I have been to a few for Bachelor Parties. I guess I either work too hard for my money or it just doesn't do it for me. Dropping $50 for a "lapdance" where most places they barely hit your "lap", forget it. I can waste my money on watching the Sox pathetic offense. My wife has never had a problem with me going, always been up front about it when the party ended up there. I find it funny when then other guys at the party are all like "don't tell my wife/GF." Why, like you're going to not only have the opportunity to, but also then leave the person you chose to spend your life with for a stripper. Insecure. Now I have been to "private" Bachelor Parties in a hotel or at a house where the interaction has been a bit "closer." Still seemed like a waste of money to me.

That must have been cool to see 94% of our offense in Lombard when the team is in Anaheim. Please Crede, Dye, AJ and Paulie, please get hot soon. -
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 3, 2007 -> 12:43 PM) Real good question, that never hit me before. Also I forgot about the dynamite. She is the one who made such a big deal out of hiding and remaining in the shadows, but now she wants TNT? Wow. What is she up to? I had heard 5 people die in these last episodes. I guess last night was one.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 3, 2007 -> 08:35 AM) It was indeed an excellent episode, so much going on, with enough teasers to drive you insane. I loved Locke leading Sawyer to the man who killed his parents, by saying that he wanted him to kill Ben. Well, it just wasn't the Ben you thought it would be, was it Sawyer? The actor playing that part was awesome. He sold the complete arrogence until the moment he had a chain wrapped around his neck and the life was choked out of him. The best part of all of that was the Hell references. I can't wait to find out what the island really is. I really wonder what Locke is up to now. He obvious is dragging the body back to Ben Linus to get his acceptance into the others, but does it mean he is an Other, or is he just playing the game? It was awesome to see Sayid start questioning the newest Islander, and completely miscalculate. You never see him screw up, but he seems to have screwed the pooch with her so far. I wonder what the secret that Jack and Juliet are hiding? Is it about the raids, or is it about the women on the island and the pregnancies... or is there a completely different thing which we have no idea about? Damn I can't wait for next week. I am finally loving this show again. I think we all were well aware that Locke's dad was also the REAL Sawyer and I wasn't surprised it was him at that ship. I think that Jack is in on the pregnancy thing. Why did Kate tell Jack? Obviously Jack can't be trusted right now. So they're all in hell is what is being said then I guess?

LAst night's losers were easy to predict and although I thought he was the worst of the bunch, I kind of felt bad about Phil leaving. He seemed like a genuinely good guy and went and hugged his fellow sailors, wife, the judges and contestants during his last song. I hope it's Jordin vs. Blake in the finale.

But when the HR fails, we have nowhere to go. It's like we went to the golfcourse with six drivers, a 7 iron and two pitching wedges. At some point, you need to use every club in your bag. Right now, we are in the woods, trying to find the fairway.

We watched these shows and every 5 minutes I kept saying, "this is fake." Reminds me of Jerry Springer. Premise of reality but over the top embellishment.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ May 2, 2007 -> 12:40 PM) I loathed them in '86, and I still do. I don't care if it is "fashonable". If I think they suck and have always sucked, I don't give a rats ass what anybody else thinks. If you haven't caught on by now, I couldn't care less what the world thinks is "good" or "bad" and I have no time in my life to like something or dislike something just because I should. I just never understood the "if it's popular it must suck argument." I remember when Pearl Jam or Metallica first came out and some of my friends loved them and then after they became mega stars said they didn't like them anymore. This is like Sox fans that don't like the fact that more people are going to the games now. I suppose people said it about the Beatles and the Rolling Stones as well. Doesn't mean they suck, just different tastes. Personally I have no idea what the popularity of Pink Floyd, Grateful Dead or Bob Dylan is, but to each their own.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ May 2, 2007 -> 11:41 AM) Is that what the music was last night? Bon Jovi??? Good Lord...what Hell has been unleashed on this earth??? Oh jeez, is it still fashionable to hate on Bon Jovi 20 years later? Hate to say it, these guys have endured and are considered classic rock just as much as Aerosmith. They never considered themselves among the same groups as Poison, Winger and Warrant.

QUOTE(Soxy @ May 2, 2007 -> 08:25 AM) I was also pleasantly surprised by last night (filler before Veronica Mars, woo!). Blake was my favorite and that dark dye job--yum! I wouldn't kick him out of my bed for eating crackers! (I must say he looks almost exactly like Jason Bateman now.) Hopefully Chris Richardson will go home--I get that vibe from him that he thinks he's all that, and he's not even a quarter of that. Hopefully one bad week won't send Jordan packing. I think Jordin will be safe based on the fact that she was great last week and those votes will be added to this weeks. Phil was OK. Lakisha was good and so was Melinda. Chris was nasally and how do you go to your session with JBJ and not know the words to Dead or Alive? Blake was unique and he has the most overall musical talent of the group, not necessarily singing talent though. I like the performance but my wife made me rewind it 4 times. Jason Bateman, huh? All I know is that Jason Bateman was the star of the greatest sitcom ever .... It's Your Move from the mid-1980s.

I was expecting Artie Lange to be funnier, but I do like the banter between Ari and his wife. No matter what, Vince has to end up back with Ari. I love the show, but it won't be the same until they are back together.

I didn't like this week's episode mostly because it showed new ideas and story lines that never existed. We all knew Tony gambled, but we never saw him as compulsive in 9 years before this episode. Also, same thing with Hesh. Tony never showed anything but love and respect for him. And why did his girlfriend have to die unexpectedly?

I think Portillos "ring, drop a ring" onion rings are overrated, but that's JMO. Hackney's onion loaf is the best but I second the opinion of the Red Robin onion tower. The onion straws at Cheeseburgers in Paradise are pretty good too. But the sweet potato chips and the mini cheeseburgers there are the best. No wonder I can't lose weight.

