Per Bruce Levine this morning, Phillies want Rowand AND Contreras/BMAC for Jim Thome. If this is the case, I say, "THE HELL WITH YOU! I'll stick with my players then."

I thought I would go back to my basketball mood to watch the beloved Chicago Bulls! I thought I would switch back to football to watch my beloved Chicago Bears! Alas, I failed! I am really in my White Sox withdrawal, big time. I feel empty, sad, and the yearning for more Chicago White Sox games is just too big to contain! Can't wait for Baseball Spring-Training!

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Oct 30, 2005 -> 01:28 AM) The Cubs already had their chance and they f***ed it up. '03 - Cubs (Up 3-1 in the NLCS and f***ed it up) '04 - Red Cubs '05 - White Sox '06 - Indians '07 - Pirates I understand what Mike Downey is getting at here but it's just not gonna happen, the Cubs' year was 2003 and they f***ed it up, it's their own damn fault. What the hell you're talking about Kalapse? '03 - Cubs (Up 3-1 in the NLCS and f***ed it up) '04 - Red Cubs '05 - White Sox '06 - White Sox '07 - White Sox Now that's more like it!

QUOTE(BigEdWalsh @ Oct 27, 2005 -> 09:05 AM) This morning everything seems much more real. The White Sox have won the World Series and for me it's actually sinking in and strangely I'm even more weepy about it now. As I was driving in to work this morning with my head pounding and pounding, it still hasn't sunk in yet! Now that sitting in front of my computer and reading all of the wonderful posts on Soxtalk this morning, tears begin to roll down my cheeks. It sinks in now. My gosh, our beloved White Sox are World Champions of 2005. And the feelings is incredible! Chicago White Sox - 2005 World Champions

QUOTE(Rally Crede!! @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 11:51 PM) Thanks go to the ENTIRE Sox ownership group. Thank you for bringing back to the Southside what many of us have waited too long for. I am just too emotional right now. Thank you thank you Jerry! I love you Jerry.

Is it true that JR flew all of the White Sox employees and their immediate family members to Houston to watch last night game? I saw a short clip on the news after the game. If he did, he is one generous owner. Props to him!

Back in 2003, when Bartman interfered with the ball, Alou's reaction was very unprofessional and childish. He slammed his glove on the grass and pouted! The Cubs couldn't recover from that incident. Last night game, after a Astros fan got in the way of the foul ball, Konerko's reaction was very professional and mature. He did have the ball although it already hit the ground. He turned around and gave it to a kid, then walked back to 1B to continue the game. The White Sox did not allow that incident to hinder them from achieving their goal. The difference is so apparent, and it's also indicative of the characters and the make-up of the two Chicago teams.

QUOTE(bulokis @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 01:35 AM) all of us waited for that big trade but at the deadline all we got is Blum, now he is definitely paying off!!!!!!!!!!! Who the hell complained after Kenny got Geoff Blum?

QUOTE(Queen Prawn @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 09:10 AM) Considering how many tickets went to connected people (either through MLB, politicians, FOX, etc), what are the chances he wasn't a Sox fan at all? I am glad he is banned. For all we know, he could be a Cubs fan trying to sabotage the White Sox's image! We don't have to make this unfortunate incident into a bigger deal. It happens many times, I believe. Remember the LA Dodgers' player who got whacked by one of the Cubs fan's cellphone. Were the Cubs fans sorry for that occurence? NO! I'm pretty sure it happens at ALL stadiums. If this lady is not Biggio's wife, will this be a big deal at all? I find it funny that every media, "un-Sox" fans and all of the peoples who are not happy that the White Sox are in the World Series are the ones who want to balloon this incident in trying to make the Sox look bad! One of my coworker who is a Cubs fan told me today, "Did you hear what happened to Biggio's wife at the Cell?" I replied, "The White Sox have been in and winning the playoff games and now have won 2 World Series games, and you have NEVER mentioned anything good to me. But the moment that this unfortunate incident occured, you brought up the White Sox immediately! Stop being such an a$$hole!" The guy got arrested, and no charge was given. Let it go and MOVE ON!

QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Oct 20, 2005 -> 01:35 PM) Good points made about the Cards vs. Astros and the breaks Houston got... Linky It's true! I hope it's true.

