  1. Nice whiff by wheover that was. Lilli i guess
  2. We (UVA) went down and destroyed Wake in Winston-Salem. We're absolutely killing the ball after playing dink and dunk the last couple of years. Pitching should be pretty good too. FSU coming to town next weekend will be interesting.
  3. Reason number 8 million why Spring Training games don't matter.
  4. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Mar 5, 2009 -> 04:26 PM) So what did I do to deserve that? Haha. It did sound mean spirited didnt it. I was just messin around.
  5. I want to go to whatever thread Kalapse is going to. He's so cool.
  6. QUOTE (Cowch @ Mar 5, 2009 -> 03:51 PM) With our other OFers I'd rather have the D of Anderson. Nono. I was just speaking of hitting the baseball. Not who I want to start in CF or defense or any of that. I just cannot stand to watch BA at the plate.
  7. I think I may be the lone person on this site that would rather see Jerry Owens hit over Brian Anderson. I just absolutely cannot stand to watch BA hit. It's just awful to me.
  8. I wonder why they are giving Wasserman so much work.
  9. QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ Mar 4, 2009 -> 03:53 PM) Agreed, I am looking at individual stats, not team record. Individual stats are almost as worthless as team stats in Spring Training. It is a terrible time to evaluate, but really the only time you can do so other than September callups and that is almost as useless depending on whether or not your team is in it.
  10. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Feb 28, 2009 -> 05:16 PM) I guess that might be the end of the Adam Russell era. At least in the two games we've gotten pounded, the starting pitchers (Marquez/Richard) have both looked very good. Russell sporting the 36 ERA, Dotel at 22.50 and Wasserman's is "down" to 9.00. LHP Randy Williams (ex-Marlins) has pitched two scoreless outings now. Don't get too excited yet, he's a 33 or 34 year old veteran. On the hitting front, Quentin doesn't have a hit yet, Josh Kroeger has cooled down after a hot start, same with Lilli. DeWayne Wise has been the hitting "star," two for three today to get him up to .667. Is is just me or is it lot more exciting when Viciedo and Beckham play in the same line-up? Hopefull that will happen in one of the webcasted games soon...would love to see how they look. At least Sunday's game is on MLB.TV and radio. Russell's 36 ERA replaced by Salmon's 81. He's really getting filleted and sauteed out there!!!! Russell quickly gives up five hits, a walk, 4 ER (so far) and leaves the bases loaded WITH NO OUTS for Salmon to give up a GS here probably. And to think, none of it means anything!
  11. QUOTE (flavum @ Feb 28, 2009 -> 03:09 PM) Lillibridge--3 pitches. Called strike Called strike Called strike It's like Swisher never left... Just FYI, preseason gamedays are very very inaccurate. sometimes they just throw three stirkes of any kind in there to denote a strikeout.
  12. Dayan's first bomb off Jon Garland
  13. QUOTE (SouthsideDon48 @ Feb 25, 2009 -> 05:37 PM) Was was Brad Salmon pitching in this game? I thought he was just a BP pitcher or something? Haha. That's all he might be anymore. Spring is officially here. Sox scrubs, NRI and lower level minor leaguers get rocked. That's when you know spring is back.
  14. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Feb 25, 2009 -> 01:49 PM) Soxtalk needs a Ventrilo server Interesting idea! We can all scream "YESS!!!!!!!!" or "F***" at the same time and blow our ears out
  15. A game to listen to, watch or follow online for pretty much everyday for 7 months. Today is a good day.
  16. QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Feb 22, 2009 -> 07:43 PM) I will admit, that does look pretty weird. But this doesn't
  17. 1. Ending of Game 4 of WS obviously 2. Pods walkoff HR (I'm surprised that this is missing from so many people's lists. If not for above and what that meant this would easily be number 1. The sheer surprise and amazement of it all. I still go back and watch it and get goosebumps) 3. Geoff Blum's HR (who knows what happens if Astros win Game 3) 4. Game 3 of ALCS - Paulie's HR made the West Coast not seem like such a huge obsticle like I remember it being after game 2) 5. Game 2 of ALCS 6. Game 163. It's up there cause I hate the Twins, and wehn you go back and watch highlights of that stadium all in black, it's crazy. 7. Jeff Abbott HR off Wells in 2000 playing against the Twins (Don't ask me why but I remember this better than almost any play in my White Sox history)
  18. I thought he did as good as he probably could. He sounded a little too much like McGuire with the lets move forward stuff. Couldve left a bit of that out.
  19. Spring has officially started. Nothing gets me tingling like seeing grown men stretch by the fence. errrrrr. Maybe I should phrase that better.
  20. Where are my pix! Stupid AP/Getty/Reuters.
  21. QUOTE (MO2005 @ Feb 12, 2009 -> 02:18 PM) Bulls**t you are going to tell me there is no more money! Are you Reinsdorf's accountant, funds holder, money guy? The answer is no..The only source you have is the economy and what the internet tells you. There is money..there always is..it just depends on the owener spending it or not! LOLOL. What the f*** is the difference? KW has no more money to acquire players. Bottom line. There is no money in his coffers. Whether JR is hording a bunch of cash or not doesn't make a difference. It's not like we're the little sisters of the poor here. We have a 100 million dollar payroll. There is no money. I edited out some f bombs