We drove past the school yesterday and all the TV trucks were out there. Apparently Lee is at the alternative school and the students at CG are holding some kind of rally or sit-in for him today.

QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Apr 27, 2007 -> 10:34 AM) Yeah, whatever happened to... "you have my word." then 20-minutes later... "eat s***, you're dead..." and kill the somb****. I mean, thats what the OTHERS would do... When Sun walked out of the medical hatch and Juliet went back inside, how many people were shocked she was doing something for Ben? Also, when Sun asked Kate if something seemed off with Jack, I started to think that Jack's character has been acting a bit differently since he was taken by the Others. What with the football playing and piano playing and all. Perhaps Jack really is working with the Others.

I agree with the Lasik thing as well. But to go in and ask for the Chop/Slice special. Ouch!

I know the school well and the village of Cary. I do think they severely overreacted. If we were in trouble at school, I could see that, but to perform an actual police arrest went a bit too far IMO.

I kind of hope the Claire and Charlie story line dies. They really don't help the story along. Actually, I don't really like the backstories/flashbacks much at all. I do feel the producers make the Losties look dumb though. Every chance they have to make an Other do something or tell them something, they don't. Why wouldn't they take the Russian guy hostage? Why has no one cornered Juliet and made her give them answers? Isn't anyone wondering why Juliet and Sun were gone in the morning? It just seems they are dying for answers and whenever they have someone that can give it to them (and us), they don't press for them.

Well last night's results show was a complete waste of my time. Unfortunately the Sox game also sucked so it was a lose-lose for me. That and I fell asleep during Lost. I'll have to watch that on DVR. But back to AI. The Celine Dion - Elvis Presley duet was creepy, weird and bad. Ohhh how last night's show sucked!

ID sweep triggers protests Many call raid in Little Village intimidation By Antonio Olivo, Tribune staff reporter. Tribune staff reporter Emma Graves Fitzsimmons contributed to this report Published April 25, 2007 In what could be a warm-up for a planned immigration march next week, about 300 protesters shouted and waved signs for several hours in Little Village on Tuesday after a federal raid inside a shopping plaza. Officials described the afternoon raid as a crackdown on a ring suspected of selling fake identification in the Southwest Side neighborhood, part of a years-long effort to control a persistent problem connected to illegal immigration. Neighborhood residents and local activists, however, saw the action in the heart of Chicago's Mexican community as an attempt to intimidate people in advance of a planned May 1 march to Daley Plaza in protest of recent federal raids nationwide. Word of the Tuesday raid quickly spread through the neighborhood, with organizers of next week's march arriving with ready-made signs, drums and megaphones. The crowd closed the intersection of 26th Street and Albany Avenue for hours, chanting in a semicircle as Chicago police directed traffic away. "They're trying to scare us," said Juan Luis Martinez, 22, a Little Village resident, predicting the action would pull more people into the streets next Tuesday. "It won't work." Among the protesters were some witnesses, who said that as many as 16 people were arrested when agents toting rifles and dressed in bulletproof vests stopped about 150 shoppers and workers inside the Little Village Discount Mall. Officials declined to confirm the numbers or the details of the raid, saying a news conference is scheduled Wednesday at the Chicago U.S. attorney's office. involves a search warrant for records. Federal agents long have considered the Little Village area home to a thriving trade in illegal IDs and have made several arrests during sweeps over the years. Recently, the trade has evolved to include stolen Social Security numbers, according to a federal affidavit filed in connection to a raid this month in Beardstown, Ill. Local residents acknowledged the illegal activity, attributing it to the desperation some illegal immigrants have to find work. But the manner in which the action was taken -- in daylight as parents walked children home from school -- inflamed the community. Baltazar Enriquez, 27, was at the mall to buy shoes after leaving his construction job when about 60 agents stormed in and shut down all the stores, he said. The agents, carrying pictures of suspects, lined up people against a wall and checked to see whether they had anyone they were looking for, Enriquez said. "It was everybody who looked Latino," he said. When one burly agent asked him for identification, Enriquez said he responded in English: "I'm shopping. Why do you need to know my status?" The agent, he said, ordered Enriquez to clear out. Marisol Iniguez, an employee at the mall, said agents kicked open bathroom doors with guns drawn. "They treated us like criminals," she said. Jorge Mujica, a lead organizer of next week's march, watched protesters waving signs and chanting in front of a brick gateway arching across 26th Street that welcomed visitors to Little Village's normally bustling commercial strip. "This is our Sensenbrenner this year," Mujica said, referring to the catalyst for marches across the country last year after Wisconsin congressman James Sensenbrenner proposed federal legislation that would have made assisting illegal immigrants a felony. During a week when organizers have been trying to spread the word about the march, "they're doing the work for us," Mujica said, referring to federal immigration officials. Those damn authorities. How dare they do their job and arrest people breaking the law. I just don't get the protest unless they are trying to drum up publicity for this rally next week. If that's the case, shame on the media for covering it.

Well it certainly looks like Melinda and Jordin have set themselves apart from the rest of the pack. Blake was so boring last night on Imagine. I just can't see anyone other than John Lennon singing that song. Oh and how over the top was Ryan Seacrest last night. "Your vote, could be the most important phone call you ever make." Easy Hollywood Boy!

I still would rather have Ari with Vince and the boys. The way Ari rips on E, Turtle and Drama is great.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 09:17 AM) Isn't Chris actually Carm's cousin? That is true, but it still would be closer than Paulie and I doubt Silvio would want it. Although, Janice could push Bobby into the role, but who the hell knows. Please, just no dream sequence.