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 01:55 PM) you know what? We ALL knew it was going to be this way. I think we need to stop b****ing now and move on and get ready to cheer our asses off. You're right Kapkomet! Let's move on and support the team 120%. CAN'T WAIT!!!!

Took a trip to Costco with the family at lunch today. As always, it was very crowded! Walking across several aisles to come upon a table that was selling sport hats. On the table, Chicago Cubs hats were in two rows, while the Chicago Bears also in competition with two rows. There were also hats from other sport teams as well, the Greenbay Packers, the NY Yankees, etc. "Why don't you have the Chicago White Sox hats on your table?" I kinda angrily asked. He replied, "I did have them on the table, but one hour after the store opened, they were all out!" Our beloved Chicago White Sox have finally arrived ladies and gentlemen. Tonight will be the second win in Anaheim. Score early and that will be the game!

QUOTE(Texsox @ Oct 14, 2005 -> 02:48 PM) Yes I was. We lived on Maplewood Avenue, near Irving Park Rd. circa 1961-1965 before moving to the suburbs. I'll be darned! Hello long lost neighbor! Currently, I used to live in the neighborhood. I currently live up north nearby Evanston.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Oct 14, 2005 -> 02:38 PM) But this guy and the Angels fans are right. I'm sure Scoscia would have run out there and had his guy go back to the dugout and sit down had they done the same thing. I'm also sure that if they did the same thing, the fans would be pissed at their guy for helping out the team like that. You know what's funny Gleason? That's exactly what some Cubs fans were advocating. They said if the Cubs did that, they would have considered not only the win is not legitimate but the entire pennant as well! They would have preferred playing the nineth inning again! Have you ever seen a bunch of self-pity FAT LIARS in your life?

QUOTE(Texsox @ Oct 14, 2005 -> 02:40 PM) Actually when I list all the really great athletes that have graced Chicago sports and how most of them have been 1st class individuals, I always mention Sandburg, along with Payton, Magnuson, Makita, Jordan, Fisk, Banks, etc. No TO, Moss, Irvin, Williams in that group. Texsox: You can't back out of the DEAL! By the way, I saw you wrote Ravenswood Hospital under your Avatar. Were you borned there? I worked at Ravenswood Hospital few years ago until it was sold out. If you were, what a wonderful small world!

QUOTE(Texsox @ Oct 14, 2005 -> 02:21 PM) Here's my plan I will accept this former Cub as genuine, if another former Cub organization player, Mr. Jon Garland, gets a quality start tonight. It's a DEAL! So now I have to do more :pray :pray :pray !

QUOTE(Texsox @ Oct 14, 2005 -> 12:59 PM) We only hug those columnists that pick the Sox every year since 1960. All the others are either bandwagon jumpers for finally picking us, or idiots for picking anyone else. But Texsox, in 1960 Sandberg was not even 1 year old yet! He was borned on September 18, 1959. Can we open our precious welcome door a little bit to sneek Ryno in? And remember, he joined Yahoo as a columnist very recently.

QUOTE(IlliniStro @ Oct 14, 2005 -> 12:50 PM) He's such a cancer that it appears the whole Sox team loves him. At least its AJ that the media is attacking, because he seems like the last person in the world to let it effect any more than giving him a few extra laughs while sitting around with buddies drinking a beer. I tell you one thing. If that was any other Sox player instead of Pierzynski, he would have walked back to the dugout. AJ is the ONLY batter that possesses the presence of mind to do that kind of stuff. When he was running furiously to 1B while all of the Angels players were walking back to the dugout, I found that picture very funny but inspiring. Here was the player dashing to 1B like a mad man and who didn't give a damn to what other players or TV viewers thought of him. All that was in his mind was trying to get his team another chance to win the game! Here's to you AJ!

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Oct 14, 2005 -> 01:19 PM) They need new slogans: "With Dusty we turn rusty". "With Dusty we get dusty". Do allow me to rephrase: "With Dusty we turn rusty." "With rusty we turn Dusty!"
-
QUOTE(Reddy @ Oct 14, 2005 -> 01:01 PM) yeah they're finally starting to get it. we're just a lot cooler than the cubs. ps. i love how cubs fans hate Dusty now - wasnt he their savior not too long ago? At one time, you couldn't touch Dusty with a mile-long pole!

And you guys thought it was mine, didn't you?
