher theres bound to be a solid FA pickup after week one. Id say wait a week or two, see how ur hitters are fairing and make your best judgement.

Ohio St. 76-74 Unlike football they win this time.

QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Mar 27, 2007 -> 10:29 AM) Overrated= Miguel Cabrera and Dan Uggla, Uggla is a ground ball hitter, i dont see either of them putting up same #s as yr before but I could be wrong. Uggla, I agree with, but man, Cabrera's been mashing since day 1 and he's only going to get better. I mean, come on, in the last three years his OPS has gone from .879 to .947 to .998. He's one of the best, young hitters in the game my friend. I just plain dont like him, I just think if that team has the sophomore jynx his numbers get shot. I have taken crede pretty late in drafts because he puts up as much homers as any other third basemen and his avg is startin to come around. I guess I just think you can find some decent alternates instead of miggy. Oh and whitesoxfan101 I agree with most of what you say, i also love the marlins young starters.

I like your chris duncan pick mmmmmbeer and hamels, you have a nice pitchin staff, but yeah i agree your OF might hurt you Thats alot of OF positions kwolf jesus lol and rp, not a big willingham or beltre fan but they had down years, so maybe this year they put up better numbers. Beltre should he and sexson had a great 2nd half of season. You have some solid pitching which helps you.

QUOTE(NCsoxfan @ Mar 26, 2007 -> 11:09 AM) Its almost time for my fantasy draft, and I am turning to the experts here at Soxtalk for advice! I would love some input from everyone on the following categories: 1. This years potential Liriano's 2. Players on the decline - stay away from 3. Comeback players 4. Solid players that you can draft in late rounds. 5. New closers 6. Underrated / Overrated players Also, I am in a keeper league, and we get to keep two players. Which two would you guys keep out of all these: A-Rod, Vernon Wells, Jason Bay, Roy Oswalt, Maggs Here we go I shall enlighten you: 1. Tim Lincecum is a potential Liriano, other guys that might have a good year are John Maine/Mike Pelfrey of the Mets, one or the other will be stellar, Mets dont have much pitching wise and Maine had a nice last half of the season. Of course you have your typical stars like Oswalt, Johan, HARDEN is back and is a solid late pick. Otherwise I like Anibal Sanchez, if you can get him as a bench guy do it. 2. Stay away from Sexson and Giambi, Eric Chavez is also declining in recent years. Theres many just the names escape me, also stay away from Chris Capuano, the whole white sox pitching staff 3. Comeback players are: Gary Sheffield, Randy Johnson, Zach Duke but its risky (can prolly pick him up in FA) Milton Bradley could put up some good numbers, Mike Piazza. 4. Good late round picks are: Todd Helton, Adrian Gonzalez, Alex Rios, Anibal Sanchez, Joel Zumaya, Ryan Freel, Mark Teahen, Ian Kinsler, Willy Taveras. 5. New Closers: Salomon Torres, Takashi Saito (although he could give way to Brazoban or Broxton), Tankersely (marlins), keep an eye on wickman if he struggles Mike gonzalez or rafael will take his place. 6. Underrated= call me crazy but adam laroache, he could put up big #s next to jason bay Overrated= Miguel Cabrera and Dan Uggla, Uggla is a ground ball hitter, i dont see either of them putting up same #s as yr before but I could be wrong. Mauer is overrated also as catcher, there are later picks just as solid. Just my 2 cents.

I love the Georgetown and Ohio St matchup. Hibbert vs Oden in the post is going to be fun to watch. Also will be interesting to see hos UCLA responds to Florida, maybe beat them this time around. Wont be easy though because Florida is playing closer to home and will draw a big fan base. Both games should be really close.

QUOTE(DrunkBomber @ Mar 25, 2007 -> 12:18 PM) Why would he sign with the Knicks? Well since he did go undrafted the previous year, it was a wise decision to take the for sure bet that he gets on a team, Knicks was a good choice because they are looking to get younger and well hes young and fits in as most likely a bench player.

Thank God. Fouls were equally called that game, GTown had more fouls than UNC that whole game till OT, so I dont see why your blaming the refs, UNC shot 35% from the field. Not a field goal percentage that wins you games. Honestly UNC had 34 attempts at the line and your saying GTown got a gift. Tyler Hansborough is such a pushover, bout time he gets the calls he deserves, hes just so overrated. -

QUOTE(He_Gawn @ Mar 25, 2007 -> 04:49 PM) Anyone else think Gtown is just getting screwed with all these fouls called? wow Almost like a second showing of the Oregon game. Cmon Gtown I want to see the Hibbert-Oden matchup. QUOTE(He_Gawn @ Mar 25, 2007 -> 04:54 PM) Yea I don't get the love for this guy, sure hes pretty good but they are always all over his knob about how tough he is. Plus his damn lip hangs down to his knee and that just bothers me. Yeah, I hope this kid busts in the NBA, does he have a missing tooth or just bad dental problems? I never really figured that one. -

QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Mar 25, 2007 -> 01:09 AM) He's an athletic 6'6" guard that can shoot, he'll go in the first. FWIW, Chad Ford has him at #19, nbadraft.net at #9 (probably a little high ), and draft express has him at #17. Ok, didnt really hear of him. Never thought too highly of any of USCs players because they just werent in that upper echelon of basketball power houses (schools). Till now you could say. Thompson congrats you just gave UNC momentum with that Technical, boneheaded move. -

I just wanted a good game, all it seems like is that Oregon is getting screwed on every call. Porters gotta stop shooting. Not working. -

Humphreys on fire, Oregon isnt beyond arch. Florida is slowly pulling away. Some of the fouls being called are ridiculous. Touch fouls basically what they are. -

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Mar 24, 2007 -> 12:41 AM) Oregon is winning this damn region. Florida's playing with fire BS won't work against them, and Brooks will score more than 8 this time. It seems like if any of their guards has a great game they can carry Oregon through each game, Porter against UNLV, Taylor against USC. One of their three guys will be explosive in this game. So far Oregon has a slight lead. Noah is struggling and Horford. -
Man, after first two rounds i was top ten, and thats where I fell apart. Georgetown wins it all I can at least take top 5!!

QUOTE(fathom @ Mar 24, 2007 -> 10:40 PM) The funny thing is that this ending was exactly what I've been begging for throughout the NCAA tournament. Haha no kidding, but you cant complain most of the games have been exciting. I found myself watching most this game because i was so pumped for the games to start, just happened to catch a good one. Amazing what you can do in 34 seconds. Truly a storybook ending.
