QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 01:43 PM) I really dont understand it either. Im usually a wreck when playoffs are involved. I chewed my nails to a stump when the Sox were playing the Indians in the last 3 games of the season, and i was nervous as hell when Game 1 started. But it seems like this strange euphoria has set over me. I havent been worried about what is happening at all. Of course, if the Sox drop one, this is all subject to change. Damn Kyyle, stop jinxing us!

QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 01:38 PM) How bout OJ WITH the liquor...? No, it will NOT work that way. It has to be OJ first then the liquor. After that, you can mix them! That's an order.

QUOTE(mreye @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 01:28 PM) The White Sox, despite their racist name, will play in the World Series. Mr. Eye, thank you so much for your prediction. Steff, consume a lot of orange juice before downing the alcohol liquor.

Marte did not take BMAC's place. It is El Duque who has taken McCarthy's playoff position. Between the Duke and BMAC, I certainly will choose the Duke.

Mr. Eye: Do you have the vision power to see the future? If you do, please let me know that our beloved White Sox are heading into the World Series. Pretty please!

I don't know how all of you are feeling, but my heart is racing so fast now! Gosh, I can't believe I am witnessing a very strong opportunity for our beloved White Sox to head into the World Series. I'm at work but my mind and heart are no where near my office. I don't know how to feel! I guess I am just scared, anxious, anticipated and floating in the air! The adrenaline running through my body is making me feel so strange. The excitement is overflowing inside of me while in a corner of my mind, the apprehension feelings is trying to take possession of me in vain. Best of luck to our beloved White Sox and to all of us "silent suffering" fans!!!

Those are the Boston Red Sox. Go and sweep them in FOUR!!!

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 09:13 AM) Mike and Mike this morning. Mike, Mike, and Steve Phillips picked us to win this series. Greeny even predicted a sweep. Bad Karma. Can we go "Flying Under The Radar" like the good old time?

QUOTE(Texsox @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 07:59 AM) You actually have to win something to get some respect from these guys. That crazy. Our post season appearances and success is very similar to the Yankees, Red Sox, Angels, Cards, Braves, etc. As I was driving in to work this morning listening to Mike & Mike, all they talked about was ARod, the Yankees, the Red Sox and the Angels. Oh, and also about why we should move the game back to Wednesday night? Hey, if the Angels took care of their Friday night game, they would not be in this situation. If the White Sox lost their Friday night game, they might have been in the same situation, and guess what? Noone from ESPN or others would care!

QUOTE(Felix @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 02:07 PM) Timo played first this year, why dont we put him there? Wouldnt it be the same thing as putting Dye there? Felix, Once again, that's another unfortunate statement from you! Can your Timo get 31HRs and 86RBIs in a full season? We are looking for some options in case Konerko is absurdly being way overpriced.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 12:03 PM) On Mike and Mike this morning he said that Chicago has always been a Northside town. Then he praised Ozzie a bit. Ditka's a twit, I've always hated that man. Annoying as hell. He can keep rooting the northside for all I care. But ya know what? Take what I say with a grain of salt, I hate football. And yeah Josh...ya dork...how can you be a fan of somebody you never saw coach/manage a game? How can you be a fan of something you weren't around to experience? Sheesh...what a moron... Ditka is "Gone With The Wind." Whatever direction the wind blows, he will economically follow! Ditka is a pure Northsider and a Cubs fan. Right now he is a White Sox bandwagoner for a simple reason: It benefits him.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 01:31 PM) LMAO at Manny in RF, there's a reason why Boston put him in LF as opposed RF when he was on the Indians. He'll lose you atleast 5 games with his glove in RF. He is primarily a DH. Only when we face the NL teams, he can play RF, or switch him with Pods. We don't play that many games in the NL turfs anyway.
-
While we are at it, which 2006 hitting lineup do you prefer? Lineup 1: Pods LF Iguchi 2B Overbay 1B Konerko DH Dye RF Rowand CF AJ C Uribe SS Crede 3B Lineup 2: Pods LF Iguchi 2B Dye 1B Manny Ramirez DH/RF Rowand CF AJ C Uribe SS Crede 3B Anderson RF Either is fine with me!

QUOTE(fathom @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 12:57 PM) Again, as the title of this thread suggests, it's regarding a situation where Dye goes to 1b. Thus, we would then have RF open. I don't think Anderson is ready to be a full-time starter at the MLB level on a contending team. He'd be better off getting a full year as a 4th outfielder. If we were to lose PK, and basically replaced his offense with Anderson.....our offense would be worse next season than it was for a good portion of this season. And don't tell me you don't want Jones cause he K's too much. Anderson would strike out a ton if he played 130 games also in the majors. I agree. Watching Anderson in a few games he played with the Sox near the end of the season really didn't give me a great confidence that he is ready for the major league at all! Like someone said, if Anderson takes over RF and Dye to 1B, we HAVE to acquire a good DH bat. HAVE TO! There's no other way around it. If we can bring Konerko back and trade Marte and minor leaguers to Milwaukee for Overbay, we will have an awesome team next year!!! What about Crede and 3B position? Will Crede still be under contract for next season? 2006 Hitting Lineup: Pods LF Iguchi 2B Overbay 1B Konerko DH Dye RF Rowand CF AJ C Uribe SS Crede 3B 2006 Starting Pitching Lineup: Contreras Buehrle Garcia Garland McCarthy 2006 Bullpen: El Duque Politte Cotts Jenks Vizcaino Hermanson With this lineup, we DEFINITELY will be in contention again in 2006!

QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 12:40 PM) I decided to alter the winner's flight plan. NY------->Anaheim-------> Moscow @ 4am Chicago time ------>Tokyo @ 11am Chicago time ------> Havanna, Cuba 3pm Chicago time -----> Midway Airport 6:30 pm Chicago time. Good luck getting to the game on time in Chicago traffic. LMAO! Now, can you transform your incredible fly route into codes and hack it into the aviation system?

QUOTE(3E8 @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 12:11 PM) I still don't think I am wrong for disliking Ozzie Guillen as an in-game manager. Bad managers have had seasons of over 90 wins in the past, great managers have had seasons where they didn't reach 70 wins. I attribute much more of our success to KW. It's pretty amazing when you think of the new contributing players he added to this team in one year's time. Podsednik, Dye, Iguchi, Pierzynski, Ozuna, Widger, Garcia, Contreras, Hernandez, Hermanson, Vizcaino, Jenks. However, I do like the fact that all the players seem to love playing for Guillen (except Marte?) This kept our team in good spirits throughout the season and obviously had some effect on the players KW was able to sign. Ozzie did have a whole lot of affects in persuading KW to change to "small ball" philosophy. If your players do not believe in you, no matter who you've brought in, it doesn't matter anyway. My question to you is should Manuel still be around, would KW move to "small ball" philosophy? Remember ONLY with the "small ball" philosophy that KW went out and got all of those grinding players. Give that question some time before answer it.

Great post! That's what I've been believing all season long. Put your trust and faith in Ozzie, your White Sox manager. There's a reason why he's out there, and all of us manager wannabes are managing in front of our computer. Of course, Ozzie is not perfect. There is absolutely not a single manager out there currently or in the history of baseball who is perfect. They all make mistakes like all of us have. What Ozzie gives to the team is what I feel utmost important. Gut, Believe in themselves, Challenge his players, Make them rise to the occasion, Never-give-up mentality and finally, Make the players believe in him.

QUOTE(beck72 @ Oct 8, 2005 -> 05:06 AM) Don't get me wrong, I'm as excited about the sox ALDS win as anyone. No Sox fan has seen this since 1917. We should be honored and proud of this team's accomplishments. Yet I found myself even more subdued after the game 3 win than when the sox won games 1 and 2. I'm not sure why. Maybe it's being spoiled by success. You get a little taste of it and you want more. But I think there's more to it than that. I sense it in the players comments as well--AJ, widger, Everett, PK, Ozzie--they want 8 more wins. They won't see this year as a success unless they get those 8 wins. As Sox fans, who have long starved for any kind of winner, whatever happens in the next week or two, most of us can look back at this season and view it as a success. I certainly will. This team has been discounted and written off all year long. But ultimately, this team will be measured by how close to 11 postseason wins they got. The number is three right now. Beck72, Can't sleep too? I just can't sleep peacefully since the playoff begins. Perhaps, it's homerism or home-team bias intuition, I strongly feel that this definitely is the White Sox's year. What team out there can sweep the champion Boston Red Sox, especially in man-handling in almost every aspect of the game? I'm praying for the Yankees to win, not because I'm afraid of the Angels, but the Yankees are full of the star players. It would be a much more exciting series to me if we play the Yankees in the second round. Well, here is hoping for the best. Regarding measuring success, to me it is already a very successful year. At the beginning of this season, noone including ALL of us had any idea how good this team would be, let alone advancing toward the second round in the postseason. However, since I've already tasted a piece of the PIE, I'm still hungry. I want ALL!

Allright, El Duque will get it done in the 8th, and the Monster will take care the rest in the 9th!

QUOTE(qwerty @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 05:52 PM) Ortiz will most likely homer if hernandez is left in. Left handers have killed hernandez this year... .860 ops. Qwerty, who do you want in? I'm just about to faint man!
